( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn sat in the living room, working on some sketches while she waited to start to make the rice stuffing for dinner. She spent the better part of today outside of Tristan’s place. Wait, their place. Though she wasn’t fully moved I n yet, she was in the process of moving everything from maine to London. In another month or two she’d be living here and then after that would be the wedding. Which is why she had been out all day. Brooklyn had been out looking for space to rent to do work on gowns. Tristan’s apartment was spacious but she needed space of her own for her work. There were a couple prospective places just she had to figure out the funds. Which brought her to the next meeting with the wedding planner via the phone. Well, an event planner that the welcott family used as they would keeps things the wedding a secret thankfully.
Brooklyn was grateful to let someone else take over the nitty gritty of things. Planning a wedding in italy secretly so no one would find out was exhausting to think about. Brooklyn and Tristan just had to worry about picking out all the details like decorations, menu, cake and other things like that but the planner had that covered to! She brought things to the apartment building. Samples hidden in unmarked boxes sent via courier so no one would think twice about it. They also limited the number of times the planner came to the apartment so none of the press could guess. Keeping this secret could be exhausting but it was also welcome. Brooklyn would have to get used to the press in their lives for as long as Tristan acted, perhaps even longer then that, so she enjoyed having something private. After the wedding, they’d come back to London and then it would come out.
Just, she hoped her parents came around before then.
With a heavy sigh to dismiss thoughts of her parents, Brooklyn tossed her sketch book and the pencils on the coffee table. She didn’t care if Tristan saw as it wasn’t for her wedding gown. Those sketches and everything for the gown were locked away at her store in maine. When she made the final move to London she already asked Tristan’s grandmother if she could have the dress at her home to finish. The woman was more then happy with it and it seemed like it would be perfect. Brooklyn could get to know the woman who had raised Brooklyn’s future husband and best friend. All around a fitting situation.
With the binder of wedding plans and the sketchbook in the living room, Brooklyn began to pull out the ingredients for the rice stuffing. She slipped her ring and bracelets off and set them on the island before she grabbed the long grain and wild rice she would need plus all the seasonings. She was making roast duck with it, one of Tristan’s favorite meals. Lately she had been trying to learn to cook more meals. No one could say Brooklyn was a chef but she was trying. Tristan cooked such lovely meals and she wanted to be able to do so as well. Especially when he had a long day of rehearsals. Most of the time with performances everyone went out to eat somewhere though occasionally her and Tristan came home. She wanted to be able to cook for those times as well to let him relax. He was so good to Brooklyn and she just wanted to show him how much she appreciated it and be just as good for him.
A lot had changed about Brooklyn. While her humor and ability to try to befriend people remained, she was careful with what she said around unsure company. She also cut back on her drinking significantly. While she wasn’t terrible before, she still didn’t want to rely on it for anything. Even at social gatherings she’d milk one glass for as long as possible. That and she had had a little scar not long after they had first been together after their engagement. It got Brooklyn thinking that when the time came that they did want to have kids she didn’t want anything to harm whatever child she carried. So, as little alcohol as possible for Brooklyn. She still hadn’t told Tristan about her scare because it had been negative so she wasn’t worried.
Brooklyn put the rice and the innards of the duck in a pan on the stove then checked on the duck in the oven. Once she made sure everything was cooking alright, she closed the oven and went back to cooking the stuffing for the duck. A little over forty-five minutes later she had the duck all ready, including stuffed, and on a serving dish while she went to set the dining room table. She put everything on seats close to one another as the table was large but it was too hot to eat in the kitchen. The oven had been on for well over three hours so she’d rather be out in the dining area then in there.

He called as he walked into the large living room. Brooklyn's sketchbook caught his eye and he smiled as he lifted and looked at the drawings there. No doubt musings for Kylie's dress. Kylie, as Tristan understood, was to be Brooklyn's maid of honor, and he couldn't think of a better choice. Setting the sketchbook down, and chuckling happily at all the other wedding items about, Tristan shoved his hands into his pockets and sauntered into the dining room, as he could hear the soft clatter of silverware coming from there. Tristan quietly came up behind her, and pulling his hands out of his pockets, wrapped them about her tiny middle. He buried his nose in her hair for a moment, breathing in it's sweet, silky perfume, then leaned around to kiss her cheek, letting his lips linger there for a few moments. What's all this? He asked, once he had pulled away, looking at the fancily set table top. Something....besides you....smells amazing. Tristan smiled and kissed her once more. Do you need help with anything? Tristan was always eager to help Brooklyn wherever he could. [/ul]

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn knew that keeping busy wouldn’t work forever in keeping her mind off things. And it wasn’t even just what had happened with her parents but also everything that happened in February. Dominic, Summer and everleigh being targeted in these awful attacks. Then kylie’s car crash…her losing the baby. The end of the winter had been really rough on Brooklyn but she had held it together. She only told oliver about what happened with her parents friendship wise. She kept it from kylie and dominic so they could heal without worrying. In fact Brooklyn dived into helping them, as well as summer, since they needed help. The banes family didn’t have family in town to help out so she checked in on them daily on top of her job at the shop. Then she had her phone on so kylie could call whenever she wanted to talk about things. Exhausting but so worth it. Brooklyn loved her friends dearly and would do anything for them.
Then there were the quiet moments every thought and emotion flooded her. The moments she sat at her home-soon to be oliver’s, actually-and everything rushed at once. Then she tried to find something else to do but it didn’t always work. Out here it was easier because Brooklyn felt happy being near Tristan again. Having to go back ot maine she felt a little empty without him. She hated the distance but soon it would be nonexistent. She’d be here, in London, with him all the time. Then they’d having their and start their lives as a married couple. Brooklyn just hoped starting it married meant her father finally accepting him and the whole situation. Honestly, with how Brooklyn was the man should’ve figured Brooklyn would be more likely to elope then anything. Ok, not entirely true but they should know her personality by now. She wasn’t exactly a traditional girl after all.
Brooklyn continued to set the table, even when Tristan called out to her. “hey honey,” was easily called back like they had been doing it forever. Other times she might go up and hug him but considering she was busy getting everything set up for dinner she just wanted to get that done first before the meal got cold. She already had no idea if it was that good or not as she didn’t cook that often, really, and was doing it to try do more now that she was with Tristan. Never before had she wanted to do so much to make someone happy before in being every sense of the word. Frankly, she liked it.
Brooklyn was in the middle of laying the silverware when Tristan came around. She laughed as he nuzzled into her hair. She turned to return the kiss he pressed to her cheek but pressed it to his lips instead. “Mmm I made dinner is that this is. Was just finishing setting up here.” Brooklyn turned to wrap her arms around Tristan’s neck. She brought her lips to his to kiss him tenderly for a moment before she pulled back and moved to wrap her arms tighter in a loving hug. Whenever in London she just wanted to be as close to him as possible since she knew she’d miss it when away from him. Her head shook as she pulled away from him. “No it’s already done. I just need to know what you wanted to have to drink tonight.”

Tristan explained. He'd always been one for pairing drinks that went best with certain foods. Now don't tell me what we're having...let me guess. Tristan sniffed the air playfully, then looked down at her, his eyes seeming to glint. Hmmmmm....Is it....Duck? He asked, already knowing it was because duck, being his favorite meal, was a smell he could recognize anytime anywhere. Well there is a lovely Pinot Blanc in the wine cellar, that I've been saving for just such an occasion. Tristan explained. You get the glasses, I'll get the wine. Tristan kissed her cheek and strolled off to the wine cellar. It only took him a few minutes to find the bottle. He grabbed a cloth from on top of the wrack and dusted the bottle, as it had een sitting there for quite some time, then headed back upstairs, and placed it on the table, just as Brooklyn was bringing out the duck. That looks amazing babe. Tristan told her. Tristan took the carving knife and fork and sliced the bird, serving Brooklyn first, and then himself. After sitting, he eagerly tasted the meal Brooklyn had lovingly prepared. He savored the delightful combination of the Duck and Seasoned Rice together. It was simply fantastic. After swallowing, Tristan looked at Brooklyn. Wow...that is realy good...You did an excellent job. He leaned over and kissed her cheek once more. Tristan was the type of guy, that always wanted his girl to know how much he cared for and cherrished her and then things she did for him. As they ate and sipped at their wine, Tristan began to talk about the wedding. I saw the dress sketch you were working on...It's really pretty. If that's what Kylie's dress was going to look like, Tristan couldn't wait to see Brooklyn's. He was a traditionalist and didn't want to see it until she was walking down the aisle. When is the coordinator coming next? He inquired. Tristan wanted to be supportive and help where he could, but still stay out of the way, making sure everything was exactly how Brooklyn wanted it. Oh...I've been meaning to ask you, are we writing our own vows? Tristan, being a guy, was pretty nutral on the subject. But he did think that it was a nice sentiment. Whatever Brooklyn wanted though, that's what he'd do. [/ul]

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn wasn’t necessarily stressed but tense enough that his hands moving up and down her back felt good. She just had a lot to do at once. Planning the wedding, designing her gown and kylie’s, moving, trying to fix things with her parents and then today her aunt emailed her the verdict for her uncle’s trial. Brooklyn truthfully didn’t want ot go back around her family for a bit. People were calling her aunt left and right for a statement. A couple reporters wouldn’t let up and leave their house. It was exhausting. Brooklyn couldn’t wait for things to slow down. Their honeymoon she was shutting everything off. People could call the hotel for an emergency but otherwise all electronics would be off and forgotten while her and Tristan just relaxed. She was very much looking forward to time of just them.
Even now having him around she was feeling much more relaxed. Just Tristan’s presence did that to her. A laugh escaped as she shook her head with his comment about what to have to drink. Honestly she never got the whole pairing of one bit but she hadn’t been raised that way. She poked at his chest playfully. “I really can’t surprise you ever, can I?” of course she was only teasing as she grinned at him. Her lips pursed in thought before she went in the kitchen. She had learned there were different glasses for red and white wine so she made sure to grab the right kind along with a couple glasses of ice water. She tried not to have more then one glass with a meal so she usually had water as another drink handy. Brooklyn brought them out after she had already brought out the food and set it on the table. The table was large so she set everything on one end and the seat directly to the right of Tristan’s spot. A bright smile formed as he complimented how the food looked. “yeah well you haven’t tried it et. I told you my cooking is awful but I’d like to think I’m getting better.”
Brooklyn had been ready to start serving but Tristan was one step ahead like always. She thanked him before she began to eat. I really wasn’t that bad but Brooklyn had only had duck a couple times so she wasn’t sure how it was supposed to be when cooked right. She did feel proud when he said it was good. “I’m glad. I just picked a recipe on a whim that seemed easy enough to try.” she sipped her wine a little at a time, not wanting to overindulge. She really was more hungry then anything form running around. She had only had a small sandwich for lunch in the midst of everything. Brooklyn swallowed her bite before she nodded. “just musings for kylie’s dress but I’ll probably ask her to help me design it since she’ll be wearing it anyway. When I get back we’ll be finalizing it.”
Brooklyn smoothed her hands over her legs as she gazed down for a moment. “um she gets back from checking out the place in italy the day after tomorrow and she wants to meet when she gets here. Go over the guest list...” Brooklyn trailed off a moment as she finished off her glass of wine. “anyways she wants to make sure there’ll be enough room for everyone if not she has some ideas.” Brooklyn was debating on saying her parents were coming for now then when it got closer, knowing the finally number, figuring it out from there. That was probably the most stressful part of everything-she couldn’t handle the not talking to her father while planning a wedding. It shouldn’t be this way at all. Still she put on her smile, let her normal bright personality through and persevere. It’s all she could do at this point in time.
“uh I honestly haven’t thought about it considering how the last couple months have been for me. Did you want to?” all Brooklyn had been worried about was dominic, summer, the store, the trial, moving her grandmother and the major aspects of the wedding. She hadn’t thought of the smaller things. Even when the coordinator asked her about party favors she had been dumb founded. Most weddings she went to had simple things like candy. She had a feeling considering how much more elegant this wedding was compared to others that probably wouldn’t pass. Just too many minor details that made her head hurt and she was glad to have a coordinator to help her with. At this point she was ready to say ‘do what you want but stay in budget’ to help move things along.

Tristan said softly, rubbing his chest where Brooklyn had poked him. Of course it hadn't really hurt, but he knew he'd likely get a rise from Brooklyn if he pretended that it had. Well...coming home to my favorite meal is quite a nice surprise. So yes, you can surprise me babe. Tristan kissed the top of her head, after answering her question. If she had made anything other Duck, Tristan would likely have been stumped. But Duck was something he could always identify by smell, whether it was fried, roasted, or broiled. There were few things on earth Tristan enjoyed more than a fine Duck. Tristan came back up with the bottle of wine and poured half a glass for each of them. He never drank to get intoxicated. Only for taste. The food looked amazing and Tristan didn't hesitate to tell Brooklyn so. I'm sure it will be quite wonderful. He assured her. Brooklyn had never thought she was much of cook, but Tristan always enjoyed the things she prepared. He couldn't wait to try the Duck the way she had prepared it. When Brooklyn said that she'd picked the recipe on a whim, Tristan smiled. Women's intuition wins out every time, it seems. He reached over and gave her hand a squeeze. You are quite the woman Brooklyn. As they ate, Tristan listened to her talk about designing Kylie's dress and so on and so forth. Well, if you're not careful, she might look better then the bride. He teased, knowing that was quite simply impossible. No one could ever look more beautiful to Tristan then Brooklyn, on their wedding day, or any other day. Tristan had eyes for Brooklyn and only Brooklyn. Tristan nodded about the coordinator. I'm sure there will be enough room. It's not like it's going to be a huge guest list. Sure there would be family...hopefully from both sides, and some select friends and theater people, Oliver would probably bring Summer. Over all, he was thinking there likely wouldn't be more then 50 or 60 guests. Tristan was glad they were going to keep it "Smallish" and personal. He didn't care for weddings that had so many guests, the Bride and Groom were forced to spend most of their time walking around to table after table, after table to greet each guest. It just wasn't him, and he didn't think it was Brooklyn either. Tristan thought for a moment when Brooklyn asked if he wanted to write their own vows, then nodded, smiling. I think it would be nice...Make things more personal, rather then the same cookie cutter vows that everyone else does, y'know? Of course now he had put himself in the spot of having to write something that wouldn't be outdone for at least a few weddings, but he thought he could likely manage it. Now...we need talk honeymoon...How long we want to be gone, where we want to go. Tristan said, taking a sip of wine, then continuing to talk. I as thinking a month, maybe a month and a half? He was thinking it would be nice to have a good amount of time alone, before the media frenzy that would no doubt take place upon their return. I was thinking we could take a tour of Europe. Rome, Venice, Paris, Marseilles, Milan, Madrid, Greece? What do you think? Because if that's not something you'd be into, that's okay. Tristan wanted to make sure that all decisions were made jointly and were something they both wanted, especially with everything that was going on with Brooklyn's family. Tristan was planning to make a phone call to them, next time Brooklyn was away, and try to smooth things over. He knew the idea of her parents not being there, was taking its tole on her. When they had finished their supper, Tristan kissed Brooklyn's cheek and thanked her once again for the delicious meal. He helped her clean up, then excused himself to go upstairs and change into some lounge pants and a shirt. He went into their bedroom and pulled the desired clothing out of hid drawers. After dressing, he tossed the clothes he'd been wearing into the laundry shoot then went into the bathroom to brush his teeth and comb his hair. As he brushed his teeth, something in the waist can caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. Leaning over, Tristan squinted, his heart jumping as he realized what it as. A pregnancy test?! Reaching down, Tristan pulled it out of the trash and took a close look at it. Negative. Spitting and rinsing his mouth and toothbrush out, the headed back down stairs, test in hand. Brooklyn? He called and went into the living room where he heard her answer from. Brooklyn....why didn't you tell me you thought you were pregnant? He asked, sounding neither frustrated, nor angry, maybe a bit concerned and a little hurt. [/ul]

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn knew he was only joking back with her but still she leaned forward and kissed the spot she had poked. “there. All better now?” she was glad to have the fun in their relationship as well as both be able to do equal parts of work around the place. And she figured it was helping her get better at cooking too. Classes, her grandmother and just watching cooking shows was helping. Hey-a girl has to learn somehow! “I’m just glad your grandmother shared with me all her tips to keep you boys happy, including with favorite foods.” yes, when in England Brooklyn tried to spend at least one whole day with Tristan’s grandmother while he was at rehearsals. It was a great bonding experience. She could wait until tristan’s grandmother and her own could meet. They were sure to get along.
“as always, you have too much faith in me my love.” she rubbed her thumb along Tristan’s hand before she brought it to her lips to kiss his fingertips. She only let go of his hand with his comment about kylie looking better. “well if you pull a cliché running off with a bridesmaid I don’t have anyone else to blame but myself then, huh?” after a long day they both seemed to need a little bit of silly and fun to unwind a bit. She was already feeling muchc better then before he arrived. jut one of the man things she loved about Tristan. She never would thank oliver enough for telling her to stop being an idiot and go after Tristan. Never. Tristan was the single best thing to happen to Brooklyn in recent years. He brought so much joy into her life and was so good to her.
“true. When my aunt emailed me earlier she said her and the kids would come no matter what my father things. Plus, they could really get away for a bit. I offered for them to come to my place until this new wave of media frenzy calms down.” Brooklyn was in such a daze, though unsurprised, of the verdict she was completely forgetting she hadn’t told Tristan anything yet. Again, just too many other things on her mind. At least her aunt was on her side about things. She was trying to find a way to at least get Brooklyn’s mother to the wedding which she hoped would happen. even so, there were only a couple more aunts and uncles she’d want to invite and only one of those couples also had kids. Then just kylie, cameron, dominic, everleigh and that was it. Oliver was a given and he was already bringing summer so there we go! Brooklyn’s list was complete. Less then twenty people total. Small wedding accomplished.
“well I did leave the honeymoon choice to you so what could I possible be of use for?” as she began to sip her water she thought over the choices. A month? Wow that was...a long time. “I’m assuming you won’t have work until we get back so we really could enjoy a month? Honestly I’d prefer to disconnect digitally while we’re gone but I don’t want to suggest that if you need your phone on.” of course they would probably have to turn on their phones occasionally to tell everyone they were still alive but she’d like to spend 98% of their honeymoon as just them. sure they’d be going out to various things to have fun and other people were bound to be around but a honeymoon was about them and enjoying time celebrating being married now. Not spent tweeting or face booking or emailing tons of people.
“all those places sound good though. I’m not real picky about things.” they could stay in italy the whole month and she’d be happy. She was sure her and Tristan could find things to do anywhere. With it being summer there was bound to be all sorts of festivals going on after all. “I’m sure rome will be the first stop since we’ll already be italy,” she teased before she finished off her meal and stood to start cleaning up. Once her and tristan got al the dishes in the kitchen she loaded up the dishwasher before washing her hands and going to relax in the living room. She grabbed her pile of things and tried to think of something to do. There wasn’t much more she could design on kylie’s dress until the two talked a bit more tomorrow. Most of the wedding things would be gone over in a couple days with the planner. For the time being she figured she could work on a sketch for a random gown.
With her pad in her lap and bag of pencils by her side, Brooklyn began to sketch out ideas for bridesmaids gowns. She had been debating on having a specific line of affordable bridesmaids dresses at her shop so what better time to work then while Tristan was upstairs. When she heard his voice she didn’t look up as she continued to sketch. “I’m in the living room. Did you need something?” she hummed lightly to herself as she concentrated on the lines of the gown until she say Tristan in front of her. With the pregnancy test. Crap. Brooklyn had forgotten all about it in the hub-bub of her day. Literally it slipped entirely from her mind. At first her mouth opened then snapped closed like a fish as she tried to think of what to say. Tristan did not look happy at all. The back of her neck flushed red in embarrassment as she scratched at her forehead with the unsharpened end of the pencil that was in her hand. “I didn’t want you to be distracted at rehersals. And it was more to rule out that the stress of everything is making me late not pregnancy…” Brooklyn had missed her last two period entirely and so far was alte for this one. This had happened before when stressed out but considering who and Tristan had started to sleep together she just wanted to be sure.
“I swear Tristan that’s the only reason I didn’t tell you. Then I got so busy today I completely forgot about it.”

He replied, pretending to be rather indignant. Smiling, Tristan leaned down and kissed the tip of her nose sweetly, then chuckled softly. Mmmmm....I love you He said lazily. Tristan just liked to tell her that. There didn't have to be any particular reason, he just enjoyed saying it. He gave a little laugh when Brooklyn talked about his grandmother. Yes...Gran is good at shar4ing information...Sometimes too much information. Gran you see, had the tendency to share little stories about Tristan with Brooklyn, little embarrassing ones. Like when he'd tried to steal one of the Queen's rings as a child and how he'd stood up during a Duke's funeral and sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star during the eulogy. Brooklyn...you are the apple of my eye. I could never put too much faith in you. He smiled at her sweetly, meaning the words sincerely. EXACTLY! Tristan agreed playfully. You'd only have yourself to blame for making Kylie look more appealing then yourself....Especially knowing we men are easily swayed and distracted. Well maybe some men were, but Welcott men were not. Tristan knew that Brooklyn knew this well, else they wouldn't have been able to joke about it so free as they were right now. Part of the beauty of their relationship, was little jokes like this and the fact that they had never given each other real reason to be jealous or suspicious. they trusted one another fully and completely. Well I can always find a use for you somewhere He leaned over and kissed her cheek. Tristan nodded Yep, just you and me an entire month, doing whatever we want to do. Phones once a week to check in and let everyone know we're okay. Tristan was not one of those guys that was glued to his phone 24.7. He only used it a few times a day and didn't give it out to everyone he came in contact with. If he needed to give his number out to someone besides the director, producer, or a select few personal friends, he gave his home number, that we he could answer and or return the call in his own time and way. So disconnecting for as time would be no problem at all as far as he was concerned and he was glad Brooklyn felt the same way. Mmmmhmmm....You will LOVE Rome. It's just....one of the most amazing places on earth. Tristan visited Rome frequently throughout his life, both on business and pleasure. He knew all the best spots to visit and places to eat. Tristan sighed and shook his head a little. Look...Brooklyn...that's not just something you can forget! He sounded a bit flustered now. I mean...I understand and appreciate the fact that you didn't want me to be distracted....But we're supposed to be getting married here Brooklyn...You gotta put that stuff aside and focus on what is most important...which is open communication between us...Because if we don't have that, then we might as well give up now. Mayube some people would think that Tristan was making a Mountain out or a Mole Hill. But he wasn't really. This was bigger then a negative pregnancy test. This was about Brooklyn thinking she had to keep certain things from him due to certain circumstances. She couldn't think that way! She just couldn't. Look babe...I'm not trying to get on your case or ride you too hard....I just want you to know that, no matter what's going on, you can always come to me with it....I've done rehearsals under much heavier circumstances...I'm a big boy...I can handle it...okay? Tristan certainly didn't want to get in a fight over this. He was just kinda floored and shocked at finding that, and not hearing word one from Brooklyn on the subject. It had just thrown Tristan for a loop. That wasn't his fault. [/ul]

( STATUS ) COMPLETE “I will poke you all I want thank you very much!” Brooklyn lifted her face so her nose was stuck up slightly while she stuck her tongue out at him. When she pulled her tongue back in a giggle as she wrinkled up her nose to his kiss. “I guess I kind of love you back.” actually she loved Tristan-a lot. That was no secret just like how quickly and how hard she had fallen. From the first night they met the two just clicked. Then again Brooklyn had been her usual self in initiating conversation. The beginning had seemed to be awkward on tristan’s end but after they both relaxed it was enjoyable. Brooklyn had found him cute from the beginning but she liked they really fell getting to know one another, not just based on physical attraction.
A wide beam spread across her face. “oh she never shares too much information. Plus it’s fun. She promised me to show some photos she pulled out next time I go see her.” plus she was sure her grandmother would share just as many funny stories. And her aunt. and one of her uncles. Then Tristan would have just as many stories under his belt as well. The days leading up to their wedding as people arrived were bound to be tons of fun full of getting to know more about each other’s families and swapped stories in general. “yes I do know how easily you are swayed. Remember new years going from your date to me?” mischief was in her eyes as she looked at him adorningly.
“ok that works for me. I’m going to ask kylie to help run things with the shop while we’re gone. Show her all the bills to be paid and make sure things run smoothly until my new manager feels comfortable.” after the honeymoon Brooklyn would be able to run things from here. She had been setting it up to do just that. Hence trying to find a small studio space for herself. She’d have all the office equipment she’d need here and a place to put together gowns she was designing. She was even debating on having a webcam hook up so she could keep a bride updated despite being here in England. “yes well rome will be much more fun to see with you.” it maybe cheesy but oh well. They could be a fairly cheesy couple at times.
Brooklyn was...well she was hurt and mad right now. She shrank back into the couch as she glared at him through his little speech about open communication. Really? “um excuse I forgot about it, Tristan. Considering the list of other things I have done today and been worried about, a negative pregnancy test was bottom on the list. Especially since I only did it to confirm it was stress before I called my doctor since this has happened to me before.” her jaw was set tight but when tears sprang up to her eyes she got up from the couch to put some distance between her and Tristan. “and seriously? Why is each time I seem to do something that doesn’t fit into your perfect little bubble you have to say ‘we might as well give up now.’ that’s not exactly conducive to this discussion. Those are the worst words to say!” Brooklyn was really hurt when he said that. He had said that at new year’s as well when she just made a comment about having her picture taken. She’d like to think she was doing just fine now but when caught off guard, no, she hadn’t been happy then. Now she was getting used to it or finding ways to dodge the paparazzi.
“if you didn’t want a fight maybe you should think before you speak. It’s not that I didn’t think I couldn’t come to you I just didn’t want to worry you. Big difference!” Brooklyn let out a grunt of frustration as she turned away from Tristan, a hand running through her brunette locks before she tugged on them a bit. Brooklyn had always had a bad temper so she was trying to keep herself calm right now. He should know that considering he was there when she was fighting with her father after Tristan proposed!

Tristan asked in his best, sexy, tone. Well guess what Miss Sawyer....I've already got you, and I know I have. He winked at her and hugged, giving a little grunt as he did so. Brooklyn was the light of his life, she was exactly what he'd always wanted in a spouse and she was to become his and he hers, very soon. It ever ceased to amaze him when dreams came true. Maybe to the rest of the world, Brooklyn and Tristan seemed like an unlikely couple. Maybe people thought Brooklyn was out of his league (which she was!), or maybe they thought Brooklyn was below him socially because she didn't come from money. But what other people thought didn't matter to them. All that mattered to Tristan was that he loved Brooklyn and she loved him and that they were committed to spending the rest of their lives with each other. What they had, was truly a beautiful thing. Well...that's your very biased opinion....Your grandmother never shares embarrassing stories about you! Tristan protested Well...at least...not many. He could think of one or two things her Grandmother had shared with him that could be construed by Brooklyn as "embarrassing". But he liked to hear it just the same. But anyway, I am going to have to preview these photos before she show's them to you! They're probably ones of me and Oli naked....What is it with people and taking pictures of their naked children...It's disgusting and terribly embarrassing when one's grown up! Tristan pretended to be surprised at her when she mentioned his New Years Date. Oh! ho! Ho! You do play dirty Miss Sawyer, don't you? He got up from the couch and started walking towards the door. Well since you're so smart, maybe I'll just have to go back to her and make amends, now won't I? He continued on with the charade, even grabbing his jacket and stating to put his shoes on. Tristan smiled and nodded when Brooklyn said that Rome would be more fun to see wit him. She was never going to forget this honeymoon. Tristan was going to spoil her rotten. But he didn't care! She was his do that to and he was going to have a blast doing it. As far as Tristan was concerned, he could never do too much for Brooklyn. She was the woman he was going to spend the rest of his life with! He was only going to do this marriage thing once. So it was going to be completely and utterly spectacular! Oh come on Brooklyn! Each time? Really? Tristan rolled his eyes. You're taking this completely out of context and you know it. Stop and think, after everything, you think I really mean we should just stop and give up now? He huffed. Do I really need to break this down for you? Tristan asked. Brooklyn was smarter than this and he knew it. She was just being plain silly. You know I have only said that one other time...And you know what the context was too, so don't even try to use that against me! I was letting you know that if you couldn't handle what my life entails and the affect it would have on our life together then I could let you go, because I love....That's really...kinda low and totally unfair of you to try and bring that into this now and act like I meant something bad by it...Give it up Brooklyn. No, Tristan was not pleased with her for twisting his words and context into ammunition for this conversation. Brooklyn had known what he meant at the time and she knew what he meant now. She was just angry at him for calling her out. Tristan shook his head. That's my point Brooklyn...I don't want you to worry about what might worry me! It's no longer just me or you anymore. It's us. We're getting married. We can't worry about worrying each other. We just have to put stuff out there when it's going on....Okay? I just want to know what's going on. Your concerns are my concerns and your worries are my worries. That's how it's supposed to be...So don't take that way...okay? That's all I'm asking....just to be informed. He said calmly, his voice dwindling off at the end. Tristan really hadn't meant to upset her, or get angry himself. It had just all taken him so much by surprise and so off guard, he hadn't know how to react. And Brooklyn trying to change the meanings of what he'd said, didn't help matters one bit. Tristan hadn't want to fight. He hated when the fought. Fortunately it happened very few times. They were always too happy to see each other to fight. But each couple had their problems and Tristan and Brooklyn had their fair share. Fighting from time to time was inevitable. But like most every fight, this too would blow over. [/ul]

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn mock scoffed at Tristan but the look on her face was far from being cross. “me? Playing hard to get? I think you have me confused with your other fiancée.” she nuzzled the side of his neck as she giggled. Brooklyn was not a giggly woman but when around Tristan it sort of just happened. He was just perfect. Sweet, caring for those he loved and always there when she needed him. And patient. Brooklyn knew she wasn’t perfect and raised in the same social class as him but she was doing all she could to learn. She just hoped there weren’t any major snafus because that could not only prove improper but highly embarrassing for her as well as Tristan depending on the situation. “pft that’s because I’m awesome and hardly do anything embarrassing so she doesn’t have much to share.”
Brooklyn chuckled. “I think that’s the point, dear. I promise I won’t tease you both too much. Though seeing oli’s bare behind is not something I can recover from easily. Younger or present years.” thankfully that had never happened or it’d just be even more awkward. Beyond awkward actually. Nearly as awkward as new year’s eve. When he started to walk away Brooklyn laughed before going over to him and grabbing a hold of his coat. “I don’t think so mister. You can only leave me for kylie now,” Brooklyn chuckled out before she wrapped her arms around him to pull his lips down to hers. She only parted when he said he needed to go upstairs.
Brooklyn knew she was in a tough spot with no wait out. Tristan didn’t seem t believe she really could forget something like this. It was negative. To her that really wasn’t worth remembering unless they were trying to get pregnant and that’s why she took it. They weren’t trying and it only confirmed that it was stress for her. After all, by this time with how many periods she had missed any test would come up positive by now. So it literally just fell from her mind. It probably wasn’t good something like a negative pregnancy test fell from her thoughts but it was what happened.
“how am I taking it out of context? What other meaning is there to ‘we might as well give up now’? because I don’t know of any other meaning behind it besides to put an end to things!” either she was really that dumb or Tristan needed to learn how to word things better because she couldn’t find any other reasoning for those words. She even tried to think of something else it could mean and just couldn’t. “ok fine that was a low blow but considering you’ve said that to me twice now it’s a little hard to let it go in this moment. There is no other meaning to give up now, Tristan! Stop being scared when every little thing doesn’t go your way.” Brooklyn herself was a big girl and could take anything. She could easily adapt. She was adapting to a world without her father in it. Adapting to a whole new life in England. She was learning all kinds of things to fit into his world such as etiquette, dealing with the press and even learning to cook. All Brooklyn cared about was he could adapt a little too and to her that meant not freaking out if she did or said something wrong. She was a human being. She forgot things. She messed up. End of story.
Brooklyn pressed her lips together in defeat. Yes she saw his point but she still didn’t like how he had gotten mad at her or the words he said. “fine next time I’ll tell you when something like this happens. Though this really wasn‘t a concern. I knew what the problem was I just had to take he test because I knew they‘d ask that as soon as I called,” Brooklyn said in a frustrated tone. She uncrossed her arms and let them fall limply to her sides. She really was not in the best of moods now so she just grabbed her sketching items. “I have to go email my aunt back.” with her items in hand she made her way up to their room where Brooklyn’s laptop was charging. She really just needed to get away from the volatile situation before it exploded. She didn’t want to fight like her parents did. Their fights were highly volatile and it was a wonder they were still functioning as a couple. Then again at this point her mother just gave into anything and everything her father wanted. That wasn’t Brooklyn. She couldn’t just give in.
Brooklyn put her sketching items on a shelf before she slipped her flats off on her side of the bed and sat on the mattress cross legged. She wasn’t walking away from the discussion just cooling down a moment. So many things Brooklyn wanted ot let out in the heat of the moment were on her tongue but she kept a tight clamp on it. The words were hurtful and just cause an even bigger fight. See? Adapting. Brooklyn was adapting ot being in a real relationship again and that meant not saying the first things that came to her mind. When she pulled up her email she checked a few unread ones before rereading the one her aunt had sent. A melancholy look fell over her features. Brooklyn was hoping for a good night when Tristan got home, not this. Oh well. Things just can’t always go as planned.

He asked. What a scandalous accusation. Tristan listened to her giggling, which made him smile. He loved to make her giggle and feel like school girl. He so enjoyed having fun with her this way. These lighthearted moments between them, would be among his best memories of their relationship. Tristan grinned when Brooklyn said she hardly ever did anything embarrassing. Ohhhh right...I forgot...That's why I'm marrying you! He face palmed himself, pretending to remember some forgotten conclusion. Seeing Oli's bare behind is something I haven't yet recovered from. Tristan joked, making himself laugh. It had been years since Tristan had seen the pictures of himself and Oliver from their younger years. There were some he had at his own place. A few of his parents and him and Oliver together, the day before they died. Tristan pulled them out now and again to take a look, keep the memory of what they looked like, fresh in his mind. It was hard for him to look at them sometimes though. It usually made him rather emotional....Tristan hated to get emotional. Tristan felt Brooklyn's arms close around him and he turned around, smiling brightly and leaned down to kiss her. Poor Kylie...she probably doesn't realize she's such a home wrecker! Kylie was anything but a home wrecker. Tristan liked her and enjoyed her company. She was sweet and a great r9end to Brooklyn. In fact, Tristan didn't think he could ask for a better friend for his lovely fiancee. Tristan sighed. Look Brooklyn... He crossed his arms. All I was saying, is....IF..okay IF...we can't have open communication and ONLY IF....THEN...we should just give up now....There is a big difference between that and what you've interpreted it as, which is that I'm saying "We should just give up now" because we had a disagreement....The point is, that I believe we can, which is why said IF....Maybe it's just something we need to work on. Okay? You're blowing this way out of proportion. Tristan was calming down, but he was still quite irritated. How could Brooklyn really not realize what he meant and how he meant it?! After everything they were to each other. Could she really think he'd be willing to give up so easily. No. Tristan would fight for Brooklyn to the bitter end if he ever lost her. And what is this idea that I have this perfect world? What the frick is that about all of the sudden?! Tristan asked, his hands on his hips now. I'm not scared of things in my life getting messed up Brooklyn! I've been through more then most! In case you forgot, I lost my granddad, I lost both my parents on the same day as a little kid! I lost my sister-in-law...I almost lost my brother over that....I've had to fight to get to where I am in life...nothing, NOTHING has been handed to me! My life is so far from perfect Brooklyn....I just....I dunno what that's even supposed to mean. Tristan waved his hands at her and turned around, stepping away a bit. Tristan listened as Brooklyn spoke. At least she admitted she'd stooped pretty low on her last comment. It's not about the test Brooklyn... He said in a low voice, not turning around. I just want to know what's going on...that's all. Tristan nodded wordlessly when she said she was going to go email her aunt back. He dropped to the couch when she'd left the room and put his head in his hands, tugging at the ends of his unruly hair, and sighing heavily Was what he asked, so very unreasonable? Was it such a bd thing to ask Brooklyn to at least inform him if she thought there was even an outside chance she could be pregnant, considering it would be his child if she was. No, Tristan didn't think he was being unreasonable at all. Tristan grabbed a pillow and laid down on the couch, positioning it comfortably under his head. He didn't no whether or not to talk to Brooklyn or just leave her be for now. He decided to leave her be, but silence wouldn't necessarily resolve the matter between them. Reaching for his phone, Tristan picked it up and dialed his brothers number. Hi....You're not busy are you? He asked, then nodded. Uh.... he sighed. Brooklyn and I had a fight...Yeah..I know...doesn't happen very often....No, no...it'll be okay.....It's just... Tristan shrugged. I dunno...maybe I'm just nuts...Here's the deal...Brooklyn and I have had sex, okay? And I know what the stand has been on that...but it's just complicated and it's a choice I made and its done now...so I don't wanna hear the speech...Anyways, Brooklyn took a pregnancy test...and it was negative....but she didn't even tell me and I found it in the trash. When I asked her about it, she said she just forgot about it...And I said I thought that was a pretty serous thing to forget. Tristan sighed again, heavily. And she said I'm just afraid of bad things happening in my perfect world....I don't know what that's even supposed to mean.....I know! Yeah...I'd appreciate it...Thanks....Alright...Love you too. Tristan hung up his phone and laid back on the couch once more. He felt better now that he'd talked to Oliver and that Oliver was going to call Brooklyn and try to smooth it over for him. Yawning, he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, thinking it was probably better to sleep downstairs tonight. Sure he could have slept in one of the guest rooms, but he didn't want to risk Brooklyn hearing him come up and the fight continuing. [/ul] ********* ******* ******* ********* Oliver said cheerfully. So Tristan called me and kinda told me you two had a falling out....Don't be mad at him...Brothers have to confide in each other y'know? Oliver sighed softly and laughed a little, knowing his younger brother could be a bit naive when dealing with women. One had to handle them with kid gloves. Let him slide on this one okay? He's been through a lot. I know Tristan and you know Tristan...and we both know he didn't mean anything negative by his comments...He was just trying to make a point...He loves you...he worships you Brooklyn....Don't make more out of this then it is okay? Oliver tried to reason with her. Love you...see you when you get back, okay? Oliver loved Brooklyn and Tristan both very much and they were perfect for each other. It would kill Tristan if he ever lost her and Oliver was here to try and make sure that didn't happen.[/ul]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 400px; background-color: #464646; padding:20px; border-top: 10px #7D0000 solid; border-bottom: 10px #7D0000 solid;] there‘s a fire starting in my heart “well you are in the spotlight. What fun is it to be there without a little scandal, darling?” then again being with Brooklyn was probably enough for the gossip hungry harpies for now. After all she was pretty much a mystery to them. Little facts here and there revealed but that was about it. They really didn’t have much to work on and it was kind of fun for Brooklyn to leave them all guessing like this. Her nose wrinkled up as she giggled. “yup! One of the many reasons I presume but that is number one.” she winked playfully at him before she burst into laughter about oliver’s bare butt. Teas actually formed in her eyes from the force of the laughter. Oh man she was so glad she didn’t have siblings ot be scarred like that from. Just little ol’ Brooklyn for her parents!
There was a dramatic sigh from her lips. “no she doesn’t. our friendship will be damaged beyond repair after this. And poor cameron. I guess we can even go more cliché-you get with kylie and I get with cameron.” that’d be the furthest from what anyone wanted.
Brooklyn balled up her fists as she growled in frustration. This whole thing was ridiculous! What was so hard about her having forgotten about it. “first off, no one said we didn’t have open communication! I did plan to tell you but I honestly forgot about it. Been a little busy today and two are you listening to yourself? There is no other way that ‘we should just give up now’ can mean! what you seem to mean and what that phrase means are two totally different things! So no, I am not blowing things out of proportion.” seriously-what planet was he living on? There wasn’t that much of a culture barrier to where things could be taken that differently. Ok that was another low blow about things in his perfect life being messed up. Brooklyn honestly had no arguments back to him at this point and she shifted uncomfortably. “I’m not saying everything has been handed to you but it seems like when things aren’t how you see them you seem to get upset. I don’t know…” Brooklyn trailed off knowing there she didn’t really have an argument left.
Brooklyn threw her hands up in frustration! “I just said I’d tell you when something big happens and you just had to throw another comment in. I mean seriously, just drop it.” Brooklyn hated this completely pointless argument. Yet another reason why she decided to go upstairs to cool off. This argument had gotten completely stupid and repetitive. Emailing her aunt had calmed her down plenty then she went in the bathroom to get ready for bed. She took her bracelets and earrings off and tossed them in the small jewelry box she had here that Tristan had gotten her. as she went in the bathroom she took off her clothes and gathered them in a pile before she proceeded to wash her face and brush her teeth. One she had pulled her nightgown on, Brooklyn began to brush her hair when she heard her cell phone go off. She kept brushing her hair as she went to answer her phone. Oliver? With a furrowed brow she answered the phone.
“hi oliver. Isn’t it pretty alte there? Is everything ok?” Brooklyn went form concerned(how could she not be after everything that had been happening back home?) to frustration. Seriously? Tristan had called oliver to smooth things over? That was not the way to do things. She set her brush on the dresser before she scratched at her brows. “I thought this was all done with, there was no reason for him to call you oliver but fine. I hear what you’re saying.” there was a pause as she shook her head in frustration. “love you too. Night.” Brooklyn shut her phone off. She took a couple moments to calm herself by gathering up her laundry into the hamper and getting the bed ready for them to sleep. Which...
Brooklyn reached to slip on her slippers and then grabbed her robe before she headed downstairs. When she saw the living room darkened she just got a bit more confused. With her hands on her hips she looked down at Tristan’s sleeping form. Her lips pursed before she reached under him, yanked the pillow out, then gently hit the pillow against his stomach. “hey! Why did you call your brother when everything was settled? or mostly settled but we just both needed to take a moment.” Brooklyn sighed before she lifted his legs and sat under them. “that doesn’t help things, Tristan, by having someone else come in and fix things. That just makes things worse.” her voice had no malice. Brooklyn’s arms rested on his legs and she ran a hand in a path along one of the lower half of his legs. Her head fell back on the couch as she looked at the ceiling.
“I told you I see you’re point but you have to know I grew up keeping anything stressful form my father when he had bad things going on at work. That is what I am used to. I know you’ve had a lot going on with work between rehearsals and dance practice so I did what I know how to do. That’s how I was raised. It has nothing to do with not having open communication. Which, speaking of that,” Brooklyn huffed out in a sigh. “my uncle was found guilty of attempted murder of my father.” her shoulders rose and fell. Might as well put it out there while they were on the subject of honesty and putting things out there.
“don’t do that again. Don’t run to oliver to solve any disagreement we have.”

Reaching up with his thumb, Tristan gently wiped under her eyes where her make up had smeared a little. Then he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her tenderly. Well...Kylie and me I see....But not you and Cameron. I'm sorry that you just won't be able to see your away around this and be friends with Kylie...But if that's how it must be, then there's really nothing anyone can say. Tristan could hardly get it all out with a straight face. It was so ridiculous and funny. Tristan and Brooklyn were committed to one another for life and so were Kylie and Cameron. Tristan had never looked twice at Kylie in a romantic fashion, in fact, he'd never looked once at Kylie in a romantic fashion. And Brooklyn had never looked at Cameron that way or vise versa. Tristan huffed and shook his head. Brooklyn....your'e just not getting it okay. It's fine. I'm sorry I said anything about it....I don't want to fight about it anymore. Brooklyn just wasn't getting this and it wasn't that hard. Tristan knew he could be bad at expressing what he meant sometimes. But he knew he wasn't that bad. He really wasn't sure if she truly wasn't getting it, or was just saying she didn't because she was on the defensive and just didn't want to admit it. Either way it was frustrating, but it really didn't matter now. They'd had this lovely evening and Tristan didn't want to fight anymore. Brooklyn had really hurt him by talking as if he thought his life was perfect. Was that really how she viewed him? Was it jealousy on her part for some reason? Tristan raised an eyebrow and sighed at her comment. Well isn't that true of everyone...I mean like right now...you're not seeing what I mean about the just giving up thing and you're upset...It's just not how you see it. It happens to everyone. Again, what was her point?! When she threw her hands up in the air and got upset again, Tristan just shook his head. Fine! Good. He said and plopped onto the couch. After talking to Oliver for a bit, then laying down, Tristan tried not to think about the fight, knowing it would just frustrate and very slowly drifted to sleep. He hadn't been asleep very long when he was startled by the pillow being ripped from beneath his head and getting hit with it. Crikey Moses! Tristan yelled, his heart jumping into his throat. When he realized it was Brooklyn, his body relaxed a bit, but his heart was still in his throat. I...uh....well I didn't think it was exactly...resolved. He shook his head a little, still being out of it from being asleep. Even though Brooklyn was reprimanding him, she was doing it affectionately, which made him feel a little better about everything. Tristan remained silent while Brooklyn spoke, just hearing her out. He didn't this to break out into another fight. It really wasn't like them to fight. Especially after having so much fun together earlier in the evening. Well to be fair....I didn't ask Oliver to call...I just needed someone to talk to. But you're right. And I should have told him not to. Tristan sat up and pulled her close to him and kissed her. I'm sorry about your Uncle babe. Tristan said, stroking her hair in a soothing way. Is there anything I can do? He knew there wasn't anything to do about her Uncle. But maybe there was something he could do for her, to help her feel a little bit better. Brooklyn...I am sorry about tonight. I hate fighting with you. I love you hun. He gave her a little squeeze, happy that things were calm again.[/ul]
