[atrb=border,0,true]there‘s a fire starting in my heart, reaching a fever pitch Brooklyn knew this day had to come. The day the cops wanted to talk to her. The hospital staff had put it off as long as possible but now it was unavoidable. After her mother helped her braid her hair and clean up a bit, Brooklyn was led back to bed. Well, sort of. She was determined to walk without assistance. That short distance from the bathroom adjacent to her room to her bed had been exhausting. While he lung was healing nicely it wasn’t healed enough for her to be moving around for long. Still she tried. She had wanted to shower before officer cross came. Thankfully the hospital had shower seats so she could rest. Brooklyn found herself learning how to do many things one handed, including taking a shower. Difficult but manageable none the less.
Brooklyn’s mother helped arrange her blankets over the patient’s lap. Brooklyn was still wearing hospital gowns so she didn’t want anything to show. Tristan had offered to be the one for the interview but Brooklyn told him no. not because she didn’t want him by her side but because she knew that if troy upset Brooklyn he’d want to put an end ot the conversation. She loved her fiancée and was glad he was protective but she knew they had to deal with this if the attackers were to be caught. So Brooklyn arranged for her mother to be by her side. Tristan was in the waiting room if she needed him but otherwise she felt at ease enough with her mother here.
The head of the bed was propped up while Brooklyn had pillows behind her. There was some ice water for her. The doctors had been given strict orders hat unless Brooklyn was completely hysterical to not sedate her. She had to get through this. She had been mentally preparing herself for it the last couple days. All she asked was that she had her meeting with the kidney specialist first which had been tough. Brooklyn would have to go yearly to get her kidney functioning tested. And whenever her and Tristan wanted to have a baby there was the chance her kidney could shut down entirely at some point. The chances of her needing a kidney transplant were high. Her and Tristan had already discussed that they’d only get pregnant once. One time was enough risk and multiple pregnancies would be too hard on her body. Especially since it’d be considered high risk from the very beginning. Brooklyn could tell Tristan had taken it hard but oliver had warned her there’d be complications so she was able to mentally prepare herself.
Until officer cross arrived Brooklyn turned the television on to army wives. A show her and her mother enjoyed to watch together. It kept her mind at ease as she sat there a bundle of nerves, wanting to get this interview done with already.

Troy silently swore to himself as he drove to the hospital. Things had been rough around the office ever since he got into that car crash, and with the attacks caused by this Avery individual piling up he was up to here with it. And NOW someone else had been attacked, and the station had sent him out to interrogate speak with the victim. It was somewhat his forte, to be honest, but he certainly was not in the mood to be putting his skills to good use.
Nonetheless, he was where he was, and that was that. He pulled up to the hospital, and with a sigh he stopped the car. He rubbed his face, exhaustion settling into his features as the case had been dragged on for what seemed like forever. He wasn't the kind of person who could do this sort of thing twenty four seven, but he swore that he would anyways. It was taking its toll on his body, to say the least. He got out of the cop vehicle anyways, and after grabbing the few things he needed he trudged his way to the entrance of the building.
Once inside, he went to the front desk and stated his intentions while showing his badge. After being told which room Brooklyn was in he carefully made his way to the location. Why was he being careful? He didn't want to meet a certain 'intern' who was out and about the area; he really didn't want to deal with happiness overload the guy had, and Troy was certain that if the man got his way he would have that damn cat following him around! Now he felt like a Scooby Doo villain, but instead of a gang of kids and a dog running into him it was an airheaded doctor and an animal with an attitude. He seriously needed to talk to him, though...
He pushed the thought out of his head as he continued on to the room. He finally reached it, and peered inside. He saw a woman on the bed with another woman beside her sitting in a chair, and he was pretty sure the patient on the bed was Brooklyn. He wanted to make sure, though, and so he spoke up, "Is Miss Sawyer in this room?" He took off the police hat that was on his head, but continued to stand in the doorway until his question was confirmed. It seemed silly, but... this was a difficult time for the woman, and so he didn't want to appear as though he was her enemy. Well, someone who opposed her. Err... nevermind.

[atrb=border,0,true]there‘s a fire starting in my heart, reaching a fever pitch Brooklyn was far from being ok. Her face looked like hamburger pretty much but at least both eyes were open. Still the lights were kept down and dim because it hurt to look in the light and because of her concussion. Most everyone was gone for this moment aside from her mother. Brooklyn didn’t want to be alone with the officer for several reasons. One, she was jstu generally scared of people she didn’t’ know very well. Two, she often got overwhelmed easily. The nurses had said they wouldn’t come sedate her during the discussion unless she got really bad which was good. Brooklyn needed to get everything out there and the only way to remember it all is if she was completely lucid. Anxiety medications wouldn’t help.
Tristan had offered to be the one here but Brooklyn said no. she knew how protective he was and if she start to get upset or frustrated, he’d probably put an end to it. Brooklyn couldn’t have that in this sense. She needed to get through the questioning no matter what. They only that that would stop her is a lot of pain and needing the morphine. Otherwise she would soldier on. Her father had taught her well to push through no matter what was going on in her life. She had done it before, she could do it now for however long officer cross planned to be here and questioning her. That was the only thing she could do.
When she heard a man’s voice at the door, Brooklyn and her mother turned to look at the sandy haired man. Her mother got up and spoke as Brooklyn inched her fingers to shut off the television. ”this is her room. I know you have a lot to ask but understand she may need to pause or take some breaks. She gets exhausted easily, ok?” Brooklyn was grateful for her mother saying those things. She herself shifted just slightly on the bed, wincing from the pain. “forgive me if I don’t shake your hand,” Brooklyn breathed out as she held up her hands where the thumb and ring finger of each hand were wrapped in gauze while bruises littered her skin. Her face was swollen and barely moved as she spoke and her breathing was light and quick as she tried not to breath in too deeply and cause pain. “where do you want to start?” Brooklyn was just ready to have this over and done with since she knew this would be mentally and emotionally brutal on her-relieving the attack so the officers had plenty of information.

Troy could see the nervousness and, well, the injuries caused to the woman. He felt pretty bad, actually, and wanted to go and find the son of a bitch who did this to her. Well, he knew who did it, but he just didn't... know who did it. He didn't know who Avery was, but he knew the guy's name. At this point, all of this was just a huge mess that Troy wanted to solve and be done with it. He had his own life to worry about; he didn't need some upstart kid going around setting buildings on fire or punching people in the face. Yes, okay, it did provide some adventure for the police officer, but... there was only so much that could happen before enough was enough. And the whole Avery situation had gone way over that limit.
His way of interrogati- questioning someone was not always so harsh. Yes, he could be blunt at times and to the point, but he could also make a joke or two to make the victim laugh. Well, half the time they laughed, anyways; the other half of the time they either glared at him or tried to punch him in the face for his inconsideration. Man, maybe he should work on his jokes a bit more.
Troy listened to the older woman speak, and he nodded his head. "I understand, Mrs. Sawyer." He needed to act as professionally as he could, though he knew he wouldn't be able to help himself and make a joke if he felt like it. He slowly walked into the room, grabbed a chair, and placed it close to where the bed was. He laughed a little and said, "I understand, Miss Sawyer. I wouldn't want to hurt your delicate hand more than it already hurts now." He wasn't too sure if he was joking, or flirting. Maybe both.
He took out a notebook with a pen, but he also took out a recorder. "Which would you prefer, Miss Sawyer? The recorder will be easier to find information, but, uh... I understand if you do not want something like this to be recorded at this time." He pursed his lips. He... didn't want to admit that he had forgotten the standard procedure for questionings. He had brought both because he was too embarrassed to admit that he hadn't been out on a case like this in a long while, though now he wanted the young woman to decide which recording methods she preferred. Some people didn't like hearing their voice recorded, no matter the situation.
"Um..." He clapped his hands together, pressing his lips into a thin line. "How about... how did your day start, Miss Sawyer?" It was a somewhat lame question to ask, but he needed to take things slowly, and who knows? Maybe there were details hidden in the most basic of moments.
((Ssssooooo sorry for the delay! D: Sorry if it's kinda bad, also ^.^; lemme know if you want me to change anything!))
