Natalie waved goodbye to her father as she looked at the mall just a town over. Natalie hadn’t really had a whole day away from him awhile. Since the night of her kidnapping actually. But a new member of their church, Isabella Helstrom, asked if Natalie wanted to go shopping with her. She was very reluctant at first but her father thought it was a good idea and the older woman was trying to be nice. Most people knew Natalie’s mother wasn’t around and either over compensated with being nice or just didn’t know what to do around her. Natalie enjoyed having a girls day when she had close female friends. The couple she did have a couple years back became more popular so they drifted. Natalie just got over it. There was no use in dwelling on certain social situations.
When she got to the food court she didn’t see Isabella right away so decided to grab something to eat. She saw an Amatos stand and ordered some pazzo bread along with a Sprite before she found a table. When in crowds finding something to distract herself was helpful. Though crowds during the day were better then being anywhere come night time. When she found a small table she set the tray down and slipped her bag off. It was mostly empty which allowed her to be able to take off her coat and slip it in there. Her hands moved behind her to smooth out her blue shirt dress before she sat down. She crossed her boot clad ankles and was glad she wore leggings out with the chill today. After she said a silent grace to herself she began to pull apart the greasy breadsticks like meal.
Her father had things to do in town so he had dropped her off a little early. Now she was glad because she didn’t realize how hungry she was until now. Her eyes looked around the food court area. Groups of teenagers, most she didn’t recognize, goofed off. Some families gather for lunch. A look in the opposite direction showed people moving from shop to shop, busy now that Christmas was less then a month away. Why did everyone wait until just after Thanksgiving it felt like? Natalie and her father usually exchanged three gifts each and they weren’t very large or expensive. Being a pastor really didn’t pay a lot and she didn’t get a large allowance. Natalie was supposed to start a job then everything happened which put a swift end to that. Oh well. Maybe come summer time she’d be able to earn her own money, especially with college coming up.

The best way to assimilate to a new place was to join one of the churches that was in town and get to know the locals that way. Sure it was no Notre Dame but it would do. It seemed like she would never find a place that was close to home in her heart but she would deal with it. If she had her way she would be home for things like Christmas so she’d be able to go back to her church for those services. For now she’d deal with the filler churches and even become a member of one. That was what drove her to the church run by Mr. Owens. It was a place that made her feel accepted and not like a freak for being new.
A few days ago when they had gotten out she had invited Mr. Owens daughter, Natalie to go shopping with her. She was scared that she wouldn’t accept but in the end she had agreed and now here they were going to be at the mall shopping. Even now she had it in her mind she was going to pay for anything Natalie would want today. It would be nice to help her break out and get some nice clothes that her father couldn’t afford her. She was a girl dammit!
Parking her car she made sure that it was in the line of sight near a security camera so if anyone tried anything they would be captured on film and she could have them prosecuted for it. Walking into the mall in her tight dress that showed off every curve she smiled as guys came up to talk to her. Around lunch time she felt her stomach rumble and she dismissed herself so she could go and get something to eat. Finding a pretzel place she ordered some pretzel bites with nacho cheese and a Dr. Pepper to drink. Spotting Natalie at one of the tables she made her way over to it and sat down. A smile on her lips.
“Natalie! How are you doing love?”[/b] Her French accent not as thick or noticeable anymore. A smile on her lips as she leaned over and kissed the girl on each cheek. “I’m so happy you could come with me today.” She popped a cheese covered bite into her mouth, chewed and swallowed. Her eyes looking over the other girl with a smile. “Where would you like to go first?” Sitting back she crossed her legs as she took another bite and dunked it in the melted cheese. This would be a very fun day for them both.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, background-color:#f4f4f4; width:400px; padding:8px; border: 8px solid #9b6464;] she‘s had all she can take SOMETHING’S GOTTA MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE. I DON‘T KNOW WHERE IT IS BUT SOMETHING‘S GOTTA GIVE
Natalie finished off most of her food fairly quickly. Probably a lot quicker then what was proper but she needed to do something. Being in the mall alone was a bit overwhelming. Not nearly as much as when someplace alone but they hadn’t caught the people who had taken her. They could be in this very mall, watching her right now and she wouldn’t even know it because she never saw their faces. That probably scared her the most and was a large reason why she couldn’t move past this. Her therapist waned her to go to a victim’s group but that wasn’t her style. She wasn’t even a fan of regular therapy let alone talking to a bunch of people. Even in Hope Harbor she hardly talked to anyone and those were people she had known for years.
Which is partly why she was confused when Isabella had asked her to go shopping. Sure the two girls had talked but they weren’t super close. So the invitation to go shopping was completely out of the blue. Plus the other woman was about seven years older. Why would she want to go shopping with a teenager like Natalie? None of it made sense but she just sort of shrugged it off. It was good for her to put herself back out there so that’s what she was doing. Of course she was only doing that in the aspect of shopping with Isabella. Right now she kept her gaze down at her food as she debated on eating the last bit of her pazzo bread or not.
When Isabella finally came around Natalie put on a meek smile. ”Hi Isabella.” Natalie’s back tensed up when Isabella came close to her and pressed a kiss to each cheek. She knew it was customary for many European countries but after the baot events she still got a little uneasy about some things. She grabbed her napkin to wipe at her hands as she nodded slowly. ”I’m doing alright. What about you?” Natalie was bad at small talk among other things. Like dressing to her age. Right now she looked more like a stay at home mom then a teenager. Now Isabella looked very appropriate for her age as well as appealing in general. Something that Natalie just was not. Her shoulders shrugged as a rather blank look came on her face. ”Uh I’m not really sure. I don’t really need anything so we can walk around or go into a store you like…” Natalie figured Isabella should have friends around her age who were better shopping buddies yet here the two women sat. it was perplexing, especially to guys who walked back them. They beauty and the frump. One oculd guess who they noticed.
