personality :
- jesse's a hard worker. she was all through school and has kept that. her dad is a hard worker, as well, so that's no doubt where she gets it.
- she is SO impatient. keep her waiting and she'll be huffing and sighing, making sure you know she doesn't appreciate it. make her wait even longer and she'll probably start yelling at you.
- you give this girl a job to do, she'll do it. you don't even have to worry if she'll do it or not. she has quite the reputation for being reliable.
- jesse is as stubborn as they come. she won't admit she's wrong for anything. and heaven help you if you get in an argument with her. she's too stubborn to be the first one to end it.
- she's always been self reliant, that independent streak evident from the beginning. always wanting to do things herself, without any help. she's not so adamant about doing everything without help anymore, but she can do it if she has to.
- even if she wasn't the boss, she'd still be bossy. when she was little she'd boss around her friends, and even her older sister, at times. though she never got very far with that. nowadays jesse bosses her employees around quite a bit.
- jesse can be very persuasive when she wants to be. all she has to do is bat those pretty eyelashes and say 'please'. well, maybe a little bit more than that. but she definitely uses that pretty face to her advantage.
- she can be moody, but she's not all the time. when she is, though, watch out.
- jesse is a sweet and friendly girl, most of the time. but everyone has a good and a bad side. fortunately, you see more of her good side, unless you work for her.
- she may not look like it, but she's also a big fan of poetry. she always has a book with her and she reads it on break or whenever she finds the time.

history :
i was born right here in hope harbor, on april 20th, 1992. my sister came along five years before me, though, and i'm pretty sure i was a surprise to my parents. they love me all the same, though. they started their own restaurant when i was a year old, so i've kind of grown up in the business. though i never really liked it. it wasn't for me. but mom and dad weren't really worried about that because they wanted sandra to inherit the restaurant. as she got older, she became more interested in it and was pretty much a natural.
my thing was cars. always cars. even when i was a toddler and i didn't gravitate towards pink and dolls like most little girls. i was happier with a pickup truck or a sports car. i didn't become completely obsessed with them until i was ten, though. that was when i got a look at my first car magazine. that was it. i still liked girly stuff, but i was more of a tomboy with the girly side of me tacked on. my sister was the fashionable one who started wearing making at twelve and was always worrying about her hair and shopping. i've never liked shopping. i don't mind going to a store or two, but going to dozens for hours is exhausting.
i started 'working' for the local mechanic when i was thirteen. i couldn't be on the actual payroll for another year, but i was there to learn all i could. the owner, mack, showed me everything i know. he also gave me more magazines and books that told me pretty much everything i needed to know about cars. i memorized a lot of it, but i couldn't put my complete focus on it because of school.
after turning fourteen i became an official employee. my parents really weren't happy about it, however. they barely saw me, between school and work. they thought i was spending way too much time at the shop, but i loved it. i got there as early as i could, and stayed as late as mack would let me. some days i wouldn't even go home between school and work. i'd pack extra food to eat for dinner, and get my homework done there. mack always made me do it before anything else.
i had my first boyfriend at sixteen. guys had been asking for a year or two by then, but i'd been to preoccupied with the shop. but i'd had a crush on this particular boy for probably a year. we didn't last long, though. he wanted to go on dates when i wanted to be working on cars and it just didn't work. after 0ur break up i got together with a guy from the shop. he was nineteen years old, which was an issue for my parents but we stayed together anyway. he moved after about ten months, however, and we couldn't keep up a long term relationship.
i was seventeen by this time, and my parents were expecting me to make plans for college, but i wasn't interested. a lot of people wanted to get out of hope. i didn't. i was happy where i was. what more could i possibly need? well, i had been, anyway. that was before mack died. i was eighteen and he'd left the shop to me. i couldn't believe it and it shocked my parents in a very bad way. they knew i could still go to college, but they also knew that i would never go now.
my sister went for business, though. she was the dream child. did everything she was supposed to, even had a steady boyfriend and would probably be engaged before long. after college she came back to work at the family restaurant once again, but after a falling out she quit and is now a waitress at wish cafe. it's just temporary, however, until she can get something better. i moved out at nineteen, and have been living on my own ever since.
it's been two years and the business is thriving, though it can get bumpy at times. i love it anyway, and wouldn't give it up for anything.
the sample post
what she really wanted to do was chuck something... anything heavy, right at her mother's head. she couldn't wait till she was graduated. then she could finally move out and have some peace. she hoped, anyway. she wasn't planning on staying around here, though. no freaking way. anywhere within ten thousand miles of her mother was too close. her dad had left when she was two, probably because he couldn't stand it, either. he was the lucky one. he got away a long time ago. but now there was a new guy. they'd been together for about three months and he'd already moved in. her mother thought he was the best thing that had ever happened to her. not 'them', of course. she couldn't care less about her daughter. she didn't care that she couldn't stand her boyfriend. really only worried about her own happiness.
she let out a sigh as she laid back down on her bed. her mom always left her door open, so she'd had to get up and close it. something else to be annoyed about. she picked up her phone, hoping to find a text from her best friend, or anyone, really. she smiled as she read it, her thumbs flying over the keypad as she replied. she waited for a reply, but after five minutes she dropped her phone onto the bed and rolled over. reaching under her pillow, she pulled out her diary. something she never left out, always afraid her mother or her boyfriend would find it and decide to look inside, even though it had a lock on it. but it wasn't a strong one, so anyone who really wanted to find out its contents only needed to put a little effort into breaking it open.
