Scott had always liked the ocean, which was why he was in Hope Harbor still rather than being back in Boston. His plan had worked! Kind of -his boss was getting a bit antsy about his 'return date', and he didn't have the heart to tell her that he wasn't too sure if he was going back to his old hospital. Hope Harbor was small, but it had everything Scott had dreamed of. There were small shops, beautiful views, and people that knew everyone in the town.
He had even made some friends! Well... two, maybe three. For a sociable guy, Scott was acting a bit shy. He knew Lexi, her brother Troy, Keiran, and... um, that was it? Scott swore he thought he met someone else, but he wasn't too sure. Well, there was that young girl who took care of Simon during those awful accidents. He's seen her around town since, though he hadn't personally spoken to her since that day. Yes, he also spoke to some of the nurses and doctors at the hospital he now worked at, but he was still shy.
Maybe getting out more would help with that shyness.
He thrived on first impressions, and so he was always a bit scared that he would mess up and create a horrible impression upon others. His grandmother had nailed that into his head, and no matter how much he tried to get rid of the habit, he couldn't. So, he had to deal with it. But it certainly wasn't fun to deal with when he was new -well, not so new now- to the town.
Scott had the day off -he tended to work nonstop, even if people suggested he should 'take a holiday'- so he decided he should take advantage of it. He rounded up his 'trusty' cat, Simon -who was thrilled to be out and about instead of lazing around the hotel room- and put a t-shirt with jeans. Usually, he wore his trench coat, but it was rather too warm for it, and so he decided to leave it behind for once. He grabbed his keys, wallet, a pair of sunglasses, and headed out of the room.
He walked to the harbor again. Why? He loved the ocean, obviously, and so he wanted to go see it again from a comfortable distance since he was such a clutz. Simon wasn't too happy, but he was glad they weren't on the dreaded beach. Plus, maybe his friend Keiran was out and about today, and they could talk some more about boats and everything else in between. Scott stared out at the boats, lost in thought, while Simon the cat stayed as far away as he could while still 'keeping an eye' on his owner. Who knows, maybe his owner would accidentally trip and fall into the water, and it would have to be up to the cat to save him. He better gets treats if that actually happened.
