Tristan chuckled softly and nodded as Brooklyn stated that stubbornness ran in the Welcott bloodlines. This is True Though he wasn't quite as stubborn as his older brother, Tristan could be quite staunch when the need arose. People to readily assumed that just because he was gentle and kind and at times a bit timid, that he didn't have a stubborn side. If they thought that, they should have talked to his Gran. She raised him and Oliver from young boys. Gran knew her boys better than anyone could ever hope to. Oh don't mention it. Tristan said, in reference to the coat. There was no way he was going to stand there and watch her freeze and he was glad she'd realized that much.
Tristan watched sympathetically as Brooklyn struggled about whether nor not tell him what was really bothering her. He wasn't going to push it out of her. He didn't need to know really. All he needed to know was that Brooklyn was, or would be okay. His heart sank for her when she did finally tell him. Oh gosh...T-that's awful....I'm so sorry. He was at a loss for words. What do you say to someone on these subjects?Any words just seemed inadiqute for the situation. He sighed and shook his head, holding his tongue. It wasn't his place to comment about the nature of it all. That's a-a shame. was all he really could say. This time, Tristan did put his arm around her. He seemed appropriate now. W-well is he alright? Your dad I mean? I-is there anything I can do to help? Tristan desperately wanted her to say yes, even if it was just something small. Tristan wanted to be able to help her with all his heart. He hated to see her suffering this way.
Tristan couldn't imagine how betrayed Brooklyn must have been feeling. Her Uncle, attacked her father! What kind of person does that? Attacks their own family member? Unless he was provoked, but somehow Tristan didn't think so. Sure he didn't know a lot about her father, but what Brooklyn had said about him, made him sound like a pretty good guy. Not someone that went around picking fights.
After getting in the car, Tristan shook his head at her, laughing softly. Just cause you're a Marine's daughter doesn't mean your invisible or that you'll never need help....o-or that it's ever wrong to ask for help. he reminded her in a friendly manner. I know I don't have to worry about you...b-but that's what friends do. I consider you a f-friend...and I hope you consider me....one of your friends. Tristan looked at her and gave a funny grin, hoping just to make her laugh, if only a little. Tristan hated to see anyone he knew and cared for upset. He wished there was something more he could do for her.
Looking straight ahead at the road in front of them, he saw a pair of police officers coming their way. No doubt they would have a slue of questions. ___________________________________________________________________________

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn may not know every little detail about the brothers but she coul see plenty of similarities. It was nice. Not having any siblings herself she often got jealous seeing ones together. When she visited the other day she saw how much the two cared about one another, even if they didn’t come out and say they loved one another. That was why she left earlier then normal. Sure, her grandmother was here, but other then that she had no one. Friends were great but it wasn’t the same as family. Brooklyn didn’t always admit it but she missed her parents fiercely. And her cousins but they hardly spoke to her since everything that had happened.
Brooklyn put her hands up to her cheeks. The fact that her palms were so cold helped to ease her anxiety about everything. Saying it out loud made it real. Made this whole situation real. Up until now she could pretend that maybe it was a bad dream until she actually went to see them. ”He’ll be fine but they don’t want me home until things get settled. My uncle he’s done some terrible things and the military can’t discharge him until he’s been court marshaled. Well my dad won’t help with his defense so he got mad which may ruin my dad’s chances at moving up further. It’s just a big mess and I want to be there but they won’t let me be.” Hot tears stung at the back of her eyelids as everything just poured out. Brooklyn had kept everything in for so long that in telling someone it just all gushed out. That was typical of her though. When she got going with something it all sort of flooded outwards.
She moved her hands to cover her face completely until her emotional spell had passed. ”I don’t know if there’s anything anyone can do. I just want to go to my dad but I can’t.” Brooklyn loved her parents dearly. Their family was really close which is why she knew everything going on with her uncle even though she technically shouldn’t. What he has done just isn’t right. As she sat in the car, she grabbed a tissue out of her purse to wipe at her face, trying to make sure no tears stained her cheeks. The laughter that came from her lips was a bit louder then his, but a half sob mixed in there as she got chocked up. Her face went rather unreadable as she looked at her steering wheel then back at Tristan. ”I know I can. Ask for help I mean. it’s just…hard. With the things my uncle did the family sor tof fell apart so someone had to be strong. So I took it upon myself to be the one who was and just kept it up.”
Brooklyn nodded as she rubbed her palms along her skirt, smoothing it out unnecessarily. ”Well, I guess we can be friends. But you have to share your cookies and milk with me at recess.” She wasn’t even sure if they had recess in England but still liked having a lighter mood. Not like it could last long with the cops coming. A deep breath was drawn in as Brooklyn watched them approach her car. One she recognized as being a cop she talked to earlier. Her hands balled up and pressed against her things. ”Will you stay with me until the leave?” Brooklyn just blurted that out. Tristan gave her a calmness at that moment and she didn’t want to loose that support. She liked it, even if he was just standing next to her.

Tristan felt helpless. There was nothing he could do to help her, accept of course be here for her. And he no doubt would be as long as he could. But what was the use in having someone there for you if there was nothing they could do? With all his heart, Tristan wanted to take Brooklyn in his arms and kiss her and tell her that everything would work out, that it would all be ok, and that she'd be able to be with her father soon. But he knew that was unacceptable. The last thing she needed at this moment was some limey grabbing her up and laying one on her. It was indecent. And generally, Tristan wasn't one to act with indecency. Parents...or in my case grandparents....a-always think they know what's best for you, better than you do....And when you're a kid, that's true....But as an a-adult, they don't....I don't want to make things m-more difficult for you, but if I were you....I'd just pack up and go. Yes, Tristan could be a little bit of a rebel at times. He hoped what he had said would be a help to Brooklyn and not make things worse for her. But he truly thought that's what she should do. If Brooklyn needed to be with her family that so badly (and who could blame her), than she should be.
Tristan listened to his friend's reasoning for being tough and strong and everything that she was. Admirable traits, he thought. But Brooklyn had to realize that those traits could also make one pig headed and hard and someone that nobody wanted to be around. You're courageous Brooklyn. He said softly. Your family must be quite proud of you. Tristan was proud of her and he wasn't even related to her. He couldn't imagine how much more proud he'd be if she was his own flesh and blood. Her parents had raised a fine young woman. . Of course!! I always share my milk and cookies with p-pretty girls! He stated with laughter. B-but you must p-promise to share your ham and cheese sandwich w-with me. He pointed a finger at her and winked, than laughed at himself. What did you pack for school lunches? Or did you eat at the cafeteria? It may have sounded like a ransom question, but it wasn't really, not to him. Tristan was just trying to get to know her better. Oliver and I went to private school....And you couldn't bring your own lunch... he rolled his eyes. A-all very p-posh you see....But still a grand school and I-I still have great friends from t-there.....T-they served us the m-most posh foods...W-we had this world renowned chef and all sorts of ridiculousness t-that you don't need in a school....But all I ever wanted for lunch was a h-ham and cheese sandwich. I-I used to beg Gran to pack me one and l-let me sneak it in...But she n-never would. Tristan shook his head and started to laugh again. I-I don't know why I'm telling you this....I must s-sound like a looney. He put his hand over his mouth and pulled downwards, as if he was trying to wipe the smile off his face. That would have difficult, especially since his smile pretty much took up his entire face. Tristan had a rather large mouth.
Tristan was ever so happy that Brooklyn asked him to stay with her while the police did their work. He hoped that, that meant she trusted him. Tristan wanted nothing more, at this point, that to be trusted by her. He wanted her to know that she could come to him with anything, at any time, and he would do whatever he possibly could for her. He was falling and falling hard. Of course I will. He shot her an encouraging look before swinging his door open and stepping out of the vehicle, than going around and opening Brooklyn's door for her.
The police approached. It seemed that the two men knew Brooklyn, like everyone else in the little town. The one man, an older gentleman seemed pleasant and smiled at them both. The younger man smiled at Brooklyn, but refused to smile at Tristan. Instead he seemed to be scowling as he evaluated the Brit. Clearing his throat, Tristan stood up straighter and crossed his arms and refused to look at the younger cop. As they questioned Brooklyn, Tristan remained silent. He wasn't expecting them to turn to him when they'd finished, but they did.
And where were you tonight?
[/b] Tristan uncrossed his arms and put his hands in his pockets. Oh...I was at my brother's house...And than I came out about 9:30 to go for a walk...I stopped at the cafe to get a cup of coffee and than I noticed all the graffiti and I came over here to make sure Miss Sawyer was alright...And I've been here ever since. Tristan spoke clearly to the two officers, without a single stutter. And why was it your business to check up on...Miss Sawyer? The younger officer asked as he again scowled at Tristan. Giving him a confused look, he cleared his throat once again before answering. Well I suppose it's not really, but I was just being friendly....That's what friends do, I believe. They watch out for each other....At least where I come from, that's what we do. Again he spoke without a stutter. And just where do you come from?[/b] The younger officer spat the question at him. Ahh, that's quite enough questions The older officer said, putting his arm in front of his partner and pushing him back. Sorry for the inconvenience Miss Sawyer...[/i] he nodded to Brooklyn, smiling Sir[/b] he tipped his hat to Tristan and the two went on their way. G-gee...What w-was that officer's p-problem? Tristan asked. His stutter had curiously returned now. ___________________________________________________________________________[/color][/size][/blockquote] Tags Brooklyn Status Complete Template By Arro @ Caution 2.0 Picture By Google

Post by SYDNI GRACE MCLAUGHLIN on Jan 17, 2013 18:38:26 GMT -5
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 366x; height: 190px; padding: 10px; background-color: #dcdcdc; border: #1c161e 30px solid;]
pulled away before your time Sydni was deadly tired. Deadly. She felt like she may not even be able to make it to her car - let alone drive herself home. She'd been at the office for three days - three days straight - both day and night. Thankfully, Jude's schedule had allowed him to sneak over to her house to check on Kona and feed her while Sydni was stuck in her office. Yeah, this was the time of year where Sydni had to sacrifice three days - both day and night - and it was when she wired herself up on Rockstar energy drinks and countless pots of coffee to get her through. At least, the mayor was good to her. He knew that with those three days she stayed in her office - both day and night - she got a tremendous amount of work done. Tremendous.
That was just how Sydni was - when she knew the busy season was approaching, she sacrificed three days and three nights of her life to work. Yes, to work so she could make sure the jobs that needed to get done got done on time - more or less, early.
She'd finished the plans for the Christmas Festival, the New Years Charity Event (which of course, they were just plans - but they were ready to be presented to the proper people). She'd finished five press releases for upcoming press releases with news casters in the capital of the state - which was Augusta. She hated traveling there - she absolutely hated it - and she made sure the mayor knew it. Which of course, he made it up to her with her hotel room and a few paid days off after she was to come back. She also had finished several plans to present to the Governor regarding things around Hope Harbor - new ideas to bring wealth to the town and make it a better, safer, happier place. She also had proposals for several companies wanting to come into the outskirts of Hope Harbor. Oh boy, yeah.. she'd been working her ass off so to speak.
As she was walking down main street - since she'd gotten into the habit of parking her car at Brooklyn's place - near Jude's law firm. She decided that she'd end up passing her car long enough to get to Jude's law firm to see if he'd be willing to take her home. As she started to pass her car, which she was going to put all of her rolled up plans, her briefcase and all in the car before heading to Jude's - she noticed something that shocked her more than anything.
It was enough shock to make her heart stop for a minute.
On her car was written - in bright red letters that looked like blood - "I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE IN THIS LIFE IN THE NEXT, I CHOSE THIS LIFE. BE READY FOR ALL YOUR SECRETS TO COME OUT!"
She panicked. Oh, how she panicked. Thankfully, she was able to keep SOME kind of composure to where she didn't drop all of her plans.
She ran - yes - Sydni ran in high heels - down the street to Jude's law firm. She went to the front door and it was locked - but Jude had already told her that most of the time he was in his office and locked the front door if he was just going over papers, however he kept the back door unlocked. So, she ran to the back, and sure enough - it was unlocked. She knew he didn't lock the law firm with clients, so it didn't stop her from doing what she did next.
"JUDE!!" Sydni yelled with all the strength she had left in her. She put her plans, briefcase, purse, and bag down on a desk near by - most likely a paralegals desk.
"JUDE!!!!" Sydni yelled, searching through the office for him. Finally, she found him in his father's office. She noticed he had an alcoholic drink in his hands.
"You better pour me one of those, though I'm not sure if it's going to be a good idea considering I'm going off of three days of sleep - someone vandalized my car!! They wrote 'I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE IN THIS LIFE IN THE NEXT, I CHOSE THIS LIFE. BE READY FOR ALL YOUR SECRETS TO COME OUT ' in big, bright red letters! This is so not what I need today."
She was ready to cry. Yes, she was. She had only seen Jude for maybe twenty minutes at the most within the past three days - one time when he stopped by her office to get her house key and the other when he stopped by (very sweetly) to bring her lunch and a few more of her rockstar drinks. Not to mention, she was just overly exhausted - and now this? Yeah. If she wasn't Sydni Grace McLaughlin, the poor brunette would be in tears.

Post by AVERY NEVAEH DAVIS on Jan 18, 2013 14:30:19 GMT -5
The commotion! The panic and all the little bugs scurrying around trying to figure out what was going on in their city made Avery’s heart swell with pride. There was no way that these maggots were ever going to know what hit them! They would know the pain and suffering that Avery had gone through all these years. Fifteen long years and it was time for revenge. The biggest and most iconic part of this revenge was when someone was going to pay with their life. Just like their family had paid with theirs. The fire still ravaged Avery’s mind as they made their way down the streets. It was so dark that the black hoodie, pants and shoes made them disappear in the night.
Hearing a car come up they dipped into the church for cover. Now was going to be a precarious moment in time. Having to stay hidden and away from anyone that would possibly come in here. Placing their backpack on the floor they rummaged around inside of it and pulled out a cloth and bottle of chloroform that would be needed to take out someone that could discover them. Next they reached into their pocket and pulled out the black iphone and called Skylar. The voice changer masking their voices from one another. “A car pulled up as I was passing by the church. I’m hiding inside of it right now so I will be a little late meeting you at the meeting place. I’ll send word when I have more information.” Hanging up the phone they slipped it back into their pocket.
When the voices outside started talking a smile spread on Avery’s lips under the mask they were wearing. So there were two people involved with the cover-up outside? Well this was just amazing! Listening in on the conversation they slowly moved into the shadows near the back of the church. When the doors opened and closed as someone entered they looked around spotting the small frame move. The blonde tresses of the small body could only belong to one person; Natalie Owens. This was just perfect! The little pastors’ daughter had no idea what her father had done to Avery’s family.
Keeping their eyes on the girl as she moved, Avery silently worked their way up behind the girl. Once close enough they launched out silently and slammed the cloth covered in chloroform over Natalie’s nose and mouth stifling any noise the girl would make. Once they were sure that the girl was knocked out they packed everything back up and carried the girl on their back out. When they noticed that the two men had disappeared into the back of the church Avery slipped out with Natalie and silently climbed into Mr. McLaughlin’s car. Starting it up Avery put it in gear and drove off without anyone noticing.
When they were close Avery pulled out the cell and called Skylar again. “I am a few minutes away, I was able to get away and I found little Natalie Owen’s inside the church so I took her. I think it’s about time she knew what her daddy’s been up to.” As they reached the five mile mark Avery stopped the car got out then pulled Skylar out. Going to the black Mitsubishi Eclipse they buckled Natalie in then went back, but Mr. McLaughlin’s car in neutral and pushed it into the water way causing the car to sink to the depths. Thankfully the gloves kept all fingerprints away.
Going back to the Eclipse, Avery hopped in and drove all the way back to the warehouse at the docks that was another fifteen miles away from where the car was ditched. Pushing a button inside the car the doors opened and Avery pulled in then parked the car. Pushing the button again the doors closed. Getting out of the car they dragged Natalie out and then duck taped her to a chair. When Skylar showed up Avery gave a nod and a smile. The voice changer working under the mask. “Time to wake up little Natalie.” Grabbing a bucket of ice water Avery splashed the water onto the little innocent church girl. “Morning sunshine.”

[/color] As just sat sipping his drink, his phone went off, but he ignored it. Maybe a minute after that is when the office phone rang. ”Oh come on!” Jude downed his drink before answering. ”Hello?” he gruffly spat out. As the voice on the end other spoke he went from a hardened look to one of pure panic. ”Oh God…” Jude shook his head as he hung up while the voice on the other end kept rattling off to him, o longer caring about what else had to be said. He poured a second drink and downed that so fast he barely felt the burn going down. Yes, tonight was a night to get wasted.
By the time Sydni came around, Jude had already had about three glasses of liquor. He leaned his head back as she yelled. ”I’m up here!” He shouted before he rubbed at the bridge of his nose. If she didn’t figure it out, he’d shout again but he was in no mood to keep doing so. Apparently his father had gotten a call from Sydni’s father and the pastor so he wasn’t coming. Natalie had been taken. Little Natalie. The girl barely notices by anyone as she always went under the radar. He barely noticed her except when the families all got together for certain things. Or at town events. Her father watched her like a hawk. Well, he had slipped up tonight.
When Sydni came in he simply handed her his before he got up and poured another one. He listened to what she had to say and paused before he drew out his next words. He understood Sydni was freaked out-he was freaked out-but at least they hadn’t been kidnapped. ”I think you should stop freaking out about your car and worry about Natalie Owens.” Jude just stared at the wall, not even wanting to look at her. He knew with how much he had drank he was inebriated enough he might not say things too kindly at her. Not that Sydni was doing anything wrong just...this was a shitty night all around.
”They took Natalie right out of the church. She’s missing, Sydni.” As he finished speaking, he took a long, slow sip of his drink. Yes, he cared that her car had been ruined but this was more important. His father had told him to wait here until things got sorted out. They weren’t stupid-the ones involved in what had happened knew why this was all happening. Someone knew. Someone knew what had happened all those years ago. Something Jude hadn’t even been a part of but nope! He was still dragged in like most people. His hand gripped at the glass tighter before he brought it up to take another drink of the liquid. Once it was drained, he continued to grip it, his knuckles turning pure white.
”I didn’t want a part of this. I still don’t. This is bullshit.” With that Jude turned and chucked the glass at the opposite wall, it shattering and the pieces flying everywhere. His fist went to press against his mouth as his head shook. ”We didn’t do anything-they did-yet we’re getting punished. Natalie is what? Sixteen? Seventeen? Our cars get vandalized. This is just pure bullshit.” He paced around as one hand rubbed at the back of his neck and the other was balled in a fist at his waist. ”What do we do? Huh? I don’t know what the fuck to do anymore.” Jude was nearing a breaking point. How much longer could one person take this kind of stress?

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn shook her head. It was different in this case. She knew why they didn’t want her there it just hurt, a lot. Her aunt and cousins were staying with her parents which complicated things. Military police, JAG and other personnel were in and out all day. Brooklyn would just be in the way and she knew it. ”I wish I could but I’d just complicated things more. Trust me.” She took a pause to draw in a deep breath to steady her emotions. ”They’re trying to protect me because of all the commotion there. I understand that but it still hurts hearing them say it is all.” It was nice having someone to finally talk to about things. She had been holding in things for nearly ten months. Sure, the attack was recent but what led up to the attack had happened long before that.
Brooklyn got a far off look as she thought of the week leading up to her leaving home. That had been the most stressful week up until this one. Her father was always gone while her aunt was over crying every day. Brooklyn tried to take her cousins out to distract them but they knew something was wrong so it was in vain. She still talked them often either by email, text or the phone to help keep their spirits up. This, though, just tore them right back down. When Tristan pulled her back to reality she shrugged gently. ”I wouldn’t know if they are or not.” They didn’t exactly know she was acting the way she was for them. It was something she sort of decided on her own to do.
Brooklyn turned her body so her back was half pressed against the car door as she laughed at his joke back to her. ”Ew ham is gross. Turkey all the way here.” Her nose wrinkled up in thought to his question. ”It depended on the base. When here I mostly brought my own food but overseas we went to school off base. They had these special schools were military brats and the locals went to so it was bilingual. Well, my parents thought it’d be best if I get used to cuisine from other countries so I got lunch at the school. It was pretty great actually.” Her fingers scratched at her temple thoughtfully as she listened to him. It was cute how he want on. She liked learning more things about him. A smile mixed with fondness and amusement was on her lips as she nodded. ”It does make you sound crazy but it’s also cute.” Hey, she barged into Oliver’s enough it wouldn’t be too hard for her to sneak in and make him a sandwich as a joke. she already brought a ton of food over. She couldn’t help but let out a chuckle as she thought of how much Oliver would probably be displeased with what her making a sandwich for Tristan.
Before she stepped out of the car, Brooklyn switched it off and slipped her key into Tristan’s coat pocket. Her hand gripped around it as the officer asked her about what happened. Her shoulders shrugged. ”I don’t know. I was out back working late on a gown. I came out to head home and saw people pointing at the buildings so I looked and saw they had done this.” “So you didn’t hear a thing at all?” Brooklyn shook her head as she pointed through the glass. ”There’s the entire lobby plus the storage room for gowns before you get to my sewing room. There’s no way I can hear what’s going on out here unless my door is open or it’s as loud as a jet engine.” She was glad they were done with her as she had enough with law enforcement dealing with her family issues. Brooklyn cracked her neck side to side with her eyes closed a few times. When the officer started to question Tristan a scowl formed on her face. Seriously? Tristan barely knew the town well enough to be able to do this. ”A lot of people have accents such as your silly one where you drop your ‘R’s. How about you take photos of everything so we can be on our way?”
Brooklyn was glad when Jed told Seth to back down. Brooklyn shook her head before she let out a frustrated grunt. When Tristan asked what his issue was, her lips twisted in frustration. ”Him and I had a thing one summer when we were teenagers. It ended and when I moved back he wanted to try again. I deflected his advances so since then he gets pissy when he sees me with someone.” A blush went up her neck which was thankfully covered by her hair. She hated the thought of Tristan knowing her past indiscretions but it just came out. Her and Seth butted heads often when they saw each other. Thankfully she didn’t have to deal with the cops often.
All of a sudden Jed and Seth were listening to their radios. Police cars started to fly by them. People were moving down the streets in crowds with horrified looks on their faces. As Jed and Seth ran by, she shouted at the older gentleman. ”Jed, what’s going on?” He slowed down and turned to her, a grim look on his face. ”Someone took Natalie Owens from the church while he dad was outside. We have to go.” Brooklyn’s hands went to cover her mouth. She didn’t know Natalie well because of the age gap but she knew the pastor. A sob escaped her lips. ”Oh God let her be ok. She had to be ok.” Brooklyn’s head shook from side to side as she leaned into Tristan. People ran by saying they were all meeting at the town hall to form search parties and setting up tables for those who couldn’t search. No, Brooklyn couldn’t go. She had to go home to her grandmother. Her breathing started to get heavy as she thought of her grandmother all alone. ”I have to go home. My grandmother…she’s alone. I need to get home now.” Her hands shook as she fumbled to get her keys out of the pocket

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, background-color:#f4f4f4; width:400px; padding:8px; border: 8px solid #9b6464;] she‘s had all she can take SOMETHING’S GOTTA MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE. I DON‘T KNOW WHERE IT IS BUT SOMETHING‘S GOTTA GIVE
Natalie fiddled with her bag as she moved into the church. The closest light switch was a few feet down the wall so she needed her phone to see. When she pulled out her phone she saw she had a few messages from church members. Her hand moved over the keys of her slider phone as she sent a mass message out. She explained that yes, the church had been painted on but they’d all figure out something to do. Come morning her and her father plus a few of the people who worked at the church would look over and decide the next course of action before they contacted everyone. Once satisfied with the message she hit send and started back to the light switch.
Then, something was over her face.
Someone was behind her.
Natalie went up to claw at their jacket clad arms as she screamed. Her screams didn’t last long. Eventually she began to feel groggy, her cries becoming softer. After maybe a minute she went completely limp in the stranger’s arms, her breathing as steady as could be against the cloth against her face. From there on she didn’t feel nor hear a thing until she felt chilly water cover her body.
As the ice chunks and chilled water soaked through her clothes, she awoke with a start, a choking sound escaping her lips. Whatever she had breathed in still made her head a little fuzzy so she went to grab it….oh wait, she couldn’t. her arms struggled to move against the duct tape, her whole body moving the chair as she grunted. She looked at the person in front of her, tears filling her eyes. ”What do you want?” came out in a shout. None of this made sense. She was just going to turn on the light at the church. The church. Someplace she was supposed to feel safe-be safe. Apparently that wasn’t the case. She continued to struggle as strangled cries and grunts came from her throat, sounds of frustration as she tried to escape.

Post by SKYLAR ALEX DUNHAM on Jan 18, 2013 19:30:08 GMT -5
Skylar watched from the roof of some abandoned buildings as everyone found their work. A smirk formed on their face as their head shook from side to side. After everything these people had done, even unknowingly, they deserved this. All the injustice this town had caused was sickening. Even ones in a spider effect. There were things that people had done that just did a domino effect, leading to more harm within and even outside this city. These little people had no idea what they had done by blindly following their leaders. Just like everyone else in the world does.
As Skylar sat on the edge of the roof, the phone Avery had given them went of. ”Yes?” Their head nodded as Avery spoke on the other end. ”Understood.” With that, Skylar ended the call and tossed the hand form hand to the other. Teeth clicked before they decided to slip their phone in their pocket and climb down from the roof. Gently Skylar hummed before they moved into one of the cars set aside to use for these occasions. Otherwise, they had a clever hiding spots picked out. The town would do nuts before they could ever find any of them. And even if someone found the cars or anything else, there was no way it could be linked back to either of them. That was the beauty of it all.
As Skylar leisurely drove to the meeting spot Avery called again. As Avery rattled off the newest development, Skylar chuckled. ”Very nice. Let’s see what the good pastor does when the tables are turned.” With the phone hung up, their foot went down to speed up just slightly. They were on the outskirts of town, where cops couldn’t see. As soon as Avery had thrown the petite girl in the back, and they pushed the car in the water, the two were off to the warehouses. The car was driven into the building so no one thought anything fishy was going on. Once out, Skylar helped Avery duct tape before retrieving a bucket of icy water. ”I’ll go prepare what we discussed in the car.” Skylar nodded before slipping back out the warehouse doors, headed towards the docks….

Post by RUBY-GRACE MCPHERSON on Jan 18, 2013 22:25:41 GMT -5
credit goes to CUPCAKES & CONNIPTIONS @caution 2.0 Ruby-Grace had been working at the school late that night. She often did that in preparation for the next days work. Ruby was a middle school music teacher. She had a passion for her job and enjoyed spending time with the little children. Ruby-Grace loved to see their faces light up as she taught them a new song to sing or to play on guitar or piano. She herself had quite a lovely voice and many said that she should pursue a recording career, but it wasn't want she wanted....at least, not right now. For the time being, Ruby-Grace was content to stay in her beloved Hope Harbor.
When she'd finished putting up the new music charts and laying out the song for the next day, she grabbed her bag, coat, and cell phone and headed towards the school's exit. As she walked down the empty halls she hummed a song, and said a soft sweet Good night! to the school janitor, Mr. Fredericton, as she passed him by. She headed out to the parking lot, and unlocking her little sparkly green Volkswagen Beetle, got in.
Ruby inserted the keys into the ignition and turned the vehicle on. As the lights came on, she looked up and saw the lights shining upon some words on the side of the school. Squinting, she leaned towards the windshield trying to make out the lettering. The words This town will pay became visible. A chill went down Ruby-Grace's spine. Leaning back in her seat, she buckled herself in, put the car in gear and drove away from the school.
Ruby had to drive slowly through the town, as there were people, police, and writing everywhere. Stopping at the traffic light, she looked around rather nervously. Just then her phone beeped, telling her she had a text. Picking it up, she pulled up the text, from her brother and read it. Where are you? Something's going on. Natalie Owen's was kidnapped For a girl who was already insecure, this wasn't the biggest confidence booster for her. The news was rather shocking. Ruby and her brother Kieran knew Natalie well. Though she was younger than them, they had all sort of grown up together. She had to choke back tears of fear for Natalie and for herself. Ruby quickly texted a reply to her brother, before the light changed. Oh my gosh! I'm on my way now...I can't believe this.

Post by TRISTAN FREDERIC WELCOTT on Jan 18, 2013 23:07:29 GMT -5
Tristan sighed when Brooklyn said that her being home with her family would only complicate things. He wasn't sure that was true, but he didn't know the whole situation or how her family worked or anything like that, so Tristan would just have to trust Brooklyn's judgement. W-Well I'm sorry to hear that. Tristan said with empathy. He couldn't imagine not being allowed to see a family member in such a situation. It would eat him alive, much like it was doing to Brooklyn. But Tristan probably wouldn't be able to handle it as well as this special young lady was.
Tristan couldn't help but feel bad for her when Brooklyn told him that he didn't know if her family was proud of her or not. If they weren't they should have been ashamed of themselves. And if they were, than they needed to tell her. Brooklyn was tough and strong and could hold her own, but that didn't mean she wasn't in need of confirmation about things from people around her. Especially family!
What's wrong with Ham?! It's not g-gross....it's delicious. He laughed. Not that he really had a whole lot of experience with Ham Sandwiches. Usually if they had them, they were made with the leftovers from Christmas Dinner. Gran always made the most amazing glazed Ham for Christmas Dinner. Tristan swore he could live on it. Perhaps American Ham was different than British Ham. O-oh there you go, calling m-me cute again....I-if you keep that up, it's going to g-go to my head you know. He said, pointing to his head and crossing his eyes, again to make her laugh. Tristan enjoyed making her laugh, even if it did make him appear completely insane.
Tristan had to stifle a laugh as Brooklyn teased the officer about his own accent. Biting his lip, he looked down, so as not to have to make eye contact with the cocky young man. People like this generally annoyed Tristan to no end, but this time it entertained him, if only because Brooklyn had just been able to shut the jerk up. He only looked up again when he heard their footsteps going away from them. Sighing, he turned to Brooklyn and nodded at her response. Ahhh...I-I see. I'd be jealous too if I were him....messing up with a girl like you Tristan thought to himself. But the thought startled him. He really was falling in love with Brooklyn and it was becoming more and more obvious to him by the second. But why Brooklyn? Why was she so much different than any other girl he knew. But than the list started going in his head. Tristan bet he could list at least 100 things he'd discovered about Brooklyn that made her more desirable then all the other girls he'd ever known.
Just as they were about to get back in the car, they received the news about a girl named Natalie Owens. Of course Tristan hadn't the faintest idea of who she was, but apparently by her reaction, Brooklyn did. His arms instinctively closed about her small frame, as she leaned into. One of Tristan's hands went to the back of her head, while the other went to her back and began to rub up and down in an attempt to comfort her. Brooklyn....I'm so sorry.....But it seems like word is spreading quickly, a-and it's a small town....I'm sure they're find her. He said softly and without thinking about it, kissed the top of her little brown head.
Although the circumstances weren't ideal, Tristan couldn't have been more pleased that she had sought comfort from him. It gave him hope that the feelings growing inside of him, were growing inside of her as well. But this wasn't the time to be thinking of all that. The time to speak to Brooklyn about how he felt about her would come, but not just yet.
Tristan released her as she pulled away to pull out her car keys, saying that she had to get to her grandmother, but she was far to shaken up to drive. Placing his hand over the one of Brooklyn's that grasped her car key, he looked at her. I-I'll drive...you're too upset. Tristan insisted and took the key from her. Of course he opened the passenger side door for her and closed it behind her, before getting in the drivers side himself. Of course everything was opposite from what it was in his native Britain, but he'd taken his American driving course and was perfectly equipped to handle it.
Letting Brooklyn instruct him on which direction to go and where to turn and all, he drove her home. ___________________________________________________________________________

pulled away before your time
“I think you should stop freaking out about your car and worry about Natalie Owens. They took Natalie right out of the church. She’s missing, Sydni.” Oh. No. No he didn’t. No, he didn’t just go there with Sydni. No he didn’t. Was he out of his friggin mind? Sydni slammed the glass down on the desk – surprised that the glass didn’t shatter. She was going off of no sleep in 84 hours. 84 hours without sleep – and he’s going to cock an attitude with her? Really? No. He wasn’t. She pointed her finger at Jude as she glared at him, her eyes darkening now. “Let me tell you something RIGHT now Mister Winslett..” Oh, this was bad.. she called him Mister.. Her not using his first name was bad, which meant she was fixing to explode.. “I didn’t know a DAMNED thing about Natalie being taken – I can assure you right now, since you OBVIOUSLY do not know me any better – that if I had KNOWN she had been taken I wouldn’t be freaking the hell out about my car! And HOW DARE YOU? This whole SECRET is the reason why I grew up without a mother – WHY I had to be not only the daughter and sister- but the stand in housemaid, the cook, the mother figure to my younger sister when I was seven f***ng years old – and I was all of that until my stepmother came into the picture – so I am not the person you need to be talking to about how much of a bullshit this secret is – I know first hand. If you remember correctly, Mister Winslett, this secret is one of the reasons why my BIRTH MOTHER and baby BROTHER are not here.” Whether it was the anger or just the fact that she had gone 84 hours without sleep, or even a combination of the two – but now the small framed brunette was shaking.. yes.. she was shaking. “I protect this damned town every day – almost to the point to where I believe that I should be mayor. I have gone eighty four hours without sleep from me working on Christmas plans, New Years Charity Ball plans, proposals to companies, proposals to the governor, press releases after press releases… Don’t give me shit right now – it’s one thing for us to fight as a couple but about this shit? No. Yes – I’m freaking out about my car – who the hell in their right mind after not sleeping for eighty four hours wouldn’t? Would I have freaked out so bad about it if I had known about Natalie? No. It would have been the last thing on my mind. But how about be the boyfriend instead of another person trying to give me shit, okay?!
She took three deep breaths, and her eyes returned to normal. She pushed her long brunette locks back with one hand, as her other picked up the glass of liquor. Within one swig, the drink was gone.
“Now, onto the next important item on the newly done agenda – what the hell is the fcking plan on finding Natalie and getting her back and how in the hell do we deal with whatever fcking bastard did this shit? Do I need to call my father?”
At that moment, as soon as she asked the question about her father, the phone rang. She pulled it out of her pants pocket, and she cocked her eyebrow – oh, speak of the devil
”Hi Daddy, what’s the game plan? Sydni’s father’s voice could be heard through the phone as clear as day because of how high her phone volume was. ”Sydni, baby where are you? Are you okay? Are you safe? “Dad, I’m okay.. I’m at Jude’s lawfirm with him, so yeah.. I’m safe. Okay? No, not really.. I’m a bit freaked out.”
”I’m sorry honey – someone already told me about your car, and I’m assuming you’ve heard the news about Natalie. Please stay with Jude, I’ve got some things to handle with some people right now and I need you safe. Just stay with Jude and either his father or I will call one of you as soon as we figure something out. I have to go, I love you”
Before Sydni could even respond, he’d already hung up the phone. “Great.”

Post by AVERY NEVAEH DAVIS on Jan 20, 2013 14:09:43 GMT -5
The short call with Skylar was enough to let them know what all was going on with everything they were doing just now. The minute that Avery spotted the blonde girl in the church they knew that this was their chance to start some of their own revenge. The very thought of it made Avery very very happy! The fact the pastor was going to know what kind of pain that Avery had lived with for the past fifteen years. The kidnapping of this girl and what was planned would be a large message to all the citizens of this town. What better way than to use the most innocent girl in this town?
When she was knocked out the whole plan was set in motion. Well a new part of the plan but the plan none the less. This part of it was just going to be moved up to tonight so that they could show them the power Avery had over their pathetic little lives. As Avery drove and the call with Skylar came through an evil laugh left their lips. “The good pastor is going to see a change in his precious innocent little girl soon enough.” They smirked and as the line went dead they focused on the whole plan.
Inside the warehouse when they had her duck taped and woken they looked over to Skylar and nodded. “Good, it is time this town knows what it is like.” The one thing that Avery loved was how they got Skylar on their side with the simple truth of what had happened fifteen years ago. Not only that but what had happened to Avery themselves.
Looking at Natalie, Avery pulled up a chair and sat in front of the girl as she woke up. The words that left her lips made Avery give a laugh as they looked over the girl. Behind the mask Avery’s face scrunched up as they thought about how to answer what she had just said. “Well I would love to have a beautiful innocent girlfriend that will love me for being me.” Giving another laugh they looked over their shoulder to see how everything with the boat was coming along. Avery’s green eyes pierced into Natalie’s eyes as they looked into hers. A smirk played on their lips as they leaned back in their chair.
“So you love your daddy and think that he is perfectly innocent Natalie?” Moving closer Avery growled. “You would be DEAD wrong!” Avery slammed their fist down hard on the table between them and the girl. “Your perfect little father isn’t as innocent as he would like you to believe. Fifteen years ago your perfect little father took part in the beating and brutal murder of a man who didn’t get to stand a chance to stand trial for his crimes. After the man was dead your father and his little friends placed that man on the boat he lived on with his family and set it adrift at sea. Not only did they set it adrift but they lit that boat on fire. Now, would you please tell me if you still think your father is an innocent man?” Avery leaned back in their chair as they waited to hear Natalie’s response.
Avery looked up as they heard a noise behind them. “Is everything ready Skylar?” They looked to the Skylar in hopes that everything was ready for the second part of their plan. They were going to enjoy this part of the plan so much. It would be poetic justice for the pastor and his little girl.

Post by BROOKLYN MARIE SAWYER on Jan 20, 2013 15:46:42 GMT -5

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn shrugged up one shoulder and cracked her neck simultaneously. She hated stress. She hated talking about what was bothering her. She hated doing either of those things sober. ”I’ll deal. I just need to get past this hump.” Usually she shook out of her funks way faster then this. She was burning herself out with work which didn’t help thins. What Brooklyn needed was to shut down the shop for a couple days, shut off her phone and forget about the rest of the world. Hell, this incident with the graffiti provided the perfect opportunity. She was sure most businesses would be shut down a couple days as they cleaned up. Brooklyn could just give the owner of the neighboring store the money for someone to clean the place and slip away. No one would know.
Brooklyn shook her head. ”Uh huh. It’s salty and often dry. And then the deli meat version is all slimy. Nope, I’ll stick with my turkey sandwiches.” Then again, Brooklyn was a fried food kind of girl when stateside. Sure, she enjoyed her finer cuisines but sometimes good old grease just hit the spot. When she could grab a bite to eat while working, that is. Though she had friends or her grandmother who often brought her things to eat just to make sure she did. ”Maybe you should allow it to. It’s true.” Tristan was cute and goofy on top of every other good quality about him. He was quickly helping ease her worries with just his kind words and sly jokes. When he made that silly face, she pressed the back of her hand to her mouth to stifle her laughter. This felt good, to just laugh with ease. Brooklyn laughed with friends but this was different. This felt really, really perfect.
As she watched the officers take the photos she bit down on her thumbnail. She hardly ever thought of Seth, just like any of her past boyfriends. They weren’t worth her time or thoughts anymore. But the couple in town she had dated she was cordial enough with unless they stepped on her toes. ”Yeah…” she simply trailed off. She felt awkward after her admission to Tristan. She cleared her throat trying to think of something to say. That is, before the commotion went down. That was the perfect conversation turner. ”I hope so. That family has gone through so much. The pastor’s wife was hit head on by a drunk driver. Natalie was only eight or nine? That man doesn’t need anymore heartbreak.” Thoughts of hearing about some new attack by the enemy while her father was oversees always set Brooklyn and her other on edge. That had to be close to what the pastor was feeling except more intense. That was his daughter-pretty much his only family left.
As she pressed against Tristan’s chest, she closed her eyes for a moment. This was too much stress for one day. Yet, right now, she felt a little calmer. Not like every bad thing was gone but that everything would be ok like he said. When his lips pressed against the top of her head she sighed. Nope, Brooklyn couldn’t deny it any longer: this man set her all out of sorts. It was weird as they had only met, what? Two weeks ago? Which meant in about a month and a half he’d be back in England working. There was no use in making even the slightest move when he’d be half a world away and she’d be forgotten. This is why she didn’t let her guard down. When she let herself feel the tiniest thing-even just the slight feeling of liking someone-it never worked out. In this case, he lived in England and only came here every three months or so. And when here, Tristan only stayed for about two months or less. No, Brooklyn wasn’t going back to just flings no matter who the guy was.
When she finally got her keys out, Tristan stopped her. She tapped her foot in thought before she gave up her key ring. When she opened her palm to his, she gripped it for a second before she entered the passenger side of her own car. Yup, Brooklyn was in trouble. The last time a guy made her feel this way was about three years ago. Her last serious relationship. So now along with trying to get over the stress of her father and the shop she had to bury whatever feelings she was having. When Tristan got in the car she smiled nervously at him until they left. Then the ride went mostly in silence except for her uttering her directions to him.
just a quick post. anyone can interact with her |

Post by NATALIE ROSE OWENS on Jan 20, 2013 17:21:12 GMT -5
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, background-color:#f4f4f4; width:400px; padding:8px; border: 8px solid #9b6464;] she‘s had all she can take SOMETHING’S GOTTA MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE. I DON‘T KNOW WHERE IT IS BUT SOMETHING‘S GOTTA GIVE
Natalie let some tears escape from her eyes. Never in her life had she been so scared. Even when her mom had died she had people there for her. Everything bad in that moment was hugged away when people came to her and her father. Here…she had no one but God. All she could do was pray that whatever was going on would just end. And not in the way she was afraid she would. She kept her eyes downcast as she shook her head, trying not to sob too loud. Natalie knew it would only make things worse. She tried to hold back how scared she was but it was so hard.
When Natalie brought her head up she shook her head to get her hair out of her face. Some strands clung to her damp cheeks as she clamped hew jaw tightly. Whoever this person was was disgusting. After there little comment about an innocent girlfriend. Natalie moved her tongue around to get some saliva moving before she moved her head back slightly and lunged it forward, sending it towards to person who had taken her. The normally level headed girl just couldn’t hold back. She hated this person and if this ended in her death, she wanted to go out fighting.
She broke eye contact, trying to ignore what this person was telling her. No, they were lying. Her father was a good man, kind and always there for everyone. He would never hurt anyone-no matter what they did. He was someone who always say the good in people. Hell, he even went to the prison to counsel those who needed to find the right path in life. ”You’re lying. My father would never do anything like that.” She knew about the fires fifteen years ago but someone else had set them-a man who was very sick in the head-then killed himself. Not her father and not anyone else. This man had done everything-killed all those people, started the fires throughout the town and torn apart families.
When the other person-Skylar-came back around Natalie felt her pulse pick up and not in a good way. Her strong appearance started to fall apart again. Her tears mixed with make-up and some dirt, probably from the car. She was a mess inside and out. ”Please, please just let me go,” she sobbed out.
