I could use somebody, I've been roaming around always looking down at all I see. Painted faces, fill the places I can't reach. You know that I could use somebody. Someone like you, and all you know and how you speak. Countless lovers under cover of the street. Landon tried to shrug it off. It was bound to come up eventually. After all him finding his birth mother was huge! What was he supposed to do-keep it from Jesse? They were dating and he was trying this whole open policy. Apparently in this case it hadn’t worked so well. As Kitty pointed out he still had plenty of time to figure it out to which he exhaled a large breath of air. ”I know we do. I probably won’t even decide until closer to graduation. I was just voicing my thoughts aloud and I guess it all came off wrong or something.” He tried to shake off the thoughts. Landon had come to the Tree Lighting to try to clear his head, not make things worse.
When she mentioned skipping school his mood went right back to terrible. He pulled his hands out of his pockets and turned the upwards to her. His body leaned forward while a displeased look came over his face. ”Catalina Rose Garcia! Are you kidding me! How many times do I have to tell you, you need to be keeping that ass of your’s in school! Not that arcade. Do I have to start driving you?” Honestly he knew her mom let Kitty have a lot of freedom but this was ridiculous. Didn’t her mother ever get on her daughters case about these things? Landon knew they acted like siblings but he shouldn’t have to chew her out just because no one else was holding her accountable.
He opened his mouth to say something out when suddenly every light in the town went on. No, seriously every single light. The buildings, the tree and even the street lamps went out. The only he could tell that had power still was the hospital but they had a generator. And he could only tell that because it went out and then a minute later there was a flash on the side of town that it was located on. ”What the Hell…” Landon trailed out. He went on his tiptoes to see what was going on. Someone behind him started pushing them forward so Landon reached for Kitty so they didn’t get separated. ”Kitty is this part of the event?”
A few minutes later the lights came back on and he heard a blood curdling scream. Actually several of them. He winced and covered his ears as his face screwed up. With the way this crowd was moving forward he didn’t think he would be able to see. ”Kitty skate a path for us,” he chuckled nervously. They had to get out somehow.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, background-color:#f4f4f4; width:400px; padding:8px; border: 8px solid #9b6464;] she‘s had all she can take SOMETHING’S GOTTA MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE. I DON‘T KNOW WHERE IT IS BUT SOMETHING‘S GOTTA GIVE
Natalie was still very naïve about a lot of things. Like how she may or may not be effecting Jackson right now. Sure, Isabella had told her she looked fantastic in these outfits but that didn’t mean much. Now when a guy said it, it was completely different. Or showed it. Just this was her first night going this far with her new look. The past few days at school she had been a bit bolder with her make-up in that she no longer wore just mascara. That wasn’t enough to make everyone notice. Sure maybe a few people but not as much as a bold colored, figure flattering dress like she wore now. She sent him a pointed glance at his response to her telling him he wouldn’t find out how much she had changed. Oh no-Natalie would not give it up that easily. A new look and a new attitude didn’t change everything after all.
Natalie shook her head. Yes she realized how stupid her comment was before but she was new to this. ”You know what I meant.” Geez! Apparently she’d have to be literal until she got the hang of this flirting game. Though she wasn’t doing too bad she figured. After all she did have him hanging when she acted like she was going to kiss him on the lips. It hadn’t gone unnoticed when he moved forward ever so slightly. She had to suppress a giggle until after she was done. That was...fun. Teasing him like that. She could tell he had expected her to actually give in. Maybe she could have a lot more fun then originally thought with this new side of her. Now she just needed to learn how to get better at this whole flirting and teasing game.
Once Natalie got over the initial burn of the drink it went down easier. No not super smooth or easy just easier. Her head nodded in Jackson’s direction. ”Never had anything straight before.” Her gaze went over in the general direction of where her father was as he answered her question. ”Well lucky for me. At least I know you won’t tell my father about our little encounter.” While she was far from drunk or even a buzz she did get a calm and warm feeling over her body. She felt much easier about being here now. Natalie listened to the carolers before someone started to give a speech but she didn’t really care. After her pretty awful autumn/winter season she wasn’t really feeling the “Christmas spirit”. Anyone who acted like this season was no different then any other was just fooling themselves. Then again, they hadn’t gone through what she had.
Then the lights went out.
Natalie jumped so high and fast she could’ve leapt out of her skin. A squeal left her lips as her body moved. Her nerves suddenly went full force so much so that she didn’t even realize she ended up half in Jackson’s lap. Seeing as her hands were covering her face she didn’t really notice either. Natalie tried to talk herself down from it by repeating ”I’m safe,” over and over again. That’s all that would be able to work for the time being until the lights came back on...

Post by JACKSON XAVIER FORD on Feb 13, 2013 16:29:41 GMT -5
since their initial meeting at the leap, jackson hadn't approached natalie when he'd seen her around school. he'd done plenty of watching, though, and listening. he asked pretty much everyone he came in contact with about her, finding out anything he could. which wasn't much. sure, people had a lot to say, but ninety percent of it sounded made up. jackson figured that was because no one really knew much about her, except for the fact that she was different, and they didn't like that. for him, though, that was the best part. her oddity attracted him, peaking his curiosity more than he'd ever thought possible. jackson wanted this girl; and bad. he merely grinned when she gave a somewhat challenging glance that said 'it's not going to be that easy'. what natalie didn't understand, however, was the fact he didn't want it to be too easy. what was the fun in that?
jackson laughed, knowing he'd got her on that one. but she'd won the war with the kissing trick. he should have known. it also annoyed him slightly that she laughed afterwards, completely aware that he'd been falling for it. jackson crossed his arms, also irritated because she had had so much fun in doing that to him. well, he'd just have to be more specific next time. and there definitely would be a next time. even though it had only been on the cheek, jackson couldn't believe how soft her lips were. he'd kissed other girls before, of course, mostly on the lips, but hers were the exception. it made him impatient for when he'd actually get a real kiss from her. "so did you," was his reply. yes, natalie had known exactly what he meant by 'a kiss'; she may have been naive, but she wasn't stupid. jackson tried to suppress his irritation, not wanting her to know that he was.
he smiled in amusement. "no.. really?" jackson teased, acting as if that was a surprise to him. it was obvious for two reasons. the daughter of a pastor didn't usually drink, and her reaction would tell anyone she'd never had it before. jackson followed her gaze, realizing she was looking to where her father was. "i'm not sure it is lucky for you.." he replied, winking at her, that cocky look on his face again. "and what makes you think that?" jackson asked, an eyebrow arched. yes, he'd let her have a drink, but he could always say she took it from him. which was, in fact, true. "i know you're not feelin to great about daddy right now, but why aren't you with them?" he asked, motioning to the carolers. he figured her dad watched over her like a hawk at events like these. but then, maybe he really trusted her, which was an obvious mistake.
jackson glanced to the side when someone started giving a speech. it had caught his attention briefly, but after listening for a minute it sounded pretty boring. he didn't even know who was giving it, or care, for that matter. he jumped when the lights went out, getting startled again when natalie did the same, then let out a squeal. yeah, it had startled him to, but it was just a power outage, right? it took jackson a second to realize that she was practically in his lap, which wasn't a bad place to be. he didn't have the chance to be happy about it, though, because all she kept repeating was 'i'm safe'. he realizing she'd been much for traumatized by the happenings at the fair than he'd originally thought. jackson placed his hands on hers, moving them away from her face with surprisingly little resistance. before she had a chance to protest, he kissed her right on the lips, wanting it to last quite a while, but he wasn't going to have his way.
jackson broke it off as the lights turned back on and people started screaming. what the heck had happened? he stood up, feeling his heart start racing as he watched from a distance what was going on. it wasn't so far away, though, that he couldn't clearly see the dummy, and the picture on it. jackson couldn't make out who it was, but he had a pretty good guess as to the victim. as people continued to panic, he found that he couldn't calm himself down. he turned his back to the crowd, clenching his fists and he forced himself to take deep breaths. to anyone watching, it probably seemed like jackson had asthma. far from it, but sometimes it felt like that's what it was.
he could tell he was going to have a seizure. there was no mistaking that feeling that he got right before it happened. first, jackson would start feeling nauseated, like he was going to be sick, then he'd feel weak all over, barely able to stand. when he collapsed, the convulsing would soon start. after that, everything would go black. jackson gripped his stomach, the nausea starting already. he knew he had to be worrying natalie, especially since she was already freaked out. he turned back to her, grimacing, a hand still on his stomach. "listen.. no matter what happens, do not call an ambulance, ok?" jackson told her, breathlessly. he paused, doubling over as he groaned. "i-i'll be fine. it'll p-pass and i'll be fine." he knew the second stage would hit him soon, and he wanted to get out of there before that happened. "i n-need your help, natalie," jackson got out. he needed her support, knowing if he tried to walk by himself he'd be on his knees after just a few steps.

Kitty couldn't help it, she whined and pouted as the conversation suddenly turned to yelling at her. It wasn't her fault school sucked. It was boring and tiresome and she was getting no where in life because of it. She had a job already, why did she have to go to school? She was doing her dream job, wasn't that what you were preparing for in school? Besides, the pocket full of quarters she had been saving had called to her. During the day there were less kids to take the good games...
"Landon! I don't need to be driven... I was having a bad day and I just wanted to go have some fun... my life sucks you know, I deserve a day off once in awhile... all I do is school and then I go to the shop..." She knew he had a point, somewhere deep down in her gut but she didn't want to acknowledge it.
Then shit hit the fan. A scream escaped her as the lights went out. It was just sudden and scary... it had startled her. She covered her mouth and held onto his hand tight, not ever wanting to let go.
When the lights came back on, she cursed her shortness, not sure what the big deal was that everyone was screaming about. She whined and stood near him, stepping back on her board and pulling him along as she tried to escape the crowd. She was a little curious about what it was that was freaking everyone out but her main concern was getting to the edge of the crowd. She was, after all, tiny and didn't need to be crushed as everyone runs away.

Natalie wasn’t good at reading most cues so she had no idea how frustrated she made Jackson by not giving into the kiss he wanted. Sure she could tell that he was a bit off once she pulled away but that was it. She figured it was just another conquest thing for him. After all, he had been with a good chuck of the girls from school. The preacher’s daughter would be a good thing to check off but she wouldn’t give in so easily. A shoulder went up in a casual shrug. ”Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t. you know I’m not very experienced in these things.” Her eyes twinkled with humor. Yes, what little she had observed from others so far was paying off. If she kept up at this pace perhaps she could find her way on the list of sought after girls in the school. Not that she thought but a general thing.
She shifted around so her legs were straight in front of her, one crossed over the other. The ground was cold beneath her bare legs. Good thing there had been little snow so far this winter because her bottom would be soaked. For now she felt the prickles of the chill as it seeped into her legs. An irritated look was sent his way when he teased her about not having drank anything straight up before. ”Oh? How do you suppose it isn’t lucky for me? I’m branching out and trying new things. Seems like a win.” A hand went up to push back some hair and fiddle with her bun. Natalie moved her tongue against the back of her teeth as she felt the kick of the whiskey lingering slightly. She already wanted some more but wouldn’t push her luck. ”Because he wouldn’t believe you over me anyways.” No, Natalie was never really one for lying especially to her father but things were slowly starting to change. She was finding her own path that her father didn’t help her decide. With a sigh she looked at the carolers once more before she looked back at Jackson. ”They all look at me like I’m a nut case. And if they don’t look at me that way then they just want to know more about that night. I’m not exactly up for sharing every little detail. What people know is what they know.” Which was just she was taken, left on a boat to die, someone saved her and then Peyton Malone found her. That was it. Everything else only the police knew.
Whenever Natalie had her little attacks she didn’t really think as her body and mind reacted how it wanted. It usually took a couple minutes to come down from it before she realized everything really going on. She really didn’t get that far this time. No, this time Jackson interrupted her wind down mode. Her body was shaking so much she didn’t really fight back. Plus, her reaction was usually to flee when someone touched her which she did attempt to do. Jackson’s hands were still on hers making it a little impossible to move even as his face drew close to hers. There was an intake of air before his lips met hers. Natalie knew she should push him away but she didn’t. being inexperienced she tried to match his movements but it was awkward. This was her first kiss. She thought it’d be more...special. Oh well. Not everyone got their wish.
When they broke apart and she noticed the lights were back on she rolled her lips inwards then released them. She looked around before she pushed herself off of him. ”I’m sorry.” Natalie began to straight herself out. Her dress had ridded up slightly from the sudden movements so she tugged at it gently. After she smoothed out her coat and generally avoided Jackson’s gaze. No, he wasn’t a bad kisser at all from what she could tell. Then again, she hadn’t kissed any other guy before. As she rubbed her lips together to even out what lip gloss was left on it she gazed at the panic going on. People were pushing to get away from the town square whole town officials and police tried to calm them down. Something hung from the gazebo and at first she thought it was a body which made a squeak leave her throat. Then when she focused and saw it was just a dummy she let out a sigh of relief. Still, Natalie needed to get out of her. She was preparing herself to leave when Jackson spoke up.
”Jackson.…” He didn’t look good at all. In fact he looked slightly pale and like he might be jittery. Did he do something worse then alcohol and weed? When he doubled over she dropped back down to her knees. ” What do you mean ‘it’ll pass’?” Natalie was very much confused. The normally tough guy seemed like he was going to toss his cookies everywhere. Really, he didn’t look well at all. She glanced around to see if there was anyone nearby who could help but everyone was too far away. When he asked for her help she honestly didn’t know what to do. Finally she let out an exasperated sigh before she slipped an around his back. ”Put your other one around my neck.“ Though she was fairly petite she could hold her own. Natalie allowed him to lean on her as she brought them both up to their feet. If anything people would just think he was just drunk. As they moved just passed the trees she looked around. To the right of them was pretty much the entire town gathered. To the left was...cars. Yes, everyone’s cars where she directed them too. ”Please tell me your car is close…” If not she could always throw him in the backseat of her dad’s car. She did have a set of the keys in her pocket.

Post by JACKSON XAVIER FORD on Feb 14, 2013 20:42:20 GMT -5
jackson pulled a cigarette out and lit it. it was more habit than anything. he took a drag off it, titling his head back to blow the smoke in the air, knowing natalie didn't appreciate having smoke blown in her face. people who weren't used to it had issues, which was understandable. jackson wasn't really sure why he wanted natalie so bad, he just knew that she did. maybe it was the fact that she was so innocent and naive. plus, something about being her first was appealing to him as well. he gave a snort of laughter, rolling his eyes. "yeah, but you're not stupid," jackson replied, placing the cigarette back in his mouth and inhaling. he probably wouldn't smoke for long, but it helped relax him when he did.
he glanced down at her legs as she adjusted them, admiring their shape. jackson let his eyes linger there for a few moments, switching them back to her face when she started speaking to him again. "well, when you put it that way, it does sound like a win.. except, now you get stuck with me," he replied, explaining what he'd meant by the comment. jackson shrugged, taking one last puff off his cigarette before putting it out in the little patch of snow that was near him. "i dunno.. i can be pretty convincing," he said, more joking than anything else. truth was, he would believe natalie over someone else any day. jackson opened his flask again, taking another sip as he listened to her response. "maybe you are," he said, with a short laugh. ok, that probably didn't help anything, and might even upset her somewhat. "why don't you just tell them and get it over with?" jackson asked, becoming more serious.
jackson enjoyed the kiss, however short it was. her lips were soft, as he'd thought they'd be, maybe even a bit softer. he could tell she was inexperienced, but it wasn't a bad kiss despite that. once natalie got some practice with it, he had no doubt she'd be epic. there was a lot of potential, anyway. jackson knew that normally she'd have resisted him, maybe even give him a slap, but she had been in too much of a shock. his timing had been perfect, getting a kiss in while he could. he heard her apology, smiling briefly and shaking his head. "no need for that." since jackson had enjoyed it quite a bit.
he tried to smile as he heard natalie say his name in a worried tone. jackson didn't want her to overreact or something. these had happened to him more times than he could count, and though it wasn't an enjoyable experience, he wasn't panicked. this was life. he was sure he looked horrible, though. his mom always said he did when this happened. jackson shook his head, having a hard time even speaking at this point. "exactly.. what i said." no, he didn't feel like explaining himself just then. he obeyed her direction, trying not to lean on her too much, since, frankly, she wasn't very big. jackson was over six feet and she was a lot shorter than that. he knew he wouldn't be able to help her out for long, though. he moaned again as they both stood. he was really trying not to, since he hated anyone to see him like this, but he honestly couldn't help it.
"you know, this is kinda nice," jackson joked, trying to make light of it a little, though he wasn't able to stop another groan from coming out as another wave of nausea hit him hard. he knew it wouldn't belong before he couldn't stand, even with natalie's help, since he was heavy enough to take them both down, probably. he shook his head as she spoke. "i walked." he opened his eyes, glancing around for a good spot for her to set him down. "just put me down.. over there," jackson instructed, pointing to a place that was the opposite direction of the cars. obviously she wasn't going to get him home in time, so it was better this way. the nausea was lessening, which meant he would collapse soon, as they reached the spot. jackson laid down on his back, panting. "you need.. to leave, natalie," he told her, knowing he didn't have long. "just go, please.." he wasn't the type to say 'please' normally, but he was pretty desperate at this point. of course, it was a little late to keep his secret from her.
jackson lost consciousness as the seizure finally reached it's final stage. his eyes rolled back in his head as his body convulsed violently. this was the part where he always blacked out, so he never knew just how frightening it could be to watch.

Natalie found Jackson puzzling. Last time he couldn’t stop bugging her until she eventually ignored him entirely and he walked away. Now he couldn’t care less. Not that she was eager to jump right in the sack or something but she couldn’t figure him out. Maybe it’s because she approached him, he figured he had won. In a sense he had because she sought him out but Natalie wasn’t like most girls that he usually hung around after all. ”Being stuck with you isn’t so bad. That’s also beneficial to me. You‘re the opposite of me and I‘m trying to actually live my life. Might as well learn from someone who doesn‘t have a care in the world.”
Natalie watched his little moves including when he put out his cigarette. No that was one thing she still wasn’t eager to try. ”See but I also think you won’t tell him because I’m a mystery to you. Church girl who rebuffed your advances and who all of a sudden has done a complete one-eighty. No, you wouldn’t tell him because you know that’d be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.” Natalie actually had no clue if she interested him or not. That was a complete shock in the dark. A soft chuckle left her lips but she didn’t smile with it. ”Maybe.” As it moved back onto the topic of her telling people Natalie’s back stiffened while her right hand rubbed along the hip on the same side. Her hands were tracing where her scar was. ”Because no one here would understand. Sure they’d feel more sympathetic but they don’t understand that something like that...it changes you. To tell people in town it would be like relieving it because unless I tell every single person myself the story would get misconstrued. No, I’d rather have me, my father and the cops know the truth and that be it.” Natalie knew how rumors in a small town worked and she wouldn’t deal with that.
Natalie tried to get passed the kiss but obviously it was stuck in her mind this moment. Her cheeks flushed as she scratched the back of her neck. ”No I mean for my little...freak out.” She attempted humor with a smile. ”See? Maybe I am a bit nutty.” Humor was always a good way to deflect things. Though that wouldn’t work for what Jackson was asking of her as far as she could tell. With him leaning against her, her hand grasped his. It was probably unnecessary but she wasn’t sure what was going on and just wanted to be know she could catch him if he started to fall away from her or something. While she couldn’t find humor in this situation he did. A breath of air that seemed like a tense laugh left her lips. ”Well you can reminisce about how you passed first base and ended up on second bases when you’re alone.”
When he pointed to where they should go Natalie just nodded. Thankfully everyone was headed into the square to figure out what was going on. They could have a private moment while whatever this was passed. As she set him down she moved to sit on her knees, not really caring about making sure she looked fine. As he laid down and aksed her to leave she shook her head. ”No I’m not going to leave you alone on the side of the street while you look like this. I’m staying and that’s final.” Natalie could be quite forceful when needed. Forgetting about the chill she slipped her coat off, not really knowing what else to do, and slipped it under his head. Good thing she had because when his body started to seize he could’ve cracked his head open. Panic set in and she wanted to call an ambulance but she had promised him she wouldn’t. So Jackson Ford had a secret as well. Well, it seemed like they were both damaged toys in some sense. Despite being tense and wanting to cry for him, Natalie just sat there and watched for anyone coming.
