Cupcake sent me this message shortly after the OTM's were put up.
Thoughts from everyone? We'd like a group discussion on this subject as you are the ones who vote. Us admin only break ties

I think that having nominations is a good idea, while having the list of couples, friendships etc in the claims board :)

i have only ever seen it as nominations, but i thought it was kinda cool that anyone can be voted for, instead of only certain people/characters. i like it either way, though if the site continues to get bigger and bigger, it might be a little difficult to pick which person/character(s) to vote for, whereas nominations will narrow that down considerably. i know i'm not much help. lol

I'm an admin on another site and we've done the OTMs through nominations the whole time, it seems a lot more fair in the way that everyone can nominate anyone really, it's easier also than having a whole bunch of characters and then the votes get spread too thin, whereas if you have 5 for each OTM then you can actually get decent results. Another stipulation that could be useful is saying that the winner of the OTM can't be nominated again the next month or at least for the next little while so others get the chance. I'm all for it.

Actually, Ami, I have done that in the past with they are out for the next round of voting. I've preferred to do that. This was the first round of OTMs so Shelby & I haven't really talked much yet. Now question-to be fair, if a certain category has five or under, we'd just skip nomination because that seems fair.
