When she didn’t have to log onto one of her classes for the afternoon, she would usually go have lunch with him. She was going absolutely stir crazy being in the house all day and it had only been a month since she stopped working! But, it was all for the sake of the baby. The first few months, before she knew she was pregnant, she had been really sick. She had barely been able to eat or drink, was way more exhausted then normal for the first trimester and even fainted. Daniel put his foot down once engaged and said she needed to slow down and that he’d take care of her while she went to school. Leila protested but eventually caved. He was right-if she kept up with working at the restaurant and doing her classes, on top of planning their wedding, she’d be too burnt out.
Now she was headed in town to where some of the local shops were. There was a girl who had recently moved here and Leila was going to show her around. Plus, Leila was craving a strawberry-banana smoothie bad. She had been for a couple hours and could now get it. Leila parked her car and slipped her hat back on her head. As she stepped out of the car and put her keys in her purse, she adjusted her black jacket. It was a maternity jacket so still a little big for her being only sixteen weeks but none of her normal clothes fit anymore. Mainly because she had gone up a cup size. So she caved and bought all new maternity clothes since she’d need them soon enough. Of course her mom and Daniel’s grandmother went a bit crazy there but said Leila could put it away for their next baby. Her and Daniel hadn’t even decided if or when they would have another one yet the two women already were! Still, she loved them. The top she wore was one her mother picked out-blue and grey stripes. The jeans just had the stretch panels on the side instead of the fully belly band. And despite being less then halfway through, she wore some wide fitting ballet flats because her feet had a tendency to swell already. Apparently it had to do with water retention. Leila was surprised how many symptoms she was getting so early on.
She went into the smoothie shop and got a large smoothie plus one of the giant oatmeal raisin cookies. Leila didn’t care about watching her weight for her wedding dress. She was pregnant for goodness sakes! She was supposed to be gaining weight. Leila set her treats on a table and sat down before she shot Zoe a text telling her where she was. Leila was really excited about this. She liked making new friends and she especially liked getting out of the house for the day. She’d probably be really exhausted once home. That just meant she’d sleep really well alter that night. Leila set her phone down to wait for either a reply or Zoe to show up while she enjoyed her cookie. Indulging in her cravings-so worth it.

Outfit- www.polyvore.com/zoes/set?id=75148885Zoe knew she shouldn't of wore white. After ten minutes of having her outfit on. She already developed a stain on her jacket from who knows what. While she was trying to wipe away the stain her phone buzzed and she was guessing it was Leila, a friendly woman whom she met about a week ago, who invited her out for a smoothie. It was nice to have some type of human communication. Since being new in town, it got kind of lonely. So she was super excited about meeting Leila.
Already running late, she grabbed her purse and practically ran out the door. It was not often that Zoe was late for anything but she got carried away with unpacking last night and ended up going to bed around 2 in the morning. She didn't realized she had so much stuff! So with that being said, she woke up late and totally lost track of time.
As she was on her way to the smoothie shop, her mind began to wonder back home. Only being here for a week, she was a tad bit homesick. She was really missing her sister, Heather. They did everything together and it was just odd not having Heather around her. Thankfully, Heather and her mother are coming to visit in about two weeks so that was very exciting. Bringing her back into reality, she parked and made her way towards the smoothie shop. As she entered, she spotted Leila right away and waved. Before she sat down she order a mango smoothie, her favorite and made her way towards where Leila was sitting. "So sorry for being late, I lost the track of time." She laughed and took a sip of her smoothie. It has been a long time, since she had one of these.

She actually couldn’t believe Zoe was older then her. She had one of those faces that looked young and would probably always look that way. Daniel tried to claim Leila would be that way but Leila had a feeling there might not be much truth to it. Just the sleep deprivation and stress made her look a little older. She could only imagine what years of that would do to her.
Leila shifted in her seat as she broke off another piece of her cookie and tossed it in her mouth. She’d do anything to have a large cup of coffee with this but she knew she couldn’t. so smoothies would have to do. As she sipped at her smoothie, Zoe came around so she set her drink aside. ”Oh don’t worry about that. I don’t have any place to be. I only have my courses three days a week and today is one of my free days. Besides, I got to act like a crazy pregnant lady with my intensity of emotions while I enjoy my cookie.” Leila laughed as she leaned forward slightly. ”So, how are you doing with getting to know our very boring town?”

Zoe looked at Leila and smiled with relieve. She was glad that she was understanding about the whole situation. Only knowing her for a week, Zoe could tell Leila was a very good person. She wasn't a physic or anything but she always got this feeling about people. She could tell if a person was a genuine good person or downright evil. Her mother always told her she had a gift. Of course Zoe didn't really believe that she had a gift. Feeling a little toasty, she took of her jacket and took another sip of her delicious smoothie.
As she listened to Leila, her gaze leaned down towards Leila's swollen belly. Deep down inside, Zoe was a tad bit jealous. Zoe always wanted a family but she didn't have that much luck with guys. Plus, her biological clock was ticking fast. Her almost being 24 years old, she should of already had a husband and either expecting or at least have one child. It's not like she wasn't looking for someone but she hated to admit it, she was a workaholic. Her main focus was on her book that she was writing. Guys are the least of her worries. But with the little hope she did had, maybe just maybe, she might find a small town guy that will sweep her off her feet.
Zoe laughed when Leila asked her a question. "I wouldn't say the town is boring but more like.. different. I'm not used to small towns. It's very peaceful here, one of the reason I came here to write my book. Chicago is big and lively, too many distractions. I like it here already. I'm not sure if I asked you this or not, but are you having a boy or girl?"

Having been held back in school because of her medical problems, her pools of friends was minimal. The ones she should’ve graduated with were always talking about college and she was stuck in high school courses. Then she was older then other high school kids as well as dating a much older guy. Now that she was starting college she felt more confident making friends. That and Daniel was very supportive and encouraging of Leila.
Leila polished off her drink, not really embarrassed how fast she went through her drink or cookie. She had lost some weight the first couple months-even if it was unintentional-so she wanted to make sure she stayed healthy. Leila reached for a napkin and wiped at her hands then her mouth. ”Well this is pretty much the right place. Have you gone exploring yet?” Leila glanced up as someone walked in not because she knew them but the movement caught her eye. Quickly she moved back to looking at Zoe.
She shifted around and shook her head. ”No you haven’t. But no, we don’t know yet. I’m only sixteen weeks. We should find out right before the wedding in about a month.” Leila was just thankful she’d still be small enough to not have it be the most prominent part of her at the wedding. Not like she could completely hide it, though. ”So what would you like to do today? I am your personal tour guide, here at your disposal to show you wherever you want.”
