Today was that day. He had been back for almost three weeks now and Lexi decided to take him down to Wells for a few days. They had left earlier in the day and it took roughly four hours. The two had grabbed a quick lunch but by the time Lexi pulled up to the beach house she had rented for them at three in the afternoon she was starving an suggested an early supper wherever Dean wanted.
The car ride had been enjoyable. There was some chatiing but also moments of silence. Now that they had moved on from the most awkward parts of him being back they were falling back into being more like them as a couple. It didn’t ake long for them to relearn one another once they both began to open up to it. Lexi’s heart broke at night seeing how bad Dean’s nightmares had gotten along with him not wanting to be alone. She had decided to take a month of leave from work in order to be home with him all the time. He tried to keep how bad things had gotten from her but he couldn’t. Instead Lexi napped when she could during the day so she could easily wake up at night to comfort Dean as he needed her. And she hardly went anywhere without him. The first couple days he was home Lexi had to get away to talk to Jayce but didn’t tell Dean that. She had Oliver come by to get to know Dean while she ran some “errands”. her errands being ending things with Jayce. That had been difficult but for the best because now she could move forward with her husband and soon enough she’d tell Dean about her trysts with Jayce. Just not yet. It was his birthday and Lexi wouldn’t ruin that.
And Lexi was happy with her decision though that probably ahd to do with Jayce avoid her. That she was ok with because it felt like she was falling in love with her husband all over again. Not that she had ever stopped loving him but just the moments spent together were intense and wonderful. They had yet to be anymore intimate then some kissing, hugging and cuddling up together but Lexi wasn’t totally against being with him. She had just wanted them to both get past as much of the awkwardness as possible. While everything wasn’t perfect they were better. They were getting better.
After arriving at the beach house, Lexi and Dean brought their things in before they began to get ready for their early dinner. She had brought a deep blue slip style dress that had bits of black tulle underneath and was backless except for parts of the straps. A black sweater made of the same jersey material as the dress was pulled on to keep her warm as she stepped into her nude colored peep toe heels with black lace overlay and black bow. She wore just simple pearl stud earrings that matched an antique style filigree heart necklace. Her hair was pulled back in a simple manner while she had a slight smoky eye going and of course her rings. Lexi was glad to have her wedding rings back on where they felt like they belonged. She inspected herself once more before she headed down the hall to where Dean was and stepped forward to wrap her arms around his waist and press a sweet kiss on his lips. ”So did you decide where you wanted to go eat?” She kept her arms locked around his waist as she looked upwards into his eyes, swaying them just slightly on the spot. Lexi was as back to being her happy self that she was with Dean and she loved it.

dean had forgotten all about the fact that it was his birthday month. much more important things were going on, so when lexi mentioned going down to Wells he was surprised, but happy, of course. it had been three weeks since his return and they had made good progress in their relationship, he thought. despite the both of them having changed in some ways over the past few years, them being back together seemed to be changing them back to the people they had been. at least partially.
they'd reached the beach house at three o'clock, having taken four hours to get there with one stop along the way. it had been an enjoyable ride, moments of talking, laughter and silence. but it was more comfortable and natural feeling than their first few awkward days. they felt more like a couple. dean had fallen asleep at one point during the drive, though it hadn't been more of an hour. the usual thing had woken him up; a nightmare. it was the same one that he always had. he wasn't sure which was worse; knowing what you were going to see every time you drifted off to sleep, or the unknown of something new every time. either way, he hated it. sleeping in the car had been even harder, however, with the constant movement, which made him more restless than usual. once dean had jumped awake, he didn't bother trying to sleep again, not even wanting to, really. plus, he wanted to keep lexi company for the rest of the ride.
when she suggested eating an early dinner, he was only too eager to agree. dean was surprised at how hungry he was already, since they'd eaten just a couple hours before. now he just had to decide where to eat. lexi had left it up to him, so he spent some time thinking about it. he'd craved all sorts of things while still on the island, but now that he was back, he hadn't thought much about food in general. the idea of eating fast food again, however, was very appetizing, no matter how unhealthy it was. he didn't really care at this point, and it wasn't like he was going to eat it all the time. but he'd gone the last three years with a pretty limited diet, certainly no burgers and fries.
dean helped lexi unload the vehicle, then watched as she headed down the hall to change. he then moved to his own bag of clothes, wondering what he should wear. she hadn't told him what her own outfit would be, but if he knew her, it was his birthday, and she'd be dressed real nice. dean had, with lexi's help, gone out and bought some clothes. both casual and a bit dressier. he decided on a nice dress shirt, the sleeved rolled up part way, dark wash jeans, and a black pair of dress shoes. he didn't have to do anything with his hair, of course, and the only other thing he wore was his watch and his wedding ring. as he looked down at it, dean remembered again that he needed to have it cleaned. he made a mental note to get that done once they got back.
fast food was out of the question, he knew, especially when lexi came down the hallway in that dress. dean was at a loss for words, just staring as she walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. he did the same just before she placed her lips on his. he smiled through the kiss, deepening it just a little as his arms tightened around her waist. dean looked down at her as they swayed a bit, still holding each other. "i'm afraid i haven't thought of anything besides fast food," he said with a laugh. part of it was the fact that he didn't know what restaurants there were in the area. they'd passed quite a few on the way in, but he couldn't remember the names of most of them. "The Steakhouse" was about the only one he could remember, that didn't have anything to do with seafood. that was the last thing he wanted. "Is The Steakhouse nice?" dean wasn't sure if she'd ever eaten there, but he certainly hadn't.
will make this pretty later!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- While driving, Lexi had watched Dean while he dozed. A sad feeling settled in her chest. She wished she could take away his nightmares. They had talked a little about them but nothing in depth. She didn't want to push him but she did notice they had gotten worse since the island. She just kept silent and he knew to come to her if he wanted. She only interfered when they got really bad. The ones where Dean ended up tossing in his sleep. She soothed him when he suddenly awoke, even in the car. That was no different then before he went missing. So much of their relationship was falling back into place. No, Lexi knew it would never truly be the same bit it was enough that she was happy.
Three years. Three years she had longed to have her husband back and now here he was. Despite Dean being through so much hardship, he was the one being patient with her. Sure, there were things like his nightmares and restoring his status as living, not deceased, that she was by his side for but that was barely anything. Lexi was still a bit held back with physical contact. She knew her husband wanted it-it wasn't that hard to tell-but she had wanted more time. Dean hadn't said anything at all about wanting to push the subject. In fact, all he told her was they'd go at the pace that Lexi wanted. She was glad for it but now, that they were better, she had something special planned. Lexi hadn't said anything to him but planned to just go through with it. She already knew it'd be received well so that didn't make her nervous. Lexi was just generally nervous right now.
Lexi knew she should've figured out where Dean wanted to eat before getting dressed but it was his birthday-she wanted to wear something nice for him. The look on his face made her heart speed out of control. That was more of a reaction then she expected to come from him. Her mouth went dry a moment watching him but she swallowed it back. Even after all this time, Dean had an effect over her entirety-her heart, her thoughts and even her bodily reactions. She actually had to remind herself to pull away from the kiss. They needed food and couldn't get carried away, even if her thoughts were. She laughed as she fiddled with his collar and smoothed it out. Lexi looked from his collar up to his eyes. ”Well why didn't you tell me sooner? I would've given up cooking to get you a greasy burgers and some overly salted fries." Plus, it would've been nice to get away from Daniel but she wouldn't say that. Since Leila had left, the house had been miserable. It had only been a couple days but those couple days were enough. She heard the two arguing on the phone. Between being there for Dean as well as now trying to keep Daniel's spirits out had Lexi spread thin. She was being pulled every which way. Plus, the guilt that the photo had gotten sent was overwhelming. She had thought about it-even addressed the letter-but had no intentions of sending it. Unfortunately a maid had seen it and sent it off. Lexi felt awful but wanted to move on from that. She had gone to talk to Leila about going back to Daniel but to no avail. She'd try again once home. These few days were all about Dean and the two of them relaxing. Alone.
Lexi sighed in an exaggerated manner. ”Well, I suppose we can have fast food. But we're going to eat it here on the back deck." There was a playful look in her eyes as she wrapped her arms tighter around his neck. ”Besides, the Steakhouse is busy at this time and call me selfish but I want my husband all to myself."
