"Don't need no five star reservations
I've got spaghetti and a cheap bottle of wine
Don't need no concert in the city
I've got a stereo and the best of Patsy Cline
Ain't got no caviar no Dom Perignon
But as far as I can see, I've got everything I want"

history
Cameron comes from a complicated background, a very broken one. His parents-Samantha and Cooper-were happy together, so excited for him to be born. They did everything to prepare for his birth and documented so much(probably too much). After his birth is when it sort of went downhill. His mother got post-partum depression but it went undiagnosed. She spiraled downhill which caused a lot of fights for the tiny baby’s parents. Eventually she just couldn’t take it anymore. Cameron’s mom swallowed a couple handfuls pills, all different, and passed away. His father found her an hour alter while Cameron was slept in his crib, unaware of everything. That broke Cameron’s dad. He turned to drinking to in order to cope. At first it was just at night, to get by with work and taking care of this little baby. Then drinks were snuck in during the day then more then snuck in. Eventually the father’s mother and mother-in-law came by and decided no more.
The two women with their spouses went to court and gained joint custody of Cameron. Sad things was his father didn’t even show up to the hearing. He was passed out at home. That was the deciding factor. Cooper and Samantha’s parents decided to sell their homes and get a four bedroom together with a large basement that they converted to have a couple extra bedrooms for each of their other children who visit. It was a lot for the two older couples to think about but they knew neither could do it alone but as a team of four, they could do it.
That didn’t mean Cameron had any less of a troubled childhood. His father often came around drunk. Or he’d promise to get clean and start down the path but then something triggered him to go back. Cameron grew up hating his father. He had a lot of anger built up. Even lashed out a few times in school and off school grounds. He probably would have had a record if he wasn’t “saved”. One of his uncles came to Cameron’s aide and told him he couldn’t keep acting like this. That his grandparents didn’t uproot their lives and merge together for him to act like this. The teenager knew he was right but it was hard. So his uncle taught him to box to release that energy. It also helped him bulk up just enough to have some confidence. That confidence helped him get into a premed program.
Except Cameron was determined. He spent his summers taking classes so he could shave a year off his undergraduate studies. So when he entered medical school he was one of the “younger” students but that didn’t make him any less knowledgeable. No, taking classes during the summer helped him stay sharp. He even made sure to keep taking a couple during his medical school years, especially the pesky subjects that were needed like English. When it came time for his internship he could have chosen a big name hospital but no, Cameron wanted a small town. One of his grandfather’s had passed-his mother’s father-so his grandmother went to live with his uncle(the one who helped him) and his wife. His other grandparents wanted to travel so he decided to come settle in Maine. It was just the quiet life away from everything he had to deal with he wanted. He may not be super wealthy, only have a small apartment but he is happy. What helps is with the selling of the house his grandparents split it threw ways-between his three grandparents and some to him. Cameron used that to pay off some of his student loans, helping reduce the amount he had to pay each month. Being done his internship helps. Now he works as an attending at Hope Harbor Memorial’s Emergency Department.
