Being on his own was sometimes difficult for Brenden. Yes, he enjoyed the independence, and he finally felt like he was his own person, but... it was difficult. Sometimes he forgot to brush his teeth, or take a shower, or even eat one of his meals. He had reminders, but he sometimes forgot to look at said reminders, and then he forgot what the reminder tried to remind him of. He was living, though, and he considered that a great victory.
Waking up wasn't a big issue for Brenden. He was a morning person anyways, so the early time he had to get up in order to get ready for his job didn't bother him. It was everything else that he sometimes struggled through. But... he got through it all. Even if he accidentally put his sweater on backwards, or accidentally put body wash into his hair.
It was a nice day out, and Brenden was feeling like getting some tea at the local cafe. He usually made his own, but he was looking forward to the aspect of having it made for him this time. Also, the tea at the cafe was actually pretty good. So, with John -his trusty stuffed animal that was a cat- in hand, he set out. He walked all the way to the cafe today -he didn't feel like using his car- and when he got there he felt a little winded. He was not deterred, though, and he ventured forth to get that cup of tea that he so rightly earned and deserved!
It felt a little bit like a quest to him, such as King Arthur and his brave knights seeking the Holy Grail. He was Sir Wesley, and he had his loyal companion Sir John at his side! Together, they would get their reward of... tea. Small steps, of course.
He ordered his drink, and sat down at one of the small tables. He placed the stuffed animal in his lap, and he hummed happily to himself as he waited for his tea to be made. Days like these made Brenden the most happy. At least he could relax and take in the scenery instead of worrying about what he had to do next, or what the next material he needed to learn for school.
