It is a fictional town. It is set in the actual Penobscot Bay in the state of Maine. So many other places mentioned are really such as Portland, Maine. » What’s the difference between inactive & indisposed? Inactive are players who have not logged in or posted in ten days. they gave us no notice in the absence boards or the chatbox(which only partially count for an absence). Characters in this group only remain here for another seven days before their accounts get deleted. Indisposed are players who are willing putting their character aside & giving up that playby. Perhaps because that character went to jail for being suspected, moved away for a little while or they are unsure of playing it. Their accounts are on hold but not the faces, even if the photos remain. » Why such strict activity rules? We have had too many issues with people joining, taking popular faces, then never posting. That is unfair to other members who have plots going with them. Especially with this type of board where things entwine so much with the townspeople. It also aggravates people who wish to join but cannot use a playby because we’re waiting around for an inactive member to come back. If your character is deleted & you wish to come back, you will have a probational period. Unfair? Too bad. We admin have to stand by our rules. » How does the tumblr work? It is another way to promote our wonderful site. People’s wanted ads are posted there to help out as well as get the site a little notice. Just like when we post on Caution 2.0 or A Thousand Fireflies. » Are you based off any television shows, movies or books? No. We may use images from shows which have hooded figures or evidence of a crime, but we are not based of any specific show, movie or book. avery & skylar. » How did you pick the names for Avery & Skylar? We picked a bunch of names that can be used for either gender & strung them together. This allows us to mask the identity of the person behind these attacks. » Why is Avery doing this? Well, that will be reveal a little at a time. Some characters will be told directly. Even if the post is public, unless stated otherwise only that character will know. » But I can‘t pretend I didn‘t see something that was written... True. You as the player saw it but your character did not. » Will Avery or Skylar do something to my character? There is that possibility. No, they will not kill your character without your permission but there will be certain things they do to harm people. You decide how seriously they are injured or mentally affected. If you’d like to volunteer for your character to be injured at some point, just pm the Avery account! We’ll gladly take volunteers, especially for big things such as kidnappings, comas, attempted murders... » Can my character be a suspect? Of course! People are going to have their theories on who Avery or Skylar is. Eventually we‘ll compile a list of suspects to help out with the plot. But they‘ll need a reason for being suspected so please message an admin as to why you think your character would make a good suspect. » Can my character be Avery or Skylar? Well, we already have plans for the person who is actually Avery down the line. Us admin plan to handle that aspect. As for Skylar, anyone can be Skylar. Actually, there may even be multiple Skylars! Avery cannot get their hands dirty alone. Now, if you wish to have your character be Skylar, you cannot tell a soul. There is also an “application” process. You have to pm Avery’s account in order to explain why you think your character would work for Skylar. Avery will then pick who they wish to have assist them. » What if my character is picked to be Skylar? As stated before, you cannot tell anyone else that your character is one of the ones assisting Avery. When it comes to site events where Avery & Skylar strike, you will be required to type a post from the point of view of Skylar. No nouns that define the gender can be used. For an idea of what to do, please refer to the first site event here & read over all the Avery & Skylar posts. Now, being Skylar is a huge matter of trust as we allow you to log into the Skylar account so we will pick whoever plays them very carefully. If you do anything to mess that up, we will revoke your right to play them. If your action was severe enough, you will be banned from the site.
