the appearance
appearance : ashton isn't real tall for a guy, standing at 5 foot eight, but at sixteen he's still growing. he keeps his dark brown hair a little grown out, but never what you'd call long. he has blue eyes and a few scars here and there but nothing defining. ashton doesn't have any tattoos or piercings and doesn't plan on getting any. he's not at all muscular, but pretty slim at a weight of one hundred and forty-three pounds. pretty average.

personality : ashton is a nice kid. he tries to be there for his friends and family, and is just an overall sweetheart. he loves basketball and is, in fact, very good at it. if you hate optimism you won't like him. he's not overly, but if there's a bright side to be had, he'll find it. ashton is very smart and works hard, so he does well in school. he's no valedictorian but the potential is there for him to do so in the future. he's on the quiet side, and that makes him a good listener. if someone wants to vent he will let them do so with no interruption. ashton will always listen, even if he can't come up with a solution to the problem. though he'll most likely try. he can sleep anywhere and in any position, pretty much. just throw him on the couch, floor, or even outside on the porch. he will fall asleep.
ahh, yes. girls. ashton has a terrible time trying to converse with people of the opposite sex. often times he freezes and doesn't know what to say, or his voice cracks when he tries to say something and it's shaky. it's probably due to the fact that he just hasn't had a lot of experience with them. ashton's nerves get the better of him quite a bit, mostly around girls, but there are other cases as well. he hates standing up in front of the whole class and talking, or public speaking in general. despite being smart, he's easily distracted. his mind will wander and before he knows it, the teacher's said his name two or three times. also, if he's trying to concentrate and someone is talking near by, a tv's on, or music is playing, he has a very hard time focusing on whatever he's trying to do. ashton can be too eager to please. someone will ask him to do something and he'll just do it because he wants to be nice. not anything bad, mind you. like doing someone's homework for them. he's terrible at reading people, which can cause confusion, at times. if he reads their body language wrong he can get the wrong impression, and often does.

history : adriana beckford was the first child to come along for nathan and ingrid beckford. they were living in milford, connecticut at the time and had been married three years. she had been planned, but their next child wasn't. ace beckford was born a year later and the couple decided that they weren't going to have any more children, at least for a while, and would be more careful in the future.
they weren't rich, but they weren't poor, either. nathan worked as a school nurse and ingrid had a job as a postal service clerk. five years later, however, he got fired and they decided to move to another state. they had visited maine before and loved it. they bought a house in hope harbor, moving in three months later. nathan and ingrid were able to get the same jobs they'd had in connecticut and the pay was even a little better. by this time they were ready to have another child. two years later, it was ashton's turn. having had both a girl and a boy already they weren't wishing for either on in particular. they just wanted another baby. his older siblings were pleased to have a younger one, though soon lost interest in him. as he got older, they would sometimes play games with him, but mostly hung out with their friends.
in middle school, he made friends pretty easily. not because he was friendly, but because he was nice. ashton wasn't mean or anything, but he was pretty shy. even so, he was well liked. he was ten when he had his first crush. three years later was his first time kissing a girl on the lips. he'd had a hard time doing that, let alone actually ask a girl out, but he really liked this one. a year later, ashton finally did get up the courage to ask her on a date, and she said yes. they stayed together for about four months before she dumped him, telling him he was boring. after that, he decided he wasn't going to ask a girl out again and pretty much lost all confidence when it came to them in general.
ashton had never been real close with his siblings and the passing of time hadn't changed that. they talked once in a while, but they were so much older than him, one divorced and pursuing a career, the other married. he's always been pretty close with both parents, though not extremely. ashton has one best guy friend who he confides everything to. aside from that, he's not real close with anyone, though he has plenty of casual friends and acquaintances.
he's really into basketball, having started playing in middle school. ashton likes baseball as well, but basketball is his main focus and he wants to be a professional athlete. guitar is a side thing that he enjoys, though he doesn't sing at all.
