( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn was exhausted. If she hadn’t promised a good friend of hers who taught here she’d chaperone, she wouldn’t be here right now. She had just gotten back from London last night after visiting Tristan. The visit hadn’t been entirely relaxing. There had been wedding details to go over, she had brought a bunch of her stuff over to move since it was cheaper then shipping and been scoping out places to set up an office for her work, including sewing gowns. Within the next month or two she’d take another three or four trips to bring more stuff. Tristan planned to come here to maine at some point and would bring more stuff. Not that she had a lot but she brought a suitcase or two at a time packed with various items. Clothes, photographs, jewelry, little trinkets she had collected over the years and anything else she felt important to bring. Not like it’d hard to get things there. They’d come visit oliver often or he could send things to them. But, if one couldn’t tell, she was going to make London her permanent home so she had to bring as much as possible as quickly as possible. And yes, it was taking awhile because Brooklyn and Tristan were trying not to tip off the press of their plans just yet.
That was the most exhausting part of it-hiding stuff form the press. Like she couldn’t wear her engagement ring around London or anywhere in England for that matter. She had a chain to wear it on. Normally she’d be wearing it proudly while home in hope harbor but her fingers were swollen form the plane ride and using a needle to sew a gown by hand. And she didn’t trust having it on the chain around here so it was left at home. Brooklyn did feel empty without it as she walked through the halls to the gymnasium. The kids had done a stupendous job decorating. The floors were about all that made you aware it was the gym. Brooklyn helped getting the food set up, helped with getting the lighting right and spoke to the do. More for something to do. Eventually students began to arrive. Brooklyn kept a hugue grin on her face.
An hour later she was sipping some punch when another chaperone came to relieve her of refreshment table duty. Brooklyn thanked her and went to mill about the edge of the formal gathering. Her dress was not as formal. A dusty blue dress that fell below her knees and was modest. She wore “nude” satin heels and had a matching clutch purse. Brooklyn wore black colored nylons, had her hair pilled in an elegant bun and her make-up was a tasteful, light colored “smoky” eye. She wore some old earrings of her’s plus one of the pieces of jewelry her grandmother had given her. All in all, Brooklyn was dressed for her age and wasn’t ashamed of it.
Brooklyn scanned the group of teenagers. Some close and risqué dancing but no clothing was coming off and there didn’t seem to be hands up dresses or down pants that she could see. She continued to look around until she caught site of a familiar form. Brooklyn knew coleman had come home but had been in London when he returned home. Casually making her way over, she made sure not to sneak up on him. She spent enough time with her father that it was never wise to sneak up on a soldier who had seen war. With a bright smile on, she moved to stand in front of him. “why coleman scott, you come back to town and can’t even text an old friend you’ve returned. How rude. Good thing I designed your sister’s wedding gown and she was kind enough to tell me when I got home form london.” all said in good fun. He was one of her oldest friends-actually, whomever born in hope harbor really were old friends-and enjoyed catching up with him. “how have you been since being home?”
eek! so much to come with this thread :X |

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn felt awkward being here at times. Her own prom had been so different. She was going to school on a military base. Everyone was afraid to do anything slightly inappropriate least it get back to their parents. This was all new and she was too exhausted to do too much. The teachers did seem a lot straighter then she was with some things. Then again she wasn’t around the refreshment table for the punch escapades. A couple of the chaperones she knew stopped her to talk but it was fleeting at best. Most asked about her upcoming nuptials and what was going to happen to her store. Some people thought she’d shut it down but that wasn’t the plan at all. Brooklyn would keep it running. Heck, she could do it. Not like she’d have much else to do in London besides visit Tristan’s family. There she could do all her designs and her new manger where would handle most of the day to day business aspects. A perfect thing for someone who was a perfectionist with her designs.
As Brooklyn moved around, she thought she saw movement through one of the windows. The students were only allowed on the front steps of the gymnasium so there couldn‘t be movement on the side of the building. She didn’t see anything else so she brushed it off as a plant or something of the likes. Sleep deprivation. That’s all this was. Brooklyn had been flying between maine and London too much and she was losing out on sleep. Normally she could do fine but the time zone adjustments is what was really killing her. All she could do was blink back the exhaustion and watch the students. As she watched the students, her thoughts grazed to her father for a moment. More so the night of her prom. The normally strong man had softened considerably that night. One could just tell he knew that his little girl had grown up overnight. Then that one day, they next time he’d be looking at her walking out the door with a boy like that, would be when she got married. Now that seemed even more distant then before. He refused to even discuss the matter with her. Really what was the big deal? So what if Tristan proposed without asking his permission? So what if she was moving to England? He was the one being irrational-not her. She had apologized a thousand times. Tristan had explained himself. None of it seemed good enough, though.
At least she was able to snap out of it before the tears sprang up. Tonight was a good distraction from it all. Every problem in her life. And she could catch up with an old friend to boot! It really had been too long. She had gone to a year of junior high and tow years of high school here along with every single summer before that. Brooklyn continued to come the summers after as well which allowed her to keep in contact with people. But things did happen and people couldn’t stay in contact forever. She shrugged casually. “no big deal. I’ll just go cry out the tears of my broken heart in the corner because I was never that special to you.” a wide grin and a sparkle in her eyes showed that she was only kidding. Something Brooklyn always liked to do with anyone at all really. Just sometimes people didn’t get her sense of humor as she could be a bit…crass.
Brooklyn titled her head, her smile still soft and her eyes gazing at him. Not romantically, mind you, but of concern. She had seen her father after one difficult tour. That had been frightening for the whole family. “that’s good at least. Please you have such a huge support system with your family. How’s your daughter doing? When your sister came in for her dress fittings her and your mother were always going on about her.” Brooklyn may not look it but she loved children. And she wanted them. Tristan did too but they were going to wait until after they were married. They had already done some things but were waiting to do anything unprotected until after they were married. They both wanted to wait which she was glad about. Brooklyn would rather not be pregnant at their wedding.
She rolled her eyes at the psych exam comment but didn’t say anything. Brooklyn came from a marine household so she wasn’t stupid-they didn’t do that unless you showed signs of ptsd or depression or some other mental health problem. Brooklyn may not say it all, but she knew enough to where she could pick out bullshit people said concerning the military. Then she had no problems calling them out. In this case she knew coleman would know better so just ignored it. Didn’t even laugh. There was a shrug of her hsoulders as she turned to look back over the crowd of teenagers. “good. I opened my own shop here in town, obviously. Getting married soon.” Brooklyn could only ever say soon because it couldn’t get out to the press out in England. They’d have a field day and be all over Tristan as well as her whenever she was there. Sure, everyone in maine knew they were engaged as she wore her ring around town(minus tonight because of her hands being swollen) but no one would say much about that. Now when a date was set some people might not people able to keep their mouths shut. Mainly certain cousins of hers.
“so how in the world did you of all people get roped into coming here? I mean, I’m a girl and we love gowns and decorations and everything associated with prom but I’m curious how you got involved.”

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn arched a brow in amusement. “you have a trophy case with the tears of woman’s whose hearts you broke? twisted. Very twisted. I like it.” Brooklyn always had a weird sense of humor. Actually, this was tame compared to how she could be if one really got her going. But she was changing slightly-being more mindful of her manners and mouth. Tristan didn’t seem to care too much about all that but she didn’t want to slip up while they were out in public. That wouldn’t be good if the press caught wind of some of the things she had a tendency to say.
Brooklyn nodded. She remembered the little girl from Leila’s wedding. They had made a cute little dress for her. Made Brooklyn stop to think for just a moment about kids but then the thought passed. “well if you ever want to, bring her by my shop. I could make tons of clothing for her to play dress up in. I do it for Dominic’s kid, everleigh. She loves her unique dresses.” Brooklyn loved to do things like that for kids. And not just princess or fairy dresses but even cowboy or astronaut outfits. Always another career path if Brooklyn ever needed it. A hand went to brush back her bangs. “don’t you mean current brother-in-law. I may not have been at the wedding, but I’m pretty sure they both said I do.” then again, Brooklyn had no idea all the problems that had ensued recently. It’s not like she was super close to Leila or daniel, just she did all the gowns for them.
“I mean you could say something just to try to process everything, you know? Though with Leila being pregnant it might turn very weepy and very sappy extremely fast. I may not have experience with pregnant women but I ehar they are very hormonal.” not long ago Brooklyn herself had a scare. Of course that had been a giant mess because oliver caught her buying the test and she only just told Tristan about it(though not how she planned!) but that didn’t mean she was experienced with them. No one in her family has been pregnant for sixteen years. And kylie’s pregnancy ended very abruptly. Leila was the most time she spent around a pregnant girl ever. “they may have also wanted to keep it from you so you didn’t get worried while out there. When my dad was deployed, mom and I only used to tell him things we didn’t think would upset him in any way. We didn’t want his mind on other things. Sorry but the fact that your sister was seeing your best friend is a major distraction. I can tell even now, despite you being home for a few weeks.” there was sp much her father didn’t know when he had been deployed that it was unreal. Of course once he was home some things slowly came to light. For coleman things couldn’t come out slowly. after all, there were the wedding photos, the giant rock on Leila’s hand and her ever increasing midriff. That wasn’t taking it slowly.
Brooklyn’s mouth formed to go ‘oh’ as coleman lifted her hand but she didn’t have time to stop. “yeah you’ll have to see it another day. I just flew in from England last night and it was humid yesterday so my fingers were swollen. Still had trouble getting it on today so I just decided to leave it at home.” Brooklyn shrugged as she pulled her hand back and looked at her left ring finger herself. Even when in England when she couldn’t wear her ring outside of Tristan’s home she still felt empty without it. This evening was no different for the petite brunette but her face didn’t stay down turned for long. It formed into a bright look as she stared at coleman. “not sure if you’d know him. His name is Tristan welcott. I met him through his brother, oliver, who I befriended when he came here from London. I’ll actually be moving there soon but every couple of months we’ll be back in hope harbor and we can stay as long as we want or need.” Brooklyn shrugged, not going into his career or why they’d be flying back and forth so much. As well as how they could afford it. She wasn’t a woman who went around blabbing about what money other’s had nor did she care about that with Tristan. She cared only about him.
Brooklyn brought the back of her hand to her mouth as she laughed, trying not to have students or chaperones look this way. “oh I wouldn’t doubt it. She was probably hoping that you’d reconnect with your prom date from high school, fall madly in love and get off her case about things.” Brooklyn hadn’t been going to hope harbor when prom came around so she had no idea what coleman had done for it or if he went. As her laughter died, her face turned serious. “no, honestly, I bet it has to do with what’s been going on in town.” there was a pause as she turned her head to scan the crowd, no smile gracing her face. “she still has friends here so she’s probably worried. Everyone is worried. Some of these kids have family members who have been hurt or killed. One of the students here, Natalie owens-the pastor’s daughter-was even kidnapped and put on a boat which was on fire. She was left to die but someone rescued her. Everyone’s scared. Leila probably thought her big brother was perfect to scare away whoever is doing this.” tears sprang to Brooklyn’s eyes as she spoke. She didn’t even mention that her best guy friend, dominic, and his daughter had been effected by this monster as well as dom’s sister. All while Brooklyn was in London getting engaged. Her heart still broke to think about it. But she just blinked back the tears and put on a soft smile before she turned back ot coleman. “but what do I know. This is your sister so it could be she’s just trying to hook you up.” Brooklyn wasn’t even sure she went to where she did. All she knew is the police department had too few people to be here. That’s why they asked for non-teaching volunteers-for extra eyes on the students to protect them tonight.

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn rolled her eyes as she laughed. “I’m good. I won’t feed into your creepy fetish of carrying tears around.” of course she knew he was joking-she had a rather interesting sense of humor herself at times. Ok it was completely crass and something you’d expect from a sailor, not a lady who was so into fashion. She seemed like the perfect, well put together woman when really she was a tom boy at heart. One hundred percent tomboy as she was the daddy’s girl who loved to do what he did. That is when they were on speaking terms.
Brooklyn shrugged. “worth a shot. It always gives me something to do. I often get bored. Hence making a million outfits for everleigh.” Brooklyn did a gaze around at the students but saw nothing so shrugged with a light chuckle. “I think all children have plans like that but I wouldn’t know, I’m not a mom.” hopefully one day she would be just not yet. Her and Tristan’s wedding was pretty rushed enough. Yes, they even beat out daniel and Leila for quick engagements. Six weeks. The two were together six weeks before being engaged. Still, they had more time to plan a wedding as Brooklyn was not in a state of being with child. And she was taking all the measures to prevent that until her and Tristan decided they wanted to try to have a family. Two kids. They ahd decided they wanted two kids. A soft smile formed at the thought. She imagined any little boy having Tristan’s hair. That smile stayed and worked for her next comment. “hm sounds like a plan. Though I have a feeling making her a dress for prom will come with stipulations from you.” after all, no father wanted to see his father out in anything risqué.
Brooklyn let out a heavy puff of air. That was delusional at best. “Leila was sad you couldn’t be there, you know. She talked to me about it when she came for her fittings.” the younges scott remembered Brooklyn ahd known her brother so she apparently thought she could tlak to Brooklyn about him. Like the designer knew anything about him in the here and now. They hadn’t really talked in who knows how long. This was the longest conversation and she spent it observing the changes in him. One thing was for certain-he was the same old, protective big brother he’s always been. “ok but to be honest, did they even life to you or just keep it form you? Big difference even if you don’t see it. I know it sucks and you feel betrayed but I’ve been in their shoes. All I wanted was my dad home safe. I didn’t need him to worry about things, no matter how minor or major. I am surprised that you didn’t even know about the wedding. Your mother was writing you a letter about everything during the first dress appointment.” Brooklyn pulled her brows together and bit her lip in thought. Yes, she clearly remembered asking his mother what she was writing about. Did she just not send it? Did it get lost? Not her problem but the thought was bugging her.
Brooklyn refrained from shrugging but tilted her head from side to side lightly with her musings. “I guess...it’s not like I’m traveling the world for my job or something so it’s not exactly ‘moving up’. besides I’ve seen enough of the world. I’ll just be happy to settle down in one place for good. Sort of.” they’d still come here to see oliver and their friends but London would be their permanent home. She hadn’t had a permanent home in god knows how many years. that was one thing she hated about growing up as it put a damper on so many things. But at least she had gone to prom and had a date-which Coleman apparently hadn’t. “wait you never went to prom? Oh that means you have to dance with me at some point. All cheesy with a foot of space between us and everything. You need at least one prom memory.” Brooklyn already knew Tristan wouldn’t mind because one-she’d tell him and two-there was nothing romantic between her and coleman. One hundred percent platonic friendship is what they were.
Brooklyn immediately regretted telling coleman anything about this crazy person running around town. She could tell something in him had changed. he didn’t know. How could he not know? It was all over the local paper and the talk of the town? Was the scott family just keeping everything form him? He lives in this town for heaven’s sakes! He has a little girl he needs to be able to protect. Brooklyn folded her hands in her lap as she sighed and nodded her head. “yeah ok…” Brooklyn’s melancholy tone was only because of opening her big mouth to begin with. There were still some things she had to get a hold of.
Brooklyn gazed around and something caught her eye out of the window-again. She stared a moment and as someone sneaking around outside. After telling that story you’d think she’d jus stay indoors. Nope-not Brooklyn sawyer. She was fearless with danger as her father taught her everything she knew. She headed for one of the side doors and pushed. The breeze hit her skin and sent a shiver down her spine. Once she gathered her bearings, Brooklyn began to look around and tried to get her eyes to adjust to the darkness. Her heel clad feet moved along the damp earth, sinking in slightly. “hello...I know someone is out here. I saw you through the window. You know students aren’t allowed out here. They’re supposed to remain inside.” Brooklyn heard a rustling behind her so turned.
Mistake.
Brooklyn felt arms grab her and drag her a couple dozen feet from the building. She screamed against the hand but to no avail. She dug her heels into the ground but one shoe came off. The other fell as she then used her upper body strength to lean back, lift her legs and begin to kick around. Again to no avail. She was terrified for her life and she had every reason to be. Nothing prepared her for what happened next.
sorry if he parts with coleman were rushed. Just trying to move along to the attack at this point |

Post by AVERY NEVAEH DAVIS on Jul 8, 2013 14:26:59 GMT -5
Everything was going to go to plan tonight! This was the night that a lot of the people in this town finally learned about what was going to happen! Avery was going to get a big part of the revenge that they wanted! It was prom night and prom was something that Avery never got to do because of these sick people! No mother or father to see them off to prom with their date. No prom night to have fun with said date. And no prom pictures. Hell there wasn’t even a graduation for Avery in the picture! Avery would have been able to do all of this had they not messed with Avery and their family.
Avery and Skylar had been sneaking around this place to scout it out so they could get ready for everything big that was about to happen. They had enough gas cans and accelerant to start a huge fire here and make everything BURN yes BURN! This place was going to burn and so was everyone inside of it! Making their way around the building stealthy they had no idea that someone inside had seen them until the voice rang out into the night. It was a woman by the sound of her voice. Avery moved into the bushes and made sure that the woman they knew as Brooklyn was far enough away from any window or person to be seen. This was going to be fun!
Sneaking up behind the woman when she turned around Avery snuck up behind her and slapped their hand over the woman’s mouth and started dragging her with them. Oh this was going to be fun! When the woman started to kick Skylar came up and grabbed her feet and helped Avery carry the woman away. Their voice changers making their voices sound different as they talked to one another. When they got to a clearing Skylar stood there holding the woman now while Avery smirked under the hood and mask looking at Brooklyn. “So you think to stop us bitch?” Putting on a pair of brass knuckles Avery took aim and swung a hard punch into the woman’s belly. Oh yes, this was only going to be the beginning of this woman’s pain and suffering. After a few good hits to the woman’s belly Avery moved to the car and grabbed something.
On the other side of the car Avery shielded their eyes and pulled out a blow torch and turned it on. As Avery started heating up the brand they smirked and looked back. “Tear off the bitches dress, Skylar.” Avery’s eyes watched as Skylar ripped the dress away and threw the shredded clothes aside. “Now turn her onto her back!” With a smirk Skylar flipped her over and Avery came up behind her and grinned as Skylar straddled her back to hold her down as Avery took the hot brand and pushed it into the small of her back branding her.
Cooling the brand Avery tossed it back into the trunk with the blow torch and pulled out a few more things. A smirk on their face as they slammed the trunk closed and walked back to the woman. Turning her back on her back Avery straddled her and smirked as Avery took another swing hitting the woman in her ribs hard enough to crack one. This woman was nosy and needed to learn the price she now needed to pay. After a few minutes more of that enough to make more than one of her ribs crack Avery grabbed the pliers and took her hand up and smiled. “Nice nails.” Putting the pliers to her ring finger they closed it around the nail and gave a might pull ripping the nail off her finger. A smirk on their lips as they did it over again to her thumb and then to her ring and thumb finger on her other hand. Now this was pain!
Plucking up the knife from the ground Avery ran the blade over the woman’s skin and smiled as they cut her on the shoulder. “What next?” Dragging the knife down they cut her thighs and then smiled. “Oh! I know! Skylar get the cooler!” Skylar went and grabbed the Styrofoam cooler that was filled with ice and smiled. They leaned in and ran the blade along Brooklyn’s lips. “You know I always wanted to be a doctor.” Skylar then placed their leather gloved hands over Brooklyn’s lips as Avery moved down her body and made an X mark above her kidney and smiled. With swift movement the knife was slicing Brooklyn open and Avery spread the skin open and smiled as they spotted her kidney. Making sure to sever it how they had read the pulled out the kidney and put it in a sterile bag and then put it on ice. “Thank you for the kidney, Brooklyn!” When they heard some footsteps coming they looked to Skylar, “get in the car and get out of here!” Handing them everything but the brass knuckles they watched as Skylar got away leaving Avery, Brooklyn and the kidney behind. A smile one Avery’s face as they punched Brooklyn once more in the side of the head.
