She was on the floor of her home.
Her parents, Daniel and Alex were over her.
Sophie was on the phone with 911.
Nicholas, Mark and David were by the door waiting for the ambulance.
Someone was smoothing her hair out of her face.
Someone else was saying her name, trying to get her to wake up.
Soft groans left her lips but she was too weak to move.
Paramedics put an oxygen mask over her face and put a blood pressure cuff on her.
They seemed worried.
Two sets of hands lifted her onto a gurney.
Sirens rang in her ears.
Bright lights in her eyes.
Bumps as she left the ambulance and was rushed into the hospital.
More hands lifted her to another bed.
Two people helping her change from her cloths to a gown.
An iv in her arm.
And then silence. Just silence for the longest time ever. When nearly through one bag of iv fluids, Leila woke up for a bit of time. Reagan was by her side; apparently she was on duty tonight. Daniel had tracked her down since he was there with her mother. Leila’s tongue felt thick so all she could do was nod and get a few words out. Apparently she was severely dehydrate which was about right. Lately she was getting sick so often she was forgetting to drink. She’d rinse out her mouth after throwing up but that was about it plus something with meals. In fact, she drank maybe a third of the fluids she did before. So stupid of her. This stomach virus was really taking a toll on her all around.
With the help of ice cubes to ease her dry mouth she told Reagan and the doctor about how she had been feeling so run down. Throwing up and shaking all the time. The doctor asked if there was a chance that she was pregnant and Leila gave a flat out, ”No,” despite how hoarse her voice was. ”I've taken several tests." Her mom and Daniel-who still had no clue-were outside the curtain so she told Reagan to explain things to the doctor when they had a private moment. Even with them asking it, the thought was far from her mind. She was on birth control and they used condoms, all on top of her issues. The one time they didn’t use a condom she had taken a bunch of tests a couple weeks later. Plus, she had gotten her period a few days later. Mind you it was lighter but with her condition that sometimes happened. One couldn’t get pregnant if they got their period right after, right? She was so drained she just didn’t know.
After her mom and Daniel came back to her side of the curtain, she chatted for a few minutes before going back to sleep. The nausea medications they had given her made her even more tired on top of the current exhaustion she had. Sleep was a welcomed friend.

Cameron was tired. Thankfully he had gotten a nap in the on call room before the emergency room got really crazy. Well, sort of crazy. There was a kid who decided to try peeking at his parents wrapping gifts and fell down the stairs, someone who cut themselves with a box cutter and then a couple who had gotten in an accident when they hit some black ice. A fairly slow night. Well, it was until the ambulance came through with a call over the radio.
’Nineteen year old female fainted at home. In and out of consciousness with dehydration. BP 73 over 40. Unable to insert IV on field or en route. ETA four minutes.’
Cameron groaned before he started ordering one of the rooms cleared out and the doors swung open. Equipment was pushed out of the way and everything they would need was brought to the doorway. Nothing was to be brought in until the girl was transferred from the ambulance gurney to one of their beds. Cameron waited by the ambulance bay doors for everyone to arrive. About the same time the boxed vehicle got here, a man came running up to the doors. He seemed to be anxious, waiting. When the paramedics were unloading the patient Cameron figured he must somehow be connected to the girl since he instantly rushed to her side. The other woman who stepped out must be the mother. Cameron met them outside and talked to the paramedics as the wheeled her in. the girl was very pale, especially her lips. Not a very good sign. She didn’t seem to be presently conscious but hopefully that could change. He ordered a round of IV fluids, all her vitals to be taken and hooked up to a heart monitor for the time being. One of the medical students seemed to know the girl which, unfortunately, was unavoidable in this town. But Reagan was on his service so not much he could do. Once it was cleared up they weren’t related but that she did know some of the patient-Leila’s-medical history, he let her into the room.
Once Leila was awake, he asked her mother and the gentleman to step out so the three of them could speak alone. Apparently she had been feeling very sick, exhausted and faint for a couple months now. The girl looked ragged indeed.”Miss Scott is there any chance you’re pregnant?” When she explained no she had taken some tests he simply nodded. Still, they’d probably end up running it just in case. For now he ordered some zofran for her nausea then stepped aside. Reagan gave her a run down of Leila’s complicated medical condition which led Cameron to think maybe an iron problem. He knew that condition could cause hemorrhaging in some patients so he wanted to be cautious on all ends. Though he gathered the boyfriend didn’t know so they knew they couldn’t say anything. From there, the two stepped out and talked to the mother first while the boyfriend went in with her. They got a rundown of what had been going on but the woman didn’t seem to know much. Apparently her daughter spent the nights she worked late at her boyfriend, Daniel’s, house. He took a few notes then sighed, asking if he could have permission to talk to Daniel. According to some files they had on Leila, her mother was her proxy and in this condition they would be asking the elder Scott for permission for everything tonight.
Cameron leaned against the counter of the emergency room while he took notes, waiting for this Daniel to come around. He hated cases like this, especially on a night like Christmas Eve. When the other man came around Cameron had a strained smile as he extended his hand. ”Hi I’m doctor Matthews. Now Mrs. Scott said that her daughter, uh Leila, was at your house most nights. Can you tell me what happened tonight? Also, has anyone close to her been seriously ill lately? This year’s flu epidemic has been severe and this could be it but we need more information before we can proceed.” At nineteen, with a girl dating mother’s didn’t always know their daughters. Perhaps the patient’s boyfriend would be able to give Cameron some insight her mother couldn’t.

It all had happened so fast he was still confused about what had happened. There they were all laughing and having fun and then Leila was on the floor passed out. It took only a nanosecond for him to be there by her side calling out for her to wake up. When the paramedics came he was somewhat relieved that they were going to go to the hospital to make her all better. When they rushed her in the ambulance he had gone with her mother inside of it holding her hand the whole way there. When they came in and stuck the IV into her he was still there. Nothing was going to stop him from being there.
When everything was finished he stood there holding her hand while she laid there resting. What in the hell was going on? Was she going to be okay? Hopefully she would be. When the doctor came in and started asking her questions he sighed and walked out with her mom so they would be able to talk without them in there. Heading down the hall he got himself a cup of coffee and then one for her mom. When he returned he handed it to her and noticed they were allowed to go back in. Walking back into the room he retook his seat next to her and took her hand again.
Finishing his coffee he tossed it in the bin while thinking about what he could do. Making sure she was asleep he walked out and decided to go to the gift shop to get her a teddy bear. That would get her all better. Sure it wasn’t as special as the stuffed animal he had won her at the founders fair but it was still something. Taking fifteen minutes in the shop he found the perfect bear and purchased it.
Making his way back to her room he looked at her doctor who stopped him. Oh great, now what was this all about? Listening to him he nodded his head. “Yeah, she stays at my house most nights. As for what happened tonight I have no idea. I think she said something about feeling a little sick about ten minutes before she passed out. As for being around anyone sick well she’s in high school still so you know what it’s like. Being around others who can bring in anything. I know she’s puked a couple of times but that’s about it.” That was all he knew about what was going on with her.
He looked into the doctors eyes and frowned. “Just make sure she gets the best treatment possible.” That was his girlfriend and he didn’t care what it took to find out what was wrong with her but he wanted it found out now. “Is that all or do you have more questions?” He was ready to get back to her side and spend the whole night with her if he had too. It would still be Christmas for them if they had to spend it in the hospital.

As Daniel spoke, Cameron’s brow furrowed in thought. Still in high school? But this girl was nineteen. Reading over what Leila’s mother had told him, along with some information from Reagan, he skimmed over her condition. Since he didn’t know what Daniel knew and since he wasn’t married to her, he couldn’t discuss much else. He read about her ending her treatments back at the end of September. From his rotation in obstetrics, he knew those sort of hormones could stay in a woman’s body for a good chunk of time. It was possible to him that she was pregnant but at the same time, the condition was conflicting. Still, being a doctor he had to order a test before he could go further with other treatment options.
He sighed as he flipped the folder closed and smile at Daniel. ”Um just one more. How have her moods been lately?” This was a question also posed to Mrs. Scott but she honestly didn’t know, told the doctor to ask Daniel. There was the possibility if she wasn’t pregnant there could still be some hormones lingering. Especially if they started her on birth control too soon after she had ended those treatments. Her body could be in shock from the flood of hormones in her system. Yes, it was possible to have too many in one’s body. This could be the case for her. Basically, any one of three main possibilities in his head. If not then Cameron was actually stumped. ”Alright, alright that’s all the question I have. Thank you.”
One the two men had finished talking, he ordered a generic round of blood tests before he took a moment to sit down. His hands rubbed at his face, noticing he needed to shave. The other beds were quiet or being discharged. The man from the accident was being admitted while the female discharged. Though he gathered she was refusing to leave. He was waiting for the kid to get back to x-ray and the guy who had cut himself was on his way home. Once the kid’s scans came back he went in to tell the parents there was no concussion or signs of bleeding. Cameron ordered some pain medication in case it got really bad but basically said if he didn’t worsen in the next hour they could go home. Once back at the counter he saw Leila’s labs were in and he glanced over them. His brows shot up as he looked over them. He looked up and laughed. Well this was a surprise. Once he closed the file, he went and grabbed a portable ultrasound machine. With the way everything was panning out he had to do one of these. He dragged it over to where Leila Scots room was and knocked on the door frame. ”Hello.”
Cameron set the machine up on the side of her bed and wake Leila up while the machine powered up. ”Well we’ve got your test results. Everything looks great except well,” he paused as he smiled. ”Well how about I just show all of you ok?” It was Christmas Eve and he was dragged in to cover a shift. Why not try to be cheerful and do some surprises. Once Leila had rolled up her shirt he put that awful blue goo on her stomach before he put the wand to her abdomen. With some maneuvering around he grinned and turned on the sound. With Leila’s question he couldn’t help but chuckle a little. ”That is your baby’s heartbeat which is right on target for being about twelve weeks.” He heard a noise from the mother behind him and couldn’t help but laugh some more. ”Marry Christmas!”

Oh god this was so crazy having to talk to her doctor and answer all the questions that he was asking about her. Some of it seemed kind of personal but he would get over that as long as his Leila turned out to be fine in the end. He cared about her no matter what Alex said. Could Alex really say that Daniel didn’t care about Leila when he was here now with her in the hospital and he was no here in sight? Sure he jumped right on in the ambulance with her mom so he could hold her hand the whole way to the hospital.
Leaning against the desk he tried to remember how Leila had been acting the past few weeks. Closing his eyes he sighed and then nodded as he tried to remember everything very clearly. “Well there have been slight mood swings. Like one minute she’ll be hungry and the next she’ll push it away saying she wants to puke because the smell is making her sick.” Hopefully that would help him in the diagnosis of what was going with her. He stood there waiting to know if there was anything else that he needed to know.
Now this whole thing was making him nervous! With everything he was asking made him want to know if she was okay. Visibly he was sturdy as a rock but inside he was shaking as his nerves started to take over. “Are you sure that’s all?” When he got the word that it was the last of the information that was needed he started heading back to Leila’s room. He stood outside the door as he watched Leila and her mother for a few seconds. When it looked like the two were done he walked back into her space and smiled as he walked over and stroked her hair back placing a kiss to her forehead.
“How are you doing darling?” Gently he sat on the side of her bed as he looked over her face. She really looked so beautiful even in here. With a smile he brought his hand up with the teddy bear and placed it on her tummy so it was looking up at her. “Hi Leila, I’m Beary and I want you to get better really soon.” His smile grows wider as he walks the bear up her body and snuggles it against her neck. “That makes two of us Beary, she needs to get better for us.” Making sure that there’s nothing in the way he cuddles up on the bed next to her. “Go ahead and go back to sleep, I can see that you need to.” His hand gingerly strokes her brow as he watching over her.

She was actually able to get done some “real” food. Or as real as they could get her this time of night. Just a sandwich, some graham crackers, peanut butter and orange juice. It felt good to have something substantial in her stomach. Once she felt a little better her and her mother chatted about some things. Like Nick being home which Leila loved and how excited she was about starting college up in January. Her mother had reservations where she had been sick nearly two months straight. Her mother was afraid something else was wrong. She pushed her empty tray aside as she sighed, trying to get her mother’s somewhere else. Sometimes, with her condition, the tissue could travel through her body and create tumors. Apparently that’s where her mother’s mind was at this present moment. Leila didn’t think so but she was the “little girl” in the family so she could see why she thought that.
When she heard Daniel coming back she asked her mother to keep quiet about her condition for now. They went back to talking about which classes she was excited about while she started to feel tired. Apparently whatever they had given her made her a little exhausted. When Daniel’s lips pressed against her forehead she smiled groggily. ”Better. I was able to eat something.” She rotated so she laid flat on her back to look up at him. A stifled giggle left her lips as a heavy hand reached up to grab at the bear as he moved it near her face. ”Cute. Very original name by the way. Unique. I bet no other bears have it.” As her lids grew heavy Daniel came up in the bed beside her, she curled into him. A nap would be good. At least she had two people she trusted the most around her.
Leila wasn’t sure how long she was out for. She had slept a lot more soundly then she had in awhile. When she was roused from her slumber she groaned against the solid form of Daniel before she looked up at Doctor Matthews. ”That’s good. So it was just dehydration?” When he mentioned there was something he wanted to show them what was going on she just shrugged it off. She was too exhausted to really care too much nor think about it. He asked her to lift her shirt which she did and tried not to fall asleep while he went over her abdomen. There were weird fluid like noises and a rapid ‘thumpthumpthump’ which was about twice as fast as a normal heartbeat. ”What is that?” When Cameron replied Leila’s eyes snapped open and she looked at the screen. Her mother was actually crying while a huge grin formed on her face. That was a baby. A baby! While Leila should be excited, especially considering her condition, she was far from it right now.
”Whoa that is not possible. I was told I couldn’t have kids naturally. That’s why I went through this year of hell with the hormones and stupid procedures. Is the baby even ok?” Leila lifted her head and shoulders off the bed as she looked at the screen. Nope, she wasn’t dreaming. This was not what she expected. In all her panic she didn’t even realize she just about spilled everything to Daniel. Well, he might as well know now. She couldn’t even look at him she was so conflicted. Panic filled her whole body which her mother seemed to notice because she was by Leila’s feet. Her mother’s hands rubbed at Leila’s ankles in an attempt to soothe her. ”This can’t be happening…”

He looked into her eyes when she told him that she had finally been able to eat something. His hand moved up as he stroked her cheek softly and smiled looking into her eyes. “I told you that you needed to eat something even if you were going to puke it up.” Sticking her tongue out playfully he then placed another kiss to her forehead. Bringing out the teddy bear he smiled as he watched her reaction. “Of course no other bear has that name! But you can rename him if you want to.” It was hers now so she could change the name if she wished to.
Watching her as the exhaustion took her into a slumber he smiled. She looked so pure and innocent just lying there sleeping cuddling into his side. His arm moved around her as he stroked his fingers through her hair. “Just sleep babe, I’ll be here to protect you and when you wake up I’ll be here.” When her breathing evened out he smiled and relaxed next to her in bed. His hand in hers lacing their fingers together; she wasn’t going to go anywhere without him. Slowly his eyelids closed as he drifted off as he laid right next to her.
It wasn’t long before his senses picked someone walking into the room. Eyes opened with a start to see the doctor walking in. Part of him wanted to tell him to get out so Leila could sleep. Knowing it was probably important he let the doctor do his work and woke her up. “So she’s perfectly fine then?” That was the best news he had in a while! He held her closer to him and then tilted his head when the doctor continued. They wanted to show them something? What in the hell? He watched intently as the doctor worked and the thumpthumpthump filled his ears.
“What is that?” His own words echoing Leila’s as he spoke. He wanted to know what it was so badly! When the words baby hit his ears his jaw dropped open and his eyes looked to Leila. She was pregnant? What? How? When? “What? You’re joking” When he saw it on the screen he almost fainted from shock. They were going to have a baby.
Leila speaking up in her outburst shocked the hell out of him. What in the name of god was she talking about? She wasn’t able to have babies? His eyes stayed on her as he waited for her to explain. What had she been talking about? Hormone and procedures? His eyes widened as he looked over her, his hands coming up to rub her back. “What are you talking about, Leila? Not able to have kids? Treatments?” Whatever it was she had never told him about any of this at all. Now he wanted to know if she was going to be okay or not.

”Nope, not kidding. If I figured it out correctly you're due July 12th or 13th. That puts October as time of conception?" Well this did not go as planned. Apparently him trying to make this as cheerful as possible since they were stuck here on Christmas Eve didn’t really go as planned. The patient was freaking out, the mother was ecstatic and he really couldn’t read the boyfriend’s face. Cameron pulled the wand away from Leila’s stomach and used a towel to gentle wipe too goop off. The machine printed off a few images captured from the brief time on the machine. His hand set them aside after he pushed the tray of food to the corner of her over bed table. With the ultrasound machine out of the way, he pulled his rolling stool to the side of the bed but about halfway down so he could look upwards at her. He was only focused on Leila Scott right now. She was the patient.
”Leila I read your file after I talked to your mother. They said the chances of you being able to have a baby were nearly impossible. The doctors were talking about if you waited two or three or even more years. Right now is actually the perfect time for you to have a baby. They cauterized all the scar tissue before it progressed to the next stage.” He paused as he looked over at Daniel. ”If I were to take a shot in the dark you two weren’t together last winter when you started these treatments, correct? Because then those treatments were still a good idea since as you just said you didn’t think you could. It‘s still good to have those options if you want even more later on.” Cameron took in a sharp breath of air as he rubbed his hands on his knees. ”I’m not an OB so I can’t tell you if there is anything genetically wrong but-” he reached for the strip of six images and pointed to the third one down. ”Look. There’s nothing visibly wrong here. As far as I can tell your baby is perfectly fine.” He could still see the panic in her eyes plus the boyfriend seemed to be waiting for an answer to his questions.
As he stood he set the image son Leila’s lap before he turned to her mother. ”Mrs. Scott can I interest you in something to eat? One of our nurses made this amazing divinity fudge. So light and fluffy, though kind of sweet. Milk goes great with it.” He put an arm around the older Scott’s shoulder to usher her out of the room. When out he used his hand to slide the glass doors shut. As long as nothing got broken he was fine with them being alone to talk. Which seemed to be needed.

Because right now was really the time to be pointing out that she should’ve been eating this whole time. She knew that-she wasn’t an idiot-but he didn’t feel as sick as she had been the last few weeks. Her stomach actually hurt form throwing up so often and the back of her throat burned. ”Yes my mom already pointed it out.” He was supposed to be on her side, not scolding her like everyone else did. Good thing he was cute and goofy because she was able to forgive him easily. ”No it’s cute. I‘ll add him to my collection/” While Daniel may have no issues showing he cared about her around her mother she still got uncomfortable about it at times. Mainly because her mother liked to tease her about how sweet he was with her. Almost as much as Leila hated PDA she hated when people teased her about it. Well, she didn’t hate PDA just she felt very weird about it.
She didn’t even hear the last thing he said though she was aware of their hands being loosely laced together as she fell asleep. Leila was sleeping so well she hadn’t even realized that he had fallen asleep next to her-which her mother took as a photo opportunity with her phone. Hopefully the fluids helped her so she could keep herself feeling better while she was home. Especially because she doubted these medications would be available while at home. When Doctor Matthews woke her up she had intended to ask him about something to help with her stomach but that was far from her mind quickly. Oh so far.
Leila was actually numb. It wasn’t that she didn’t want this baby just she was that in shock. After her little explosion of emotions she just sat straight up. Unknowingly her left arm went so her left hand rested on her stomach. She thought she was just bloated or that she put on some weight because of the holidays. Leila usually put on a couple pounds around this time of year then worked it all off before spring came around. Her hand flattened out against her abdomen. No, now that she took the time to feel her stomach down near the lower half felt a little...stiff? Yes that was the best way to describe it. She could still push inwards but not nearly as far as she did before.
She didn’t look at anyone. Not her mother when she said this was amazing and that Leila didn’t have to worry about anything. Not Daniel inquiring about her treatments. Not even the doctor as he prattled on about her medical files. Yes, she knew her own medical files. It’s not like she expected to get pregnant at nineteen with a guy she had barely been with half a year. They weren’t even engaged and only talked about that once of twice. They hadn’t even gotten into the discussion of kids yet! And here they were having a kid well before anything else. When Cameron brought the ultrasound photos in her line of sight she looked over it. Tears slid down her face as she prayed none of her “bad” eggs were released. Yes, Leila wanted this baby badly now that she was rarely looking at this image and prayed that her stupidity wouldn’t cause the baby suffering later in life.
Leila winced as the doctor ushered her mother out of the room. Only then did she notice Daniel had been rubbing at her back. Her right hand came up to cover her mouth as she looked over the strip of images. She was seriously screwed now. Daniel hadn’t reacted if he was happy or scared about this baby. She probably would end up delaying school so she could work to afford things. Who knew if she’d ever get to go back? It would all be worth it-oh so worth it-but she had mentally prepared herself over nearly two years that it wouldn’t be this easy to get pregnant. She’d need hormone shots, in-vitro and a high risk pregnancy because of it being in-vitro. Not...something so simple or easy. Leila had gone to therapy and coped with it. Until stupid Daniel came home.
Leila was calm as she breathed in. Well, it was now or never. ”I have something called endometriosis only mine is fairly advanced for my age. Probably because my mom had a somewhat complicated pregnancy with me and it messed up my hormone levels.” She shook her head before she continued. All the theories as to why it was advanced were so crazy but plausible just he didn’t need to know what it was. ”Basically cells leave my uterus and cause scarring in my body. Mainly my intestines and my ovaries. They said the ones on my ovaries were dangerous and that if I wanted to have kids in the future I’d need to do IVF. So my parents paid to have my eggs harvested so I had that option in the future.” Leila still didn’t look at him. She just couldn’t. ”Remember before the fair when I had been sick? Well I was in the hospital. My condition causes me so much pain that sometimes I need a morphine drip. That and they have to make sure I don’t hemorrhage. I planned to tell you all of this after the holidays had calmed down. We‘ve been so busy with Christmas coming up plus your family‘s charity thing that it didn‘t seem good to add more stress.”
It was like Leila had suddenly just snapped out of her numb state. She was pregnant. She was really pregnant. And Daniel had gotten her pregnant. Quickly she moved her body so she was upright on the bed, her knees supporting her. ”You idiot! You got me pregnant!” Her face wasn’t really angry nor happy nor amused. No it was scrunched up as she open palm slapped the back of his head and shoulders with both her hands. ”You are never allowed to get me drunk again you asshole! Never ever again!” The one and only time she had gotten drunk-which is what had to have messed up her birth control-was Halloween. When she finally calmed down she fell back so she was sitting upright but her legs folded underneath her. Ok, maybe Leila wasn’t done. She sent another slap to the back of his head once he thought she was done. Her lower lip jutted out slightly with her attitude. Her eyes were a mixed of fear, joy and frustration.
When she had settled down she reached behind her for the images to make sure she hadn’t ruined them in her second outburst of the night. With a sigh she looked over each image slowly. Her voice was barely a whisper as she spoke next. ”You can leave if you want. I’ll understand.” No, Leila didn’t mean just leave the hospital. She meant she would understand if he didn’t want this-a family-this soon. There was plenty of people to help her out and he could still see his kid but for some guys this was too much. Sure her heart would break but she didn’t want him to feel obliged to stay just because she was pregnant.

Giving her hand a squeeze he looked into her eyes and nodded. “I know she did.” Leaning in he placed a kiss to her cheek and whispered. “I’m on your side, just trying to make your mom think I’m on hers.” Brownie points with her mother worked well. She was already on his side and he wanted to keep her that way. She seemed to be one of the few who was excited that they were together. When she told him Berry would be added to the collection the smile on his face grew wider. “I guess this means I can get you more stuffed animals.” It was amazing to go into her room and see all the stuffed animals that she had in her collection.
The sleep he had fallen into was dreamless and it was good it was that way. It would not be a good idea to possibly have a bad dream while he was in the hospital bed with her. Something could happen and that would have been bad.
When he woke up and the doctor was there he couldn’t help but wonder what was going on. Then the news about a baby and Leila freaking out. What in the hell was going on? The poor guy was stunned to find out they were going to have a baby? When did this happen? They had been really careful! It was impossible. Unless something happened that they didn’t know about? Even if his failed she was on birth control!
As the doctor started going over things that he didn’t know he paid very close attention. What was this about Leila not being able to get pregnant? That was what he was wondering? When the pictures were on her lap he looked them over as the doctor led her mother out of the room so they could talk. Oh crap! What in the hell? They were going to have a baby! YES!!!!
His eyes turned to Leila as she started explaining what was going on with her. He listened very intently and his eyes widened. Screw not being able to have a baby! He didn’t care about that right now. He took her hand in his and looked into her eyes. “As long as…you’re….it’s not going to kill you is it?” Hell no! He cared about her life over the possibility of them not having kids. She was the most important thing to him. When she talked about when she was in the hospital he nodded remembering that time very clearly in his mind. “Yeah, I remember when you were. I was so worried.”
When she started hitting him he laughed and tried to cover his head from her assault. A small smile on his lips as he finally was in the clear. When she sent the last slap his way he winced and grinned. Reaching over he pulled her onto his lap and smiled as he looked into her eyes noticing the mixed emotions. “It seems like it was good for you though. I mean we’re having a baby even after they told you no.” Leaning up he placed a small kiss to her lips.
What she said next shook him to his core. She thought he wanted to leave her? Shaking his head he looked up into her eyes. “Get that thought out of your head. We’ve fought so hard to be together that nothing is going to tear us apart now. To be honest I’m happy it’s you with my kid and not some strange woman. You’re the most important person in my life and I love you. So if you think you can get rid of me that easy you’re wrong.” Leaning in he kissed her once more. A strong loving kiss as he pulled her back onto him and just held her tightly.
