Though her morning sickness was no longer that bad certain foods still made her sick. Today it was the maple syrup despite her craving it. Thankfully Daniel was already at work or else he’d be trying to get her to eat something else since she just threw up half her breakfast. She wanted her stomach to at least stomach churning over first. Hopefully as she closed into the second trimester it would get easier. Plus once she stress of the Charity Ball events wore off everything would be even easier. Though the stress of planning the wedding was also getting to Leila.
Six weeks. Leila had just under six weeks left to plan the wedding. Their mothers had taken care of a good chunk. Catering, the hall, decorations, someone ot marry them and set up appointments for a dj, floral consultation and then this photography consultation. The dresses were already well underway of being made. The boys would get fitted for their tuxedos in a couple weeks and around that time Daniel and Leila would go pick out the wedding cake as well as the whole menu. Basically they only had to worry about the small details. Their mothers were taking care of the large stuff which was good because Leila was starting her college courses in just over a week. All this on top of the fact that her cousin was arrested at the ball. Yeah, Leila was beyond stressed.
As she moved into the kitchen Leila’s fingers massaged at her scalp before she got herself some water. It’s been nearly two weeks living in Daniel’s house full time and it still felt weird. Saying it was her home too just fell off weird. With her pregnancy hormones if she thought about it for too long she came close to actual panic attacks. That wasn’t a good thing to have normally and while pregnant it freaked Leila out more. She was getting used to the idea because when not doing wedding errands or seeing Daniel’s grandparents, she was usually here. Her mother was going back to work full time so the only time she could see everyone was the evenings which happened to be about the only time she could see Daniel. Leila was learning to delegate time with her family alone, time with Daniel alone, time with his family alone and time as a whole family. This baby and the wedding helped a lot.
Unconsciously Leila’s hand went to rest on the tiny bump. Unless up close one couldn’t tell it was there. She just looked a little pudgy. That was rapidly changing as she ate a little more each day but she couldn’t complain. After being told getting pregnant on her own would be difficult it made her happy to see that little bump growing. One day she even cried from the happiness. While Daniel wasn’t home of course. Not that he didn’t know her happiness. It was hard to keep from anyone who saw her after all.

Maverick had woken up early, excited for a chance to show off what he could do. He was certain he wasn't their first choice by the sound of the phone call he would definitely have to impress the bride. Then again, mothers were always looking for the best of the best for their children. He had no doubt in his mind that he could contend with anyone and had no doubt he was probably the cheapest around but he had already been told price wasn't an option.
So after getting dressed in a snazzy new outfit he had put together, he gathered up his camera and his laptop. He figured she would probably want to see some of his work. It was only fair after all.
He sighed and smiled, rather excited to be able to have the chance to take photos. With the move and the business he hadn't really had much chance to enjoy his hobby. Maverick hadn't lived in Maine very long but it already felt like home. Hope Harbor had its... odd happenings but what place didn't? Everyone was so nice and it was like everyone knew everyone so of course he stuck out like a sore thumb as the new guy in town.
Locking up behind him, Maverick loaded his bag into his car before driving straight to the bride's house. He tried to remember all he had been told over the phone on the way there. It wouldn't be very professional if he couldn't even remember the name of the bride.
He pulled in and exited his car, pulling the computer bag over his shoulder, camera hung around his neck. He shut the door and glanced around. He wandered up to the door and knocked, putting on his charming smile, still rolling the facts around in his head. While he waited patiently, he glanced around, getting a couple of snapshots of the house and area. It was a pretty place to live, he noted, checking out the pictures he had just taken on his digital camera.

Daniel offered to hire someone from a cleaning service to come in once or twice a week but she didn’t want that. She knew he was thinking of her getting the rest she needed but Leila enjoyed the few things she could do such as cleaning. She went stir crazy here in the house during the day while he worked if she didn’t have plans with anyone. Of course Leila didn’t use any chemical cleaners. A friend had actually give her some tips on different household items like vinegar and lemon juice that could be mixed together to create natural cleaning products. They seemed to be working out great especially since a lot of the hard surfaces in the house were easy to clean. Marble counter tops, stainless steel fixtures then hardwood and tile floors. All things she could use her homemade products on.
Some music came from the speakers though at a low level so she could hear the door. She used a rag to go over the counters after she had loaded up the dishwasher. After she filled a stainless steel kettle up with water and set it on the stove as well as filled the coffee maker. She wasn’t sure if Maverick-the photographer-would want tea or coffee. She herself would need tea for obvious reasons so flicked that on. There were an array of snacks which she brought over to the table. This was her first meeting with anyone related to the wedding. She wasn’t really sure what was customary to do or not but they were meeting in their home so she wanted to make him feel comfortable. As the kettle started to whistle she heard the knock on the door. Leila flicked the stove off but didn’t move the kettle, letting the whistle die down as the heat did.
When she opened the door she had a large smile on her face. ”Hi you must be Maverick.” She cocked her head to the side as she noticed he had his camera out. Despite her confusion she stepped back. ”Why don’t you come in? I just put on some water for tea for myself if you’re interested. Or I can put on some coffee.” Once he door was closed she led him to the kitchen. She wasn’t sure what he was bringing in terms of showing her work-digital or physical. She figured the kitchen would be the easiest to meet. Plus the windows let in some great light and it warmed the place right up. Leila went to the stove and dropped a tea bag into a cup before she poured the hot water over it. ”I thought in here would be easier. That way we can go everything Daniel and I want much more easily.” Leila had specifically asked their mothers to use as many local businesses for this wedding. There was some fighting about that but since she wasn’t allowed a church wedding with being pregnant she wanted some things her way. Plus she said that their mothers could decorate the hall however they wanted and had to narrow down what vendors they used. They gave Leila a list of three and then she picked from there. It still was stressful but everyone got what they wanted in the end.

Maverick blinked as the door opened, feeling kind of like he had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He smiled at her, maybe a little sheepishly. "Good morning." He said cheerfully, always quite perky. "Yes I'm Maverick, pleasure to meet you, Leila correct?" She was too young to be the mother of the bride after all.
He followed her inside and smiled, shaking his head, "No thank you, I already had a cup this morning and if I have too many I get a little jittery. Shaking hands cause terrible pictures." He joked, following her into the kitchen. He stood beside the table and set down his camera and rested his laptop bag on the surface. "Of course hun. Its your big day so I want and need to know everything you want so I can make it perfect should you and your fiance hire me." He wanted to make sure that Leila and Daniel were happy with him, it was their wedding, it would be stressful enough without worrying about a terrible photographer. "Sorry I didn't mean to take pictures of your house without asking. Its just so pretty around here and I was kind of curious what angles would look the best should you like to take some shots here."
Turning his camera on, he flipped to the pictures he had just taken, turning the camera around so she could the shots he had taken. He was a very talented photographer and prided himself on it. He tried really hard not to get conceded but it was hard not to brag on occasion.

Or as brightly as she could when her stomach suddenly felt so very empty. Now it was time for her to munch on something again. She already liked her seemed friendly and warm, not stuffy like some photographers. ”Yes I am. It’ll be just you and I meeting. Daniel has to work and while I lov eour mothers I’d like to handle something on my own.” That came out with an edge of humor, not meant to be judgmental of her mother or future mother-in-law. Such a weird thought ot be having at only nineteen years old...
Leila chuckled. ”Fair enough.” As Leila mixed her tea together her eyebrows raised up and her eyes went wide from the overwhelming feeling she suddenly had. ”Honestly right now it’s just a jumbled list of everything we want. We only just got engaged on Christmas but are getting married on Valentine’s Day before I get to far along.” She wasn’t sure how much their mothers had indulged about the fact of the hasty marriage. Not that her and Daniel didn’t want to get married as they both did but they wanted to be able to take even a small honeymoon. Once the baby came if they got married afterwards that wouldn’t really be possible. ”How rude of me. We also have water, orange juice, uh I think that’s fruit punch though not sure and some soda.” Only when the refreshment predicament was taken care of did Leila sit down and run a hand through her hair in thought.
She waved her hand in front of her face. ”Oh I really could care less. Now if you were some sort of creeper then I might care. You’re not a creeper, are you?” She knew any real person who had bad intentions wouldn’t actually answer that question but she didn’t want this meeting to be tense. Leila shifted I n her seat until she brought one leg up and it was curled under her body. As she glanced at the photos on his camera she smiled. ”Oh that one where you can see the water would be perfect for Daniel’s office.” Maverick was talented but she already knew that. A friend had recommended him after seeing some of his work on display. It’s why she chose him first when their mothers gave her the list of photographers they had chosen.
Leila grabbed a banana chocolate chip muffin and set it on a napkin before she peeled at the paper around it. ”So I have to admit I haven’t seen any of your work before. I asked our mothers to choose local vendors and when I went over the list with one of the bridesmaids she said you did amazing work. That’s hwy I called you before I ventured down the list of people no one I know has heard of or worked with. I trust the people in my life because I really have no clue what I’m doing here.” As Leila sat in her seat her anxiety started to get the best of her again but she did everything she could to keep a cool head.

Maverick chuckled and glanced around the house, finding it rather... picturesque. He settled in and nodded slowly, listening to Leila as she explained it would only be the two of them. "That's all right, I'm sure I'll meet the groom one day or another. Its not a terribly big town after all. I haven't been here long but that's one thing I've noticed."
Maverick nodded slowly, watching Leila as she moved about the kitchen. He pulled his laptop from his bag, keeping his personal thoughts to himself. It wasn't his business if they were getting married quickly or not. Love was love. He certainly wouldn't have moved so quickly but it was none of his business and he knew better than to stick his nose in matters that didn't concern him. Its not like he disapproved or anything, he just wanted them to be sure, life was hard and short enough without rushing through it. "Right then. I guess I shouldn't waste any of your precious time." He smiled and opened his laptop. "Water is just fine for me, thanks love."
He laughed out loud at her ridiculous question. He just couldn't help it, it was so blunt. Why not answer the same way? "No dear you're not the type of person I go creeping on." He shook his head, finding it all rather amusing. He knew he was going to enjoy Leila's company and more than likely her to be husband if he was anything like her. "I'll be sure to print a couple copies for you if you'd like."
He turned the laptop around so that she could see he had a powerpoint up. "So hun, If you would like I have a powerpoint here where you can see other photos I've done. I've done a couple weddings before I moved up here so I've got some shots from that for you to see and then we can decide what you want to do from there if you would like." After all he couldn't make her choose him but it was always good to go forwards with your best foot.

Since the pregnancy, Daniel didn’t spend tons of time away from her despite her insisting he should. It didn’t help that her dizzy spells couldn’t easily be hidden so he always knew when something was wrong with her. He worried about her so much. It was sweet but could be a bit annoying at times as well. Still, she loved that man terribly so. Why else would she be marrying him?
Leila chuckled. Precious time? Leila had all the time in the world it felt like. She was home all the time. Him being here was nice because it was a visitor, even if it was for business of sorts. She set his glass of filtered water next to him before she sat in her own seat. Leila sipped at her tea, wishing it was coffee. As Leila laughed at his comment about she wasn’t one he would creep on, she tilted her head to the side just slightly, curious as to what he meant. Leila wasn’t attracted to him but she liked trying to read people. With a shake of her head she straightened it back out to look at him directly. ”That’d be great. Maybe poster size? Money isn’t an object.” Well that was weird to say. Daniel gave Leila fairly free reign with his money when it came to planning this wedding. Not like she was going bridezilla crazy and dropping hundreds of thousands of dollars, though. She still had some of her normal, frugal ways within her. If anything he had the problems with spending money.
Leila moved her mug so she could rest her head on the palm of her hand. It was a few minutes long. Her friend had been right-his work was amazing. ”Ok but what do you include in packages?”[/coloro] Leila would pay to have him develop their photos but she didn’t want to make guests pay a lot of money for the print of oone photo. She wanted easy access to her photos.
