appearance : dominic has light brown hair that he keeps pretty short. he has a nice tan, despite living in maine, and is very fit. he has blue eyes and stays clean shaven most of the time. dom has two tattoos. one on his right arm, and another on his left hip that says 'godspeed'. he stands at exactly six feet.

personality :

• dominic is a very organized person. he keeps a clean house and boat. everything has an exact place, and he makes sure it gets put back there.
  
• everleigh is probably his biggest weakness. she's a bit on the spoiled side, though she's not a brat. he loves his daughter more than anything, and it shows.
  
• dom is very flexible and won't flip out if something unexpected comes up. he'll just go with the flow, if he can.
  
• he can be blunt. too blunt, at times. sometimes he's not really trying to be, and just comes across that way. other times, dominic definitely means to be.
  
• dominic's a decision maker, through and through. he doesn't flip flop around, or take forever to decide something.
  
• since his wife cheated on him and divorced him, dom has been depressed. not suicidal, though that has crossed his mind.
  
• dominic is a very good parent. he knows how to take care of his little girl, and would rather spend a night in with her than go out partying, most of the time. but she's never alone. always with him, her mother or a babysitter. and he makes sure it's a good one.
  
• he has issues with jealousy, at times. mostly related to his ex-wife. dominic doesn't like seeing her with someone else or just knowing she's with another guy.

history : dominic was the first of the two bane children, though his sister came along two years later. for the next four years the two didn't get along, constantly taking toys from one another and being selfish in general. eventually they got used to each other, but they weren't close. that is, until things started going wrong. unbeknownst to the children, camellia had lung cancer. she'd been fighting it for about five years by now, and it finally claimed her life. dominic was only seven at the time. it was a huge blow to all three of them, especially their father.

he was a pretty good kid, staying out of trouble as he got older. dominic was like his dad. he loved the water. his dad being the captain of his own boat, he took him out often, teaching him all he knew about being a fisherman, so he grew up in the business. he had other hobbies too, however. one of them was boxing, and he was good at it. dominic didn't like it better than fishing, however.

dominic met jackie, his wife to be, when he was twelve. she was ten, but he thought her the prettiest girl he'd ever seen. a year later he finally got up enough courage to ask her out, but her parents said no. he started dating a different girl shortly after that, though he was still interested in jackie. the relationship didn't last long. mostly because the girl knew he liked someone else.

he was fifteen when it happened. the two bane children didn't much about it, other than what they were told. which was that their father's boat had caught on fire with him in it. dominic was devastated, of course. more so than when his mother died. his sister, as well, but not as much as him. they were forced to live with their aunt zelda, which they both hated. she was older and mean, not caring that the children had just lost their father. it was about a year later when connor mcLaughlin, the harbor master, asked the two of them to live with him. they accepted right away and moved in, relieved to finally get out of their aunt's house.

though dominic went out with quite a few girls, his mind always returned to jackie. she was fourteen now, and had recently started dating. he asked her out for the second time and she said yes. he was going through a hard time, with the still recent death of his father, but jackie was a welcome distraction. they stayed together through the rest of high school, plus a few years. he was twenty-three when he asked her to marry him. shortly after she said yes, they found out they were going to have a baby. they took only five months to plan the wedding, a small and simple ceremony, only inviting family, and very close friends.

jackie gave birth to everleigh ray with no difficulties. dominic loved his wife even more, if that were possible, and their new baby. but a few months later, jackie started acting different. she was moody and didn't want attentions from dominic. he soon found out the reason. there was someone else. he took it hard. first his mom, then his dad, now his wife. except, she didn't die. she had found someone else, and didn't love him anymore, if she ever had in the first place. that hurt dominic more than if she had died. four months later jackie was filing for divorce and he didn't bother fighting it. what was the point? though he fought tooth and nail for his daughter. he wasn't about to lose her, too. dominic won partially custody of everleigh, which was good enough for him.

dominic is still in love with jackie, which makes it even harder for him. everleigh stays with her, now three years old, every two weeks and every other holiday.
