. The young man wheeled in the cart, Kylie tipped him and he promptly left after wishing her an enjoyable breakfast and a fine day. Kylie sat down at the little table that the cart had been placed by and watched the birds swoop down to the water to collect their own breakfast, as she munch on her bagel and eggs, and sipped her coffee. When she'd finished the bagel and eggs, she ate the blueberry parfait, which was simply scrumptious, brushed her teeth and set to work on doing her hair and make up. Today she had to look extra special, as she was to model some new Bridal gowns for Brooklyn. Kylie was so excited to do this. She'd done some modeling in her time, mostly to help out other students at school and she'd enjoyed it thoroughly. However, she'd never modeled a wedding dress. She'd never even been in one. This was all very exciting to the native Chicagoan. When she'd finished doing her hair and make up (a natural smokey eye and a modern twist on a classic up-do) she stepped into her powder blue heels, that matched the simple floral patterned tea length dress she wore, grabbed her pale pink coat off the bed, made sure she had her purse, cell phone and keys. She walked down the the parking lot and getting into her car, set off in the direction of Brooklyn's shop. Arriving, she parked in the back and used the employee entrance. The shop was all busy with ladies in gowns and gentlemen in tuxes all either getting their pictures taken or getting ready to. Kylie smiled as this took her back to design school and Milan and the New York Fashion shows. This was her environment. This was where she thrived. Finding Brooklyn, Kylie tapped her on the shoulder and when she turned around, greeted her with a hug. Well here I am, with bells on. she winked. I am so excited to do this. Kylie was nearly giddy with excitement, like a little school girl or something. It was rather endearing. [/ul]

( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn dreaded and was excited for Flash Day as she called it. That day she hired a local wedding photographer and gathered friends and volunteers to shoot photos for gowns she had. She absolutely hated the “suggested” advertisements that the companies sent. Plus, she was also throwing in her custom pieces she had done. A couple of the brides she had made them for were here while the rest of the gowns would be modeled by someone else. Of course she never repeated a design but it was like a public portfolio. Custom pieces brought in the most money for the store as the profits after materials went right back into the store. Of course it’d be split up and whatnot afterwards with employees but more went into the store then back out.
The first hour she had run around with her heels on. After that she didn’t care because they came off. Her hair was throw up in a bun with a pencil through it while she went through all the gowns. This was her largest shoot as more designers allowed her to carry their gowns. She had plans to have groups of brides, bridesmaids, bride and grooms and since prom was about five months away, prom dresses. That would hopefully bring in even more business. She went around to everyone, making sure everything was pinned back just right. Some of the gowns the backs would be unseen so she didn’t care if they used pins to “tailor” it just for this time. But for other ones that was unacceptable. Good thing she had met with about eighty percent of her models ahead of time.
When Kylie came in Brooklyn let out a sigh of relief. ”Thank God you are here.” She stepped back and held onto Kylie’s shoulder,s observing how she had done herself up. ”And thank you for doing your hair and make-up ahead of time. It is gorgeous.” Brooklyn and Kylie had become fast friends-really fast friends-and she liked that. Especially because she had been confused about things with Tristan so Kylie was a good buffer. Of course Brooklyn wanted to deny what Kylie and her grandmother was telling her but that was a story for another day. ”Your groom isn’t here yet but you are welcome to just relax. I want to get the big groups done first because then I can clear out a little over half of the people. There is breakfast laid out and you can sit anywhere you want. When Cameron gets here I’ll send him your way so it’s not oto awkward when he’s holding you close later.” Brooklyn hated when the photos looked stiff. No, the more natural the better

she laughed about her hair, than looked excitedly about the room. She loved busy goins on and crowded rooms full of lots of excited people. There was a group of teenage girls who had obviously never modeled before, but that could only be told by their exuberant excitement as they giggled amongst themselves and snapped self photos on their iphones, no doubt to be instagramed and posted to facebook. Kylie smiled and shook her head, remembering what it was like to be that age, than turned her attentions back to the hard-working Brooklyn. Is Tristan modeling today? Kylie asked in a nudging way. I bet he'd look ffiii-iine in a tux She winked. Brooklyn had been flustered and out of sorts, in a good way, ever since "that boy" had come to town. It was quite obvious that there was something between them, but neither Tristan nor Brooklyn would speak up about it and that was getting old to everyone else standing around, waiting for them to do something. Pft! Kylie waved her hand at Brooklyn. Don't be ridiculous. I've already eaten and I don't need to sit. This is my realm, I'm going to help you until "my groom" gets here...It's the least I can do after everything you've been doing for me Brooklyn. Kylie didn't wait for her to object, she took of her coat, hung it on the rack along with her purse and found a girl who's hair still hadn't been done, and went to work. Brooklyn had been so nice, letting her use the back room for her work while she was staying at the Inn and helping her look for a place when she had spare time, which wasn't often. Kylie wasn't about to just sit around, when there were thing she could be doing to help! When she had finished doing a few girls hair, she found a "bride" who's gown wasn't fitting just right. The poor woman was trying to pin it herself and would ruin the gown if she didn't get help. Here, let me do that. she said sweetly and too the pins from the woman, who looked rather relieved. Kindly she gave instructions to the "bride", stand here, turn this way, don't slouch, shoulder's back like you'd do in the picture, and within ten minutes, she had a perfectly fitting gown with no visible pins. Stepping back, Kylie proudly inspected her work. Gorgeous. She winked at the woman and sent her on her way. Looking around the room, Kylie found that all the brides and bridal parties and prom girls had either been taken care of, or were being taken care of. Going to the breakfast table, Kylie poured two cups of coffee. One for herself and one for Brooklyn, who was looking a bit frazzled. She sauntered to her friend and gently put the cup in her hand. They look great. You're doing a wonderful job. Kylie smiled as she stood next to the shop owner and watched. [/ul]

Brooklyn was so glad she met Kylie for more then one reason. They had instantly clicked, mainly for their shared love of fashion. That and conversation flwoed easily from the beginning. That wasn’t always easy with Brooklyn. Ok, that was a lie as it was easy for her to talk to people just not about herself. She was slowly starting to but it was still...difficult. She took a moment to breath out her stress before she chuckled. Oh, that’s not what she needed to hear from Kylie right now. ”I didn’t ask Tristan.” She paused before fiddling with some papers, acting like it was important while she waited for the first group to gather. ”I wouldn’t know if he would or not. Haven’t thought about it.” Brooklyn shrugged casually as she avoided eye contact for a moment. She wanted to focus on this today, not whatever the vibe she had with Tristan was.
She couldn’t help but be grateful that Kylie offered to help. ”Thank you. You don’t know how much I need it.” Now she could focus on just the photos instead of jumping between that and making sure everyone was getting ready just fine. Occasionally she’d glance over to make sure everything was ok. But, just like her, Kylie was a pro and knew what to do. That way Brooklyn could focus on helping her models pose just right and then go to the computer as the images popped up to make sure they came out as she wanted. She used her pen to scratch at her temple in thought. After one was group was done the next moved in while the others began to declothe. She bite down on her pen to keep her stress down.
Until Kylie came by. She gripped at her coffee before she took a sip. ”Thanks. I always think these come out better then the company ads. They seem more real.” She brought her shoulders up and breathed in. ”Speaking of more real, here’s Cameron now.” Brooklyn waved as the dirty blonde walked in.

[atrb=border, 0, true][atrb=style, width: 420px; background-color: #A9B1B9; border: 10px #1B2836 solid]it‘s amazing, you save me | tag: kylie | outfit | Notes: um the dog tags are his grandfathers?
Cameron rarely had days off he got to relax anymore. Either he was running errands, on the phone with his grandparents or visiting his friends. Today was a mix of all three. He was on his way out to help his sort-of-friend Brooklyn when his grandparents called. Throwing his Bluetooth in his ear, he chatted that way while driving. A much safer option then driving with his phone to his ear. And he hated speaker phone on a cell. It was really annoying. Apparently they were having a good time traveling but wanted him to check on his other grandmother. When they had all last spoke, she seemed a little down. Not surprising considering her husband had passed away, Cameron moved ot Maine and she had to move in with her son and his wife. Once off the phone he made a voice memo to plan a trip down to see just her. His other grandparents traveled so they were able to come see him whenever they wanted.
The phone call made him unable to stop for food. Good thing Brooklyn said she was providing food for everyone. The two weren’t super close but then again, they were both people who kept others a certain distance. That and she was really hyper. Like a seven year old who had candy, soda and coffee hyper. Sometimes he wanted to shoot her with a BB gun to get her to stop yipping around. Still, when she asked if he would do this he said yes. It helped she flattered him about being the perfect fit for the idea she had going. Really, despite not being close, she didn’t have to twist his arm. Yes, he had friends but more of them were fellow medical professionals. So he had to wait for some of them to be free which who knows when that would be from day to day. Today probably would’ve been spent at home after he was done doing his meek grocery shopping.
Once his truck was parked, he went around the back. He grabbed his phone just in case but wasn’t too concerned. Outside of work, Brooklyn and maybe a couple other people he didn’t have many close relations up here. Actually, he was only close to one person and she was a premed student. No they weren’t close in that sense but it was like a sibling relationship. Or as sibling as it could be. She had a hard time trusting people and he just kept things to himself. His past was complicated and some people gave him pity when they heard it. Cameron hated that. Yes, it was shitty but he came out of it just fine. Sure he had a ton of debt but he was paying it off. And at least he was happy enough with the direction his life was headed. Just because he was raised by his grandparents in a merged home didn’t mean he was any less of a person then someone raised by a mom or a dad or both.
When he first walked in it took a moment to take in all the colors. The white was bright to his eyes while the colors of the bridesmaids dresses were a stark contrast. The real winners of killing his eye site were what he assumed were prom dresses. They were not like ones he remembered in high school. Crazy prints, shiny rhinestones and how much skin the cuts revealed were insane. He shook his head before he headed over to Brooklyn who was waving at him. ”No offense but this is nuts. I do not remember being able to see that much of my prom date. Before, during or after prom.” His awkward joke felt even weirder with a pretty blonde he hadn’t met before. He nodded at her before extending his hand. ”Hi there. I’m Cameron. So did Brooklyn blackmail you into coming here like she did me?” Probably the wrong thing to say because he was promptly smacked upside the head. ”Ow really! Your father may be a soldier but he doesn’t scare me woman. I will lock you in a closet and tell that cop ex of yours where to find you.” Cameron knew Seth and knew it was a surefire way to piss Boroklyn off. He moved sideways before she could strike him again, sending a grin to the other woman.

Kyie said with a playful grin. He's just a hot young Brit who happens to be head over heels for you.....everyone's been talking about it....but you haven't thought about him in a tux or....anything else for that matter. She teased. Perhaps it was too far, but Kylie knew Brooklyn and the woman could hanle a joke. Just to make sure Brooklyn was okay , she laughed and gave her a hug. You're so funny when you get flustered.Kylie smiled and nodded when Brooklyn thanked her for the help she had offered. Of couse Kylie didn't mind in the least. She loved doing this kinda thing. She was completely in her element here. They do deinitely Kylie agreed. The company ads are just too generic. Personal touches always bring in better sales. Kylie turned to see this Cameron as Brooklyn said he'd arrived. She smiled as she watched him walk in, observing the room. Kylie stffled a laugh at his comment about the prom dresses. It was true and it was nice to find a guy that wasn't panting like a dog over it. Kylie had always een one that preffered a more modest look. She felt it was more lady-like to be covered up, than to have all her business hang out there for the world to see. Kylie held one of her small, elelgant hands to Cameron to shake. I'm Kylie, she introduced herself. It's a pleasure to meet you, and no.. she laughed I am a willing participant....Brookyn lets me use her sewing room for my own projects and in return I model for her....You must have some pretty good secrets to get blackmailed into a bridal advertizement. The blond winked at him. Kylie's eyes got big when Cameron commented about Seth. Oh....ho, ho, ho, hoooo....We've got a live one here eh?! Kylie commented. She of course knew who this Seth was, but no major details about Brooklyn's history with him, only that they had been together and things just didn't work out. I think I'll go get dressed now. She said, wanting to get out of this conversation before it got ugly for reaon See you in a minute hubby. She winked at Cameron before going to her assigned dressing room. Kylie loved the the style Brooklyn had chosen for her. A flowly a-line, with an intricately beaded bodice, a red rose bouquet, and a vintage-style fascinator veil. She put it on and it made her wish it was her wedding day for real, but she had no groom i mind really. When she had finished dressing, she stepped out of the dressing room and smiled at Brooklyn, and putting her arms up in an a model pose, she grinned at her friend. How do I look?[/ul]

Cameron was usually a lot more mindful of his manners then he was just now when it came to meeting Kylie. Normally he wouldn’t just interject into a conversation already in progress. Unless he needed to talk to a patient. He was just so exhausted from spending last night catching up on sleep that he wasn’t himself. The nights he crashed he usually woke up sort of in a daze. With a chuckle he shook her hand. ”Hi. Like wise.” A nod of understanding came moved his head up and down. ”I should have figured. You have the same look in your eyes as Brooklyn. You’re gaga for organza.” His brow furrowed in amusement as laughed at his own lame joke. After he shook his head while he rubbed at the side of his neck. ”Nah not secrets per say. She just threatened to cover my truck in Post-It Notes if I didn’t do this favor for her.” Cameron shook his head while he wrinkled his nose at her. He loved trying to push Brooklyn’s buttons. Sometimes she seemed so tightly wound he thought her head would pop off from the pressure. ”Yeah well it’s the least I could do for my pal, Seth. Ever since he saw you that night it’s all he can talk about.” Oh Cameron knew he was in hot water when she shot a look of daggers at him. When she demanded he go get in his tux he straightened his back and saluted. ”Ma’am, yes ma’am. Just don’t use the whip, ma’am. You’re not my type ma’am.” As he turned Kylie went off on her own as well. He shook his head as he chuckled. That girl was something else. Lively. He could already tell.
Cameron slipped into the changing stall where his tux was set up. He hates wearing these things but he was willing to do it. Plus, his face would be up around the shop and in various town circulars. That was good exposure for the hospital. Plus, he was raised around people who knew how to tie bow ties so at least he had that skill. After he fluffed it out some, he checked to make sure he was all buttoned up and everything was straightened out. With that he stepped out and nodded to some people around him. The group being photographed had changed since he went in and some people had left. This really wasn’t his normal crowd. Plus, everything seemed to have change from when he is school. The fashions were different, the kids seemed to have different values...Sure he was no angel but he didn’t do half the things he saw kids do now a days. Most he knew from when they ended up in the emergency room. Some of the things were just tragic. Cameron hated those confrontations with parents the most.
Cameron looked at some of the images in the shop while he waited for their turn. His hands were in the pockets of the tux pants while he hummed some tune he had heard on the radio. When he heard Kylie’s voice, he turned. Without thinking he blurted out, ”You look beautiful.” Cameron cleared his throat and laughed nervously. ””Sorry, there I go being rude again. I’ll just go grab a coffee until you’re ready for me. Figured I’d skip the food, you know. The camera adds ten pounds.” After that he moved to the refreshment table and poured half a cup of coffee so not to accidentally spill it on himself.

She wasn't bragging, Kylie hated bragging, she was just stating the fact. She'd often been told that she got a look in her eye, more a sparkle or a twinkle, when she was at work doing her fashion stuff. Kylie absolutely loved it. It was her greatest passion in life, aside from trying to find her sister of course. Kylie raised her eyebrows at the post it note comment. Post it notes....how....menacing. she winked and looked at Brooklyn. I really thought you'd be more creative than that....a glitter bomb, or nail polish.....or tule or something. She smiled at her friend, so that she would know she was only teasing and inteded no harm by her comments. She was finding this Cameron rather...charming? Was that the word? Yes. Charming, but in a very mischivious way. It was thorougly entertaining to her. However, she did bite her lip nervously when Cameron made yet another reference to Seth. If Cameron didn't watch out, there was going to be quite the price to pay. Kylie stood posing for Brooklyn after she'd dressed and asked how she looked. She was a tiny bit startled when a male voice replied instead of Brooklyn. Kylie's head snapped in the direction the voice came from and then she blushed and looking down, almost in an embarrased manner, she giggled softly to herself. Kylie had always been bashful when receiving compliments. She thought it curious that he apologized for paying her the compliment, but let it slide. When Cameron excused himself to get a cup of coffee, Kylie looked at Brooklyn, grinning eyes twinkling. There's just....something about him isn't there? Kylie lifted her shoulders and giggling a bit as she watched Cameron from behind. He's bad....but oh so charming. Kylie looked back at Brooklyn. Wherever did you find him? she inquired. After a few moments, Kylie went with Brooklyn to the back drop and did a few poses herself before Cameron came over. She couldn't help but look his direction and he seemed to saunter their way when summoned by Brooklyn. All the hair was now standing up on her arms and a chill went down her spine, but it wasn't cold in the store. It was quite warm. Aparently this Cameron was having an effect on dear Kylie. ( STATUS ) COMPLETE Brooklyn huffed as she preoccupied herself while Kylie talked about Tristan. Her voice was full of frustration as she said, ”He is not head over heels for me. He is nice to me because I’m Oliver’s friend. That’s it.” Brooklyn was in serious denial. Kylie knew it, her grandmother knew it, Alex knew it and apparently the rest of the town knew it. She hated living in a small town sometimes! ”Glad you think so. Today is enough stress and I don’t need to be bothered about my love life. Or lack therefore of.” Brooklyn pressed the heel of her palms to her forehead. Today was not the day to deal with all of this. Another day, another talk, another drink the two women could talk about everything.
”What I didn’t say was what I would do to the inside of his car. I have some very pretty fabrics printed out for the new designs inside the car.“ Brooklyn gazed at Cameron from the corner of her eyes. ”Yes but do you know how to shoot a gun, because I do. And I know the first place I will aim for.” Her gaze went pointedly to a very specific part of his body before she shook her head. She was glad for the moment that the two distracted one another. When he continued Brooklyn couldn’t help but slam her clipboard on the table. ”What the hell is with everyone butting into my love life today!” She didn’t lose her temper often but today wasn’t a day she anted to deal with everything. She turned and leaned against the table, well aware some teenagers were probably tweeting about her minor melt down. Brooklyn dropped her voice low as she looked at Cameron first. ”OK if Seth mentions me one more time remind him my daddy is a Marine who also happens to still hate his guts. And daddy will be so very happy to pay him a visit when he comes here in a couple months.” Next she turned to Kylie. ”And nothing is happening between Tristan and I nor will happen. He lives in England. He only comes here for about a month at a time every four months. That is not fair to either of us.” She breathed in and put on a very fake smile. ”Now can we just focus on all the couples I have paired up here? Hey, I could be cupid and maybe help two people hook up.” She watched as Cameron and Kylie walked off, a sly grin on her face. Yes, Brooklyn was playing cupid indeed. She wasn’t stupid when pairing them together. Even if they didn’t end up together, she wanted them to meet. Yes, the two had to meet.
She was glad as the second set of photos was gone and the third one was started. That left one more before Kylie and Cameron and then she had all the prom photos left after that. When Kylie came back she smiled and was about to give her opinion when Cameron jumped in. Brooklyn couldn’t help but cover the lower half of her face from her nose down with her clipboard. She knew Cameron was a romantic deep down but just coming out with that the first day meeting a girl? That was bold. When Kylie turned back she laughed behind her clipboard. ”My grandmother found him. You know, the town welcoming committee?” Brooklyn went over to correct the models before she came back to Kylie and wrapped an arm around her waist. ”Ok so he’s had a rough life. He was raised by his grandparents though I‘m not sure why. He’s a doctor at the hospital-worked his ass off to get there. He’s the kind of guy you settle down with, not have a fling with. So if you flirt with him or sleep with him or date him just know that all that has made him a really, really good guy. He’s a friend of mine and you’re a friend of mine so I won’t choose ever.” She looked at Kylie, showing the seriousness of her words. Brooklyn’s eyes went far off. She liked helping friends find someone but realized she was very much alone.
”Now I want to finish up this group and then there is one more before you two. Why don’t you go get to know him while I focus on this? Maybe I can even bump one other group before you if you’d like some more time?”

Cameron pouted at Brooklyn. The girl acted like things were so tough with her just because they all picked on her every once in awhile. Both her and himself bottled things up so he got why she was upset but it was still fun to tease her. He threw his hands up in the air and put on a very blank face. ”Ok ok, I will tell him. He might be more convinced to back off, though, if he saw you with someone. Like at the tree lighting in a few weeks? Nice and public. Hold a hand, give a few kisses and bam! I can hook him up with the nurse at work who wants him.” When Kylie mentioned some guy named Tristan he narrowed his eyes. That name sounded very familiar. ”Tristan…” was drawn out as he tried to think. ”Isn’t he the brother of that doctor friend of yours? Oliver? I still need to meet him. We are really short staffed.” That conversation would wait another day though. Cameron could tell that maybe he had poked the bear too much. He knew women and he knew if he stuck around his family jewels would end up in a jar on a shelf somewhere.
When Kylie blushed at his comment, he found it very cute. Cameron wasn’t one who was actively looking someone to date. He was one who sort of threw chance to fate. In his college years he had some one night stands but that wasn’t the kind of girl he wanted. He wanted a girl with some standards and class. Not money type of class but knew how to dress modestly and didn’t try to show off as much skin to every guy they could. He knew some girls who did that despite being in a relationship. No, he wasn’t against sex before marriage but didn’t want that to define a relationship. Because what happened if sex was taken away? Like someone’s leg was broken or they were seriously ill and couldn’t do that anymore? What was left when all they were good at was the physically intimate things? Cameron didn’t open up about his past to all his friends but with the right girl, he just might.
Despite saying he wouldn’t eat, Cameron had to. He felt his stomach turn over from the emptiness. After he finished one cup of coffee he set it aside while he grabbed some food. A bit of fruit salad, toast and some pretzels seemed like safe choices. He looked around and found a spot to sit on a settee. He set down his coffee first then his food before he settled down. Next Cameron tucked a napkin into his top like a dork. If this was a tux he owned that would be one thing but it wasn’t and Cameron could not afford to spend nearly a thousand dollars on a tux at this present moment. Once all settled he brought the plate midway up his chest and bite into his toast first, grateful that there was food here. All he needed was for Kylie and Brooklyn to hear his stomach growling during their photos.

Kylie said this low so that only Brooklyn could hear her. I don't want to tell you what to do....But don't throw away a great chance at love Brooklyn....you could be the happiest girl in the world. Kylie smiled and winked at her. Kylie felt bad when Brooklyn got upset. She hadn't meant to upset her, just to give her some friendly advice. Kylie had given up the chance of love before over denial and she didn't want the same thing to happen to Brooklyn. The woman obviously needed some romance in her life, not that she couldn't do without it, but you could just kinda tell when someone had a lonely heart. All Kylie wanted was for her to have that chance with a really great guy and Tristan was a really great guy. He wasn't for her, but he was great and Tristan and Brooklyn got along so well. It seemed to Kylie that Brooklyn wasn't so much in denial as it was that she was afraid of a long distance relationship. And maybe it was good to be. Perhaps Kylie was crazy for wanting Brooklyn to try it. But she didn't think so. Kylie grinned. Your grandmother finds everyone doesn't she. She just loved that. Brooklyn's grandmother wasn't necessarily a busy body. And she didn't quite interfere in people's lives. She just kinda nudged people in the direction she thought was best for them....Kinda like what Brooklyn did from time to time. Kylie continued to watch Cameron casually as Brooklyn told a bit about his life and who he was. Brows furrowed Kylie looked at her. Brooklyn...really? she inclined her head. I do not trifle with men... she smiled. You should know by now that I am not scandalous....And why would you ever have to choose between Cameron and I? Kylie looked at her, realizing her "evil" plan. You are sly aren't you Brooklyn. Kylie laughed and nodded. Yah....give us some time. Turning around to look in the mirror, Kylie made sure that everything as in place, than with a final "wish me luck" wink to Brooklyn, she made her way to Cameron. Taking a small scone off the table, Kylie turned to him. So....Brooklyn tells me you're a doctor? Her eyes did a once over on him. Her heart beat faster as she watched his mannerisms. Kylie wasn't one to believe in love at first sight, but this certainly was a queer feeling and if it wasn't love, she didn't know what else to call it. [/ul]

Brooklyn pressed her lips together to keep her short fuse from being let out. She could already feel it coming up. ”Advice received. Advice processed. Advice denied.” She smiled softly as she sighed. “How do you even know it’d be a great love?” That thought was more for herself. Something she thought about while waiting for Kylie to come back around. She was a girl who went after what she wanted when it came to a guy. Brooklyn admired her for that. She giggled as she shrugged. “I’m not saying you do. Though scandalous is kind of fun at times.” Brooklyn winked back at Kylie, sending the blonde on her way while she went to the group of students and told them the change in the line up. They seemed pretty excited which was helpful. Maybe if they were too excited the pictures would get a little blurry, allowing a few more minutes for Kylie and Cameron to talk.
Cameron was glad to have something to eat. He had gone through his food rather quickly. Apparently he was really hungry. That was probably a sign he should probably take more breaks to get some real food in his system. Chips and candy probably weren’t really a good thing to be having. He wiped his hands on the napkin and looked around. Brooklyn and Kylie seemed to be pulled in close talking about something serious. All he could see was a profile view but he couldn’t help but watch. He wasn’t one who dated often or even tried to. Most of the time he was too exhausted. Though dating a doctor seemed like a dream for some girls, an emergency room doctor was different. His hours were weird and Cameron never knew if he’d get home on time. The couple of attempts at a relationship he had gone for didn’t last long. Though he was willing to work the girls he usually went for didn’t. Not like there were that many women around his age he got along with great. Being raised by his grandparents his values were different. He never really jumped right into sex, he didn’t like a lot of the grinding dancing at most clubs and personally he enjoyed when a girl had some modesty. One could be sexy without showing off their entire bodies to everyone. That had been a fight he had with one girlfriend that probably wasn’t a great thing to bring up while sleep deprived.
Now, he was cautious with relationships. When he moved in with a woman next it’s because he saw a future. That didn’t mean they had to get married necessarily though that was a hope of his. Being twenty-six it was something he was thinking of. Being here made him think of it here. Kylie was very pretty in a wedding gown herself. The one she had chosen was fairly classic from what he understood. When he tore his eyes away he noticed a couple high school girls looking his way and he smiled while shaking his head. Nope, things never changed. girls always liked the older guys while their boyfriends or the guy friend who would do anything for them watched. That was amusing on some aspects but sad on others. Especially since teens seemed a lot more moody then when he was in school.
Cameron pushed up on the seat to go grab one more small thing to nibble on. Once done here he’d go grab some real food. He found a cookie and couldn’t help but indulge in one of them. Ok, maybe three of them. Not like it was the only thing he was eating for breakfast. While he put them on a napkin, Kylie came around. The way she moved was adorable though it didn’t seem like she was trying really hard to do it. Or that could be Cameron’s perception of things. He often misread signals. ”Yeah I am. I guess it’s fair you know something about me since I know something about you. Though it is still slightly uneven. You know how I met Brooklyn. Now how did you meet her?” He was pretty sure that it was the same way he had met her. Brooklyn had a way to just wiggle her way into people’s lives. She liked to say her grandmother had something to do with it but he didn’t think it was all her. Still, it helped because she had a way of connecting people who wouldn’t meet on their own. Like some of the friends he had. Cameron never got out much so when Brooklyn found someone that she thought would be cool for him to hang around, they were usually introduced at some point.
”So, have you moved to Hope Harbor or have you lived here and are just someone lucky enough to never land in the emergency room?”

she laughed I'm looking for my sister...we were both given up for adoption as children...well she was a toddler, I was a baby....but anyway, I've traced her here....And Brooklyn is helping continue my search.....So I've been staying at the inn. Kylie explained, answering all his questions at once. And for the record...I'm from Chicago...and no I've never been to the emergency room....at least...not for myself She smiled. Kylie poured herself another cup of coffee and flavored it to her liking. She looked at Cameron and sighed. Are you a coffee addict too? She inquired. Brooklyn and I can't seem to function without it! Kylie eyed him, slyly, so he might not notice. He looked "fine and dandy" in a tux and she didn't mind saying so, at least, not to herself. Saying it out loud would have turned her red as a ripe tomato. What about you? she asked softly. Where are you from....before here I mean?' It was obvious he hadn't always lived here. He didn't have the Maine accent that the others, like Brooklyn and her Grandmother, and that Seth had. He was different. [/ul] SORRY IT'S SHORT

Cameron hated talking about his job. It could be very depressing at times. When you saw someone who had barely gotten a chance to leave die because of an accident or drinking when they shouldn’t, it got to you. In the beginning, Cameron took a lot of things personally. He got too invested with patients. While it was good to get to know them, when you got too close if they passed then it got hard. He had to learn to set aside his feelings and focus on doing what he could to help. A good way to do that was he challenged how he felt when around his father-indifferent.
Cameron listened to her intently, his eyes focused on her face. Cameron was a guy who liked to look someone in the eyes or close to it when talking to them. When distracted it gave off the wrong impression. Especially when it came to first getting to know them and important conversations. When she sort of gave up dancing around the subject, he couldn’t help but laugh with her. It died down slightly as he nodded. ”Must be hard, trying to find her.” He glanced back at Brooklyn and nodded knowingly. ”Yeah she has a way of doing that. Sometimes it’s helpful but other times it’s a real pain in the ass.” Like when she came around at ten am when he had worked until seven. When he got little sleep outside of work, Cameron could be a bit grouchy. Well, if he was disrupted for no real reason at all. Which, with Brooklyn, that was usually the case when she came around his place. Good thing he locked the door. He heard horrow stories of her barging into people’s homes that she was close with.
Cameron shifted his head from side to side though not really shaking it. More of moving it amusingly. ”I guess you could say I am but not by choice. I have the overnight shifts right now so I need to function when I am up in the daylight.” He winked at Kylie playfully. ”Instead of just avoiding the sunlight like those sparkly vampires, I need coffee to keep my cover.” He wasn’t that up to date on movies but knew enough listening to the babbling girls who came in. That and the weird Forty Shades or whatever. Pop culture was not Cameron’s strong suit at all. ”Maybe we should start a group. CAA-Caffeine Addicts Anonymous. Unless you two already have pow wows.”
Cameron stared off for a moment. No, he wasn’t from around here and that was a good thing. No one knew about how his father had spiraled out of control after his mother’s death. How he had a weird arrangement with being raised by both sets of grandparents under one roof. No, here no one knew about it. They knew he had a broken background but that was about it. He never told them much more. ”No I’m not. I’m from Alabama. Moved here to do my internship and decided to stay. It’s peaceful.” He enjoyed that, reminded him of home. Just not as humid. ”So if you find this sister of your’s, do you plan on staying? Or trying to get her to move to Chicago?”

What could she say? She was a determined girl who knew what she wanted out of life, for the most part, and fought to get it. There was nothing wrong with that, right? Of course not, as long as what one wanted out of life was moral. My parents and friends think I should stop. She sighed. They think that it's just too hard on me....They mean will. But none of them were adopted, so they can't really relate to the need to find your own flesh and blood. Shaking her head, she looked at him. Sorry....dont' meant to ramble or lay all my troubles at your door.....I gotta work on that. Kylie smiled gracefully than took another small sip of coffee. Kylie looked at him, almost sympathetically when he said he worked nights. That's gotta be hard she stated the obvious. I've always wondered how people survive working like that....I mean I am a night owl and stuff, but I don't think I could manage to stay up the entire night working.....Did it take you long to get used to it? Kylie was probably asking far too many questions, but she was curious by nature and loved to get to know people. Her questions and sometimes long windedness had gotten her "in trouble" more than once. But she was from the "windy city" and they didn't call it that becase of the breeze (a common misconception). They called it that because of all the "hot air". Kylie laughed at his joke about CAA That is not a bad idea at all. she giggled again, thinking of the very idea of it. But only if we can hold our regular meetings at Wish Cafe, so we can hsve our coffee. Of course Kylie knew that would defeat the purprose, but since it was all a joke anyways, she thought that made it sound a bit...funnier. Kylie shook her head in agreement. It is peaceful....definitely different than Chicago.....I love it here. She told him. Kylie sighed, at his question. It was a quandry that had been raised in her mind several times, but she had yet to come up with an answer to it. On one hand, she wanted to stay here, even if she didn't find her sister. On the other hand, she did miss her parents and friends and her home city, and wanted to go back there. Of course, when her career really took off, she wouldn't be spending much time in any one particular place. So it probably didn't really matter where she called "home". I dunno yet...I guess I'll just cross that bridge when I get to it. She shrugged. Looking at him, she smiled wistfully. I know what you're thinking... Kylie told Cameron. It's written all over your face...I'm just another womn who doesn't know what she wants. She gave him a look that said "I'm right, aren't I?" Well on one hand you're right....but on the other hand, I do know what I want most of the time...It's just this current sitaution that's got me a little muttled. Kylie explained. [/ul]
