[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- Lexi looked at her phone after hanging it up, a heavy look on her features. Dean was in California getting his life back in order and he sounded...different. Then again things with them had been tense since he found out about Lexi having been with Jayce. Including once after Dean came back. She hadn’t meant for it to come out how it did but she had wanted to be honest. She was trying to make their marriage work and that included honesty. Apparently that bit of honesty wasn’t the right thing to do. Dean was hurt-really hurt. He seemed to see her point of things with them were still on uneasy grounds when he returned and she had technically been with Jayce more then casually so it was hard to just end it right there. Lexi told him after that time she wasn’t with him again but the damage was done.
Lexi stood there on the beach, the water just barley reaching her toes as she stood there clutching her sandals. Her bag was across her body where she wore a floral print maxi dress. She wore some simple gold toned jewelry along with her memory ring for Zachary and her wedding rings. Lexi refused to take off her wedding rings until she knew if the damage could be fixed or not. She prayed it could. Lexi was fighting tooth and nail for their marriage and she hoped it wasn’t in vain. After all she left an equally great guy to be there for Dean. Ugh how did her life get so confusing! Before everything for Lexi was simple now it was one, giant mess.
She sighed heavily, not wanting to think too hard on things but it was difficult. Her body turned so her feet could carry her to walk along the edge of the ocean. The salt later licked her feet and splashed along the bottom edge of her dress. She didn’t care. It was just clothes. Besides she loved the smell of the ocean in general. It soothed her. Right now Lexi needed that because she felt like she had no one to talk to about everything going on. Oliver was happy with Summer, Daniel and Troy would freak out when she told them everything and she couldn’t go to Jayce. Jayce would just say ‘I told you so’ and be all smug about it. Then she didn’t know if she could trust herself around him. With him things sort of happened without even thinking. So Lexi was stuck here, at the beach, alone with her thoughts and trying not to let the tears escape.

Mercy had finally settled into her home and bought herself some new clothes. That day she'd decided to head to the beach and maybe get some more illustrations or just enjoy the day. As she walked along the beach her mind wandered, mostly to places she didn't want it to go but others were better thoughts. She thought of the guy she'd met at the park, a slight smile wanting to make it's way to her face, but she was wary. She wasn't about to just throw away the walls she'd built up from her past, but she thought maybe she could open them up a bit, lower her defenses. Looking out to the ocean her gaze swept across the beach to spoke a young woman like herself. At first she was simply going to ignore her but as she walked closer on her way down the beach, picking up a shell or sea glass that caught her eye, she noticed that the woman appeared upset. Mercy didn't normally talk to strangers, but she had a soft heart and when she saw people hurting she had to help. Hesitantly she slowed down as she got close, biting her lip as she debated whether or not to speak. It wasn't till the woman appeared to be crying that she made up her mind and spoke up. "Hello there, are you alright?" she asked gently, hesitantly. The last thing she wanted was to appear nosy. She knew some people often were off put by people prodding into personal matters but all Mercy wanted to do was help. She vaguely remembered her mother telling her when she was little how she was born a caring person and because of that she'd have to be careful in the world, that had certainly proven true.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- Lexi didn’t realize she had started to cry until she felt the tears dropping of her cheek. Her hand went up to swipe at them as she sniffled. Lexi hated to cry in public but it was hard not to. She had never been in this position before. Then again she hadn’t cheated before. Yet on the other end it was all completely fuzzy. She had technically been in a relationship of sorts with Jayce before Dean got back. So really she was in a really tough position at that time and had just given into Jayce. It was hard to just end things with him when it had been that intense with them. That’s also why she didn’t go to see him again while alone. She was afraid of something happening. Not that she’d sleep with him again but something wrong could be said or done and other people would see. That just wouldn’t bode well at all.
Lexi took off her sunglasses and put them on top of her head so she could swipe at the tears that were falling. All that did was make more fall. Lexi was so confused. She wanted her marriage to work but wasn’t sure if Dean did. And if it didn’t should she go back to Jayce? Or would Jayce likely come to her? Ok that scenario was very unlikely considering how badly she had hurt him. And really, should she go back to him after everything? That’d just be even more awkward considering he was Dean’s brother! Lexi really wished she had never put herself in this position. It was so confusing and hard for her to navigate.
When she heard a voice behind her, Lexi turned and flushed red in embarrassment. A nervous chuckle left her lips as she swallowed a sob and wiped at her cheeks again, glad that her tears were finally slowing down. ”Not really but I will be eventually. Just...one of those days you know?” Lexi felt bad for making this stranger worry about her when there was no reason to. Lexi was just being silly about a mistake she had made. A horrible, horrible mistake.

Mercy gave a shy but assuring smile as the young woman whirled around, clearly flustered as she assured her everything was okay. She nodded understanding, not having any desire to get into her personal problems. "Well I hope whatever is burdening you ends up alright, I'm Mercy by the way." She told her. It only seemed fitting that she reveal her name, after all she had approached her in the first place and it would show poor manners not to do so. She offered her hand to shake as an after thought. She hadn't really made any friends yet and this woman seemed very kind, a part of her hoped maybe they could be friends, but the realistic side of her thought she was just being an annoying and weird pain in the neck. She should have simply left this woman alone but she just had to stop and say hi. Now wishing to fill the awkward silence she spoke up. "I'm new here, just moved to town but I hope to stay awhile." she gabbed. Thinking a moment Mercy could not believe how many times since moving here that she'd shocked herself. It seemed that with each new day she grew more confident and comfortable where she was. Her words were less guarded and her actions no longer attempted to be made unnoticed. She was beginning to grow free of the clutches that had ensnared her from her childhood and followed her into womanhood. Thankfully she'd made her escape while she still had time to spare in her life. Her main focuses now were to get her book done and published, along with healing from the wounds of the past. She needed to shake off her nightmares and learn how to truly live.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- Lexi didn’t like to worry her family which was why she had come out here to the beach to be alone. She didn’t want to be near the prying ears of family as she talked to Dean. Thankfully she had done that because the conversation wasn’t exactly how Lexi wanted it to go. Maybe he just needed more time. Yes, more time is what Lexi would give him before she tried to talk again. Then again she thought maybe she should write a letter. Even if she didn’t send it right off she’d have time to perfect it then send it off. Sometimes a letter was the best way to get your point across. Maybe, just maybe it would work in this case. At least Lexi hoped it would. That was the next thing she planned to try.

And if she hated to break down in front of her family, she loathed doing it in front of strangers. There was as trained smile as she nodded lightly. ”Me too. Only time will tell though.” Any marriage took work, right? This was just a bump in the road. A major bump but one none-the-less. They had gotten through him being found alive after three years on a deserted island. That was a huge hurdle and this was just another one that Lexi was confidant the could get through if he forgave her. ”I’m Alexandria but everyone calls me Lexi. Much easier to remember.” Lexi chuckled a bit, glad for the distraction of someone else to talk to. She mindlessly twirled her wedding rings on her finger as she looked over at the ocean a moment before her gaze turned to the brunette haired woman.
”Oh? Where’d you move from?” Lexi wasn’t asking just to be polite but because she was genuinely curious. Lexi enjoyed ot meet new people, no matter the circumstances.

Mercy gave Lexi another reassuring smile before nodding as she introduced herself. "That's a beautiful name." She told her before gazing at the ocean and rubbing her arms a moment. Finally she decided it'd be okay to tell her a little about herself. Jack hadn't found her yet and it seemed that there was the hopeful possibility he never would. After she realized she'd zoned out a moment she immediately spoke up, embarrassed that she had just stood there. "I moved here from Virginia, the name really spoke to me." She said to her with a bit of an embarrassed laugh. It sounded a bit stupid, corny really, but it was the truth. She remembered standing nervously in the bus depot, hoping desperately that Jack hadn't noticed her gone. She had glanced over the destination board desperately, praying that some name would pop out and that she'd be able to pick. She remembered being about ready to burst into tears of frustration and simply give up and hurry home before Jack even noticed her and the money gone, but then she had spotted it, the word Hope. She had nearly scoffed at first thinking it absolutely ridiculous that the word Hope would be anywhere on that board, but at a second glance she realized that indeed the name of the town displayed was Hope Harbor. After that she had rushed to purchase her ticket and be off before anything else could happen to her. She had never felt more relieved in her life than the moment she was off that bus and officially in Hope Harbor. Even though her time here hadn't been long, she felt so in love and at home here in Hope Harbor.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- Lexi felt a true smile forming on her face. ”thank you. I was named after my grandmother.” lexi had even been fairly close with that grandmother. Everyone said lexi had her mother’s good nature. She didn’t believe it, especially in moments like this where she felt so full of guilt. She was not as good of a woman as everyone thought she was. In fact she felt like a completely terrible person. Hence her being here alone. She couldn’t stand the looks if daniel saw her like this and asked what was wrong. Lexi was tired of lying about everything. This was not her-she was not a liar about anything at all.
Lexi chuckled as she nodded her head. ”it usually speaks to a lot of people. And it’s so peaceful here. Everyone looks out for each other. I remember I moved back here after some things happened to me they were fantastic. So kind. Has anyone from our unofficial welcoming committee greeted you yet?” lexi asked this with a bit of a chuckle. Some of the longstanding locals liked to great newcomers. It was kind of an unspoken tradition around here. Some people were weirded out but others genuinely liked it. They felt welcome and even a little special. The people who didn’t mind the welcome committee often became very involved I n things within the town quickly.
Lexi pursed her lips together before she smiled. ”would you like to walk with me? A little ways up the beach is the little seafood place. They have burgers too but it’s fantastic. It’s a little local dive that not everyone finds but it is so worth it.” lexi liked to make new friends and this woman seemed very sweet. Lexi would put forth the effort because her instincts were usually spot on about things.

At the explanation of the origin of Lexi's name mercy nodded with a small smile. "My mother had a flair for the unique and creative. She live peace and tranquility." Mercy told her with a faint smile and shrug. "She thought Mercy was just a perfect name, it depicted compassion, uniqueness, and almost an innocence just by the name so she was extremely pleased to name me it." She explained to Alexandria. Her mother was an interesting person from what snippets of memory she had left of her. She had lost her mother at the age of 5, she'd been murdered and to this day the reason was still unknown. Her foster mother had told her that it was simple a matter of misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She missed her mother horribly, but thankfully it no longer made her cry. When Lexi spoke Mercy smiled at her and shook her head at the mention of a welcoming committee. She'd only met one person in town though she hoped to maybe befriend more in the future. "No, unfortunately I haven't met anyone, but then again I'm a quiet person and I try not to draw attention to myself." she told her. It was true though, Mercy rarely opened up or even spoke to anyone for a lengthened period of time. He had severe trust issues as well, so for her to even be here and speaking with this woman like they were friends was a surprise, however Mercy did trust women more readily than men due to her past. When the suggestion for lunch came up she bit her lip, glancing down at her watch. The idea was quite tantalizing and she was hungry. Looking at her she smiled softly. "I guess I could do lunch, and seafood is my favorite." She said with a grin. Lexi seemed so kind and there was nothing she currently craved more than a friend.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- ”Well I guess you inebriated that from your mother then?” After all, Mercy had just told Lexi she chose Hope Harbor for the name. Sometimes the apple really doesn’t fall from the tree. Lexi often wondered how she came from her parents. Everyone said she was like her mother but her mother was so much more confidant in herself. Lexi really wasn’t. She knew she was a little on the plumper side and her emotions could flip on a dime leaving her a bit mousey. Still Dean had noticed her in school despite his popularity. Now she was in this place. Just...great.
A laugh escaped, Lexi already feeling much more at ease then she was prior. ”Oh just you wait. Brooklyn Sawyer will more then likely be it since most of the other people are older so she’s taken it over. You’ll know her right away. She is really hyperactive and bubbly. She may wrangle you to pose in some of her gowns for the local paper advertisement.” Brooklyn had trod to wrangle in Lexi but she just couldn’t. being in any wedding gown was too difficult for her. She had tried once but ended up having a huge panic attack and it just wasn’t great at all. Brooklyn had bene so kind and understanding though. She helped Lexi leave quietly and made sure she got home safe. Really everyone here was really nice in this town like she said. She knew she appreciated it after everything that had happened in California.
Lexi clasped her hands together as she beamed. ”Great! Cook’s is just amazing then again I am a huge sucker for seafood.” Lexi turned in the direction she wanted to go and began to walk. The porch of the restaurant could be seen from where they were though you couldn’t make out every detail. ”So have you found a job in this little cove?” It really wasn’t a cove but Lexi didn’t care. She just was trying to make light conversation getting to know Mercy.

Mercy had never thought of things like that. In her opinion she was far from her mother. She remembered her mother as always being very outgoing and bright, the only thing she might have in common with her mother was her tenderness and compassion, but maybe there was more than she thought. "I never truly thought of it but I guess your right."She said with a smile and a shrug. She began to walk with Lexi down the beach as they spoke and she mentioned a member of that unofficial welcoming committee. With a soft chuckle she shrugged. "If she really needs help I wouldn't mind though I don't see myself as the modeling type." She told her. Mercy was very pretty but she often didn't see it. With her past she always saw herself as the damaged one, the one to cause the problems. She especially didn't find herself that beautiful with the scars she'd acquired over the years from being beaten. As Lexi mentioned the place was mostly seafood she smiled. "I don't eat seafood often but I certainly like it." She assured Lexi. She was so kind this woman that she hoped they could, would become friends. "I have yet to find a job that'll pay well enough for part time, I need a job that won't keep me entirely busy." She told Lexi and then to further explain her reasoning she added "I'm a writer so I need time where I can just sit and brainstorm, or write." She told her. "So how about you, what do you do for a living?" She asked Lexi. She wanted to get to know her better and in order to do that they'd have to ask one another questions.
