After talking to her for a few more minutes Tristan said Well I'll let you get back to your guests, babe. Talk to you soon. Tristan waited about two minutes, before rounding the corner and entering the restaurant. He put his finger over his mouth, smiling, and hushing people one by one as they were both surprised and delighted to see him. Tristan saw that Brooklyn was standing near Kylie and Cameron, her back towards him. He set her gifts on the bar, then snuck up behind her. Placing his arms around her midsection, Tristan got close to her ear and softly sang Happy Birthday. [/ul]

& I WAKE UP EVERY EVENING WITH A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE ( and it never seems out of place ) jesse returned the squeeze brooklyn gave to her hands, smiling. she laughed at her question. "he unfortunately couldn't make it," she replied with a slight pouty face, though obviously joking. "believe it or not, we're not always together." she wished landon was there with her, but he had a pretty busy schedule himself, so she always understood when he couldn't make to things with her. he made it most of the time, and jesse always appreciated the effort he made, even if it didn't work out.
brooklyn had other people to hug and thank, so she moved along, standing to one side and looking on with a smile. everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and the party had just barely started. she would have asked oliver if she could do anything, but he and the staff seemed to have things under control, so she went to get some coffee. jesse wasn't particularly tired, she just enjoyed a good cup 'o joe. that thought brought a smile to her face as she thought about joe, from the shop. they always had fun while working together. almost always, anyway. he'd pick at her and she at him, joking and laughing. then he'd usually go after her with his grease covered hands, ending up smearing it all over her face and in her hair. no matter how fast jesse ran, he always caught her. joe was on the older side, but he still could move pretty fast. she always found a way to get payback, though, sometimes getting the rest of her crew in on it.
she moved to a table and sat, sipping at her coffee, and pulled out her phone. she had a text from landon, one she wouldn't want anyone else to see, and glanced up to make sure no one was close enough to be able to read it. jesse blushed slightly, a smiling that she tried to hide on her face as she replied. he would often send her text like that, or funny ones. sometimes it was just to say hi and check in on her, asking how her day was. landon was a top notch boyfriend, and she wouldn't trade him for anyone. not even her favorite celebrity.

dominic laughed and shook his head. "hey, i'm not that bad, am i?" he asked, with mock offense. he squeezed her tight against him when she leaned in. since brooklyn had spent her all summers growing up in hope harbor, they'd gotten really close in their early teen years and age had only strengthened that. she probably didn't know it, but dominic had had a crush on her after the first time they met, but soon he saw her only as a friend. he'd never said anything about it, but maybe she'd noticed. even now, he hoped she hadn't.
"everleigh's doing great," he assured her with a smile. "she's been asking about you quite a bit. i think that's your cue to visit more." dominic was teasing her, of course, though it was true that she'd been asking where brooklyn was as of late. he knew that she'd been busy, however, and didn't always have time to visit them. of course, he could take everleigh to see her, which would no doubt be easier on her. he wasn't surprised that she'd been working on more clothes for his daughter. brooklyn spoiled her with clothes, though dominic didn't mind too much. "you're kidding!" he exclaimed, as if he were surprised. "i'm sure she'll love it." everleigh was definitely at that age where new clothes, especially pretty dresses, were a very exciting gift.
he told her to have a good time once more before moving along. dominic picked up his glass once more, finishing his drink off, then taking a seat as he watched brooklyn interact with her guests. hopefully she really would have a good time, and not just pretend. he would have brought everleigh along, but wasn't sure how well she'd behave and didn't want to have to leave the party early. both her and brooklyn would have enjoyed it, he knew, but dominic could always take her over for a visit in the near future. she was a little girl, so of course she loved going to a dress shop. and everleigh was always good there, with so much to keep her entertained with, visually.

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn pouted at Jesse. “Well he better be making it up to both of us. I want both of you over for dinner one night! And when Tristan is in town next we’re going to have a double date.” That’s if Brooklyn was willing to share him with anyone besides his brother. She’d probably be practically living at Oliver’s place in order to have more time with Tristan. This long distance thing was going to be hard on her. It already was with it being her birthday. Even if she wasn’t a fan of parties, she still wished he could be here. It would have been nice to have him over for dinner at her grandmother’s house. Or even better, breakfast that morning. Her grandmother always made a special breakfast for whomever had a birthday. Even her mother wasn’t too old for one and the grumpy butt that is her father got one as well.
Her brow quirked in a perplexed manner at Dominic next. “Not that bad? You make me seem like the saint of joy and I’m pretty sure God just laughed at me saying that.” Of course, Dominic had a reason ot be this way. His wife had cheated on and left him plus was marrying the other guy. The b*tch. Brooklyn jumped up and down excitedly. “Can I please, please, please, please take her out for a girls day then? You can actually sleep in! or I don’t know, call your sister for once.” Of course Brooklyn had no idea Summer as back in town. She had been away from town for five days! That is if you include the plane rides. She didn’t call anyone while over there because her phone wasn’t set up for it. Then at least. Now, it was. “Hopefully. I haven’t taken her measurements in awhile so I’m putting elastic bands in some stuff.” Which Brooklyn hated to do. Especially with the nice fabrics she used. Yes, the little girl would grow out of it quickly and would probably ruin it before then but she didn’t care. She adored Everleigh. If she was honest, she adored all children but since she hadn’t thought about having a family herself it was hard to see herself running after one of her own just now.
Brooklyn’s phone began to go off and she felt around in her blazer for it. A wide smile appeared. “Hey you! I’ve been trying to reach you all day. How was rehearsals?” She has assumed that was his reasoning for answering because it was the only one that made sense. A look between a scowl and humor crossed her face. “You knew! Did you know the whole time I was in Londond? Jerk.” Of course she didn’t think he was really a jerk but she couldn’t help but tease him since he had hide this from her. They were only able to chat for a few minutes which wasn’t surprising. Between her party and it being one in the morning in London it was difficult. A moment of sadness crossed her features before she perked back up again. “So, Oliver, did you actually get my favorite flavor for a cake? That‘ll make up for you going behind my back like-what the hell?!” Brooklynb let out a yelp as she felt arms circle her wasit.
Her moment of surprise eased when she heard Tristan’s voice in her ear. She melted back against him as she rubbed her hands along his arms “Mt previous statement stands-you’re a jerk.” Still, spun turned in his arms to press a kiss to his lips. Even if she hated parties, this was turning out to be an amazing birthday. This year realy was getting off to a good start. Brooklyn moved to stand besides Tristan. “Ok spill-who knew?” She glared at her friends, curious as to who knew he’d be coming to Maine for her birthday.

He told her sweetly. And of course I knew! Do you think Oliver would plan a surprise party for my girlfriend and not tell me?! What kind of brother do you think he is? Tristan teased laughing in a jolly manner. After a few more minutes of playful banter, Tristan said he'd call her later and hung up before waiting just a few minutes, then going into the restaurant. Tristan smiled, satisfied as Brooklyn leaned into him. He met her lips with his own as she turned around to kiss him, his arms pulling her close to him. Tristan laughed at her saying he was still a jerk, and then he kissed her again. I take it you're sufficiently surprised? He raised an eyebrow at her playfully. Tristan left his arm around her waist as she moved to stand beside him and began to inquire about who knew he was coming. Just Oliver and Kylie and Cameron. Tristan answered. Everyone else is nearly as surprised as you.Looking around, Tristan moved his hand from her waist and took her smaller one in his. Shall we have a dance, my dear? He asked in a mock gentlemanly manner, and lead her extravagantly to the dance floor. Tristan held her close as they danced to a soft jazz piece, humming along softly. Did you suspect anything? He asked assuming she hadn't, but wondering just the same. I warned Oliver you might kill him, but he insisted on throwing the party anyways....It's a big step for him. Tristan stated, proud of Oliver and his progress. He still had a long road a head of him, but he'd come pretty far and they owed it all to their sweet Brooklyn. [/ul]

( STATUS ) COMPLETE “I wish I could’ve been there too.” Brooklyn tried to hide the sadness from her voice as she spoke. They had only officially been a couple for a few hours but it had felt like forever. She hated this-a lot. A small laugh left her lips as she nodded against the phone. “I suppose you’re right. Then again, he was my friend before I was your girlfriend so I think he get a pass on the family etiquette rules.” Family. It had a nice ring to it but it was probably way early to be thinking about that. Then again, her and Tristan had been getting to know one another for months so things were different with them, right? Plus, there was nothing wrong with Brooklyn indulging in her thoughts a bit.
Brooklyn was beyond excited that Tristan was here. This was the best surprise anyone could’ve given her. Him being here when she turned twenty-six. “Yes I am very much surprised. You didn’t let on at all.” Well now she knew why she was unable to reach him all day long! He must’ve been up in the air when she had attempted to call him. She leaned her body against the side of his, intent on staying close to him the rest of the night. After this it’d be a few more weeks before she could see him again. This long distance relationship would be hard but they were both willing to make it work. Whenever they were together, Brooklyn wanted to spend as much time with him as they could both spare and tolerate. “Well all three of them are very lucky I love them.” Even if she wasn’t a fan of birthday parties, it did warm her heart to know her friends did this for her.
Brooklyn lifted her head from his arm and nodded as she laced her fingers with his own. She snaked her arms up around his neck as a wide smile formed on her lips. Brooklyn was completely happy, a rarity for her. Yes, she may smile and move along with her life but it was a rare scene to see her truly, one-hundred percent happy. With Tristan, she was. And she loved every moment of it. She loved everything about him.
Brooklyn shook her head. “Not a thing at all.” Brooklyn turned her head to look at Oliver talking to different people. He really had made a lot of progress from this time last year. “Yes it is.” She shifted uncomfortably as they moved, her face screwing up. “It’s not that I’m mad it’s just that my family never did this. Parties. My dad was being transferred too much and he didn’t believe in making a fuss over a normal day which I understand. It just makes it weird when someone does throw a party for me.” Brooklyn didn’t want to seem ungrateful but some aspects of her childhood had been completely different from other peoples. Yes, she may be a good friend and generally sweet but she also had a stricter upbringing. Much, much stricter. That was still instilled her.
Her gaze went back to Tristan as she literally shook the thoughts from her mind. “Anyways, how long do we all have you for?”
