[/color] Jude milled around the tree as he rubbed at his chin. He hated town events like this. Normally he could be down in the crowd but since Sydni was leading the events today, he was up here with her. She was busy at the moment so he was just looking at the light bound tree. All evening people had been writing on little papers their wishes, their desires or just generally what they wanted for Christmas in the sense of the kids. There were clear ornaments that the papers were placed in and then hung on the tree. Jude’s father was on one ladder while the mayor was on another, making sure the ornaments were distributed throughout the whole tree.
Jude was avoiding his father even more then normal. Even since the night of the Founder’s Fair, he had been disgusted. Obviously this secret Jude was supposed to keep was as hidden as everyone thought. That and an innocent girl was put in danger. A girl who walked around this town scared out of her mind. The only reason Jude noticed it is because their families were close. He saw Natalie with her father around town. She was always looking behind her and was tense. Seeing her at night? Well that was nearly unheard of now. If she did she never left her father’s side. Mostly she remained locked up in their house. Yes, Jude was disgusted with his father. He was still trying to keep everything hidden. What was the point? There was someone who knew all about what had happened. They could expose everything that had happened. To him it was better to get ahead of things and fix things themselves. Sure, some careers may be ruined but if the town knew the truth-that they did it to protect everyone-well, things may be different. They may forgive everyone.
Jude moved a small distance from the tree and leaned against a pole, watching the crowd. Kids were so excited to be up past their bedtimes. Parents held them close, remembering everything that had happened just a couple, short months ago. Lovers held one another close, sneaking passionate kisses when they thought no one was looking. And one couple…one couple seemed on the verge of ending. He squinted as he leaned forward, recognizing who it was. With a sigh, he figured he should tell Sydni since the girl was a friend of hers. All the dating drama in this town lately was a bit ridiculous. Jude was a simple man with simple thoughts-treat your girl right, don’t hide things and communicate. Apparently those values were no longer important to people.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, background-color:#f4f4f4; width:400px; padding:8px; border: 8px solid #9b6464;] she‘s had all she can take SOMETHING’S GOTTA MAKE ME FEEL ALIVE. I DON‘T KNOW WHERE IT IS BUT SOMETHING‘S GOTTA GIVE
Natalie hated her father right now. For her to say that then she had to really mean it. She hadn’t wanted to come to the Tree Lighting Ceremony because it was too much for her. Being out at night was still difficult. Especially since he had to lead the churches choir in singing some carols. Natalie hadn’t sung in the choir since everything had happened. Oh, she had tried but she froze up and no sound came out. She tried so hard and her father did everything he could to push her to no avail. The last couple weeks they had been fighting-a lot. He thought it was time she got back to normal. You know, do all her volunteering, singing, piano as well as get through school without a panic attack. She said it wasn’t that easy after everything she had been through. He said he knew but really she didn’t think he did.
Actually, he started to act this way after he came to her therapy session. Natalie had recounted that entire night out to him from the moment she set foot into the church until she woke up in the hospital. Every detail from the feeling of the people carrying her away to the sting of the slap to every word they spoke. Yes, everything including how they said he was a murderer. Her father had gotten tense about that for a moment but said he probably had to do with her mother’s death. After all, her father had pulled little Natalie out first. Natalie got a feeling that wasn’t it as her mother was barely alive after that car had hit them. Nothing anyone could have down would have helped. After that his whole demeanor changed. Her father was on edge and thought Natalie should “try harder” to move past things. This was ridiculous to her.
So Natalie started to rebel. The new clothes her friend Isabella had bought her had remained in their bags at the bottom of her closet. The older woman had taken all the tags off before dropping them off. First Natalie found the outfits and started to switch them with her “prudish” ones. Then she found the make-up and went straight to Isabella’s house demanding make-up lessons. She didn’t have a mother so it’s not like she had any other way to learn. Natalie had been shown various ways to do her make-up and was given tips on the best way to wear her hair. They had done that for so long Natalie ended up crashing there which had been an odd experience as Isabella had flirted. Or, well, Natalie thought she flirted. She could be wrong after all. Anyways, Natalie went home the next day and practiced everything she had learned. Her thought process was if her father wanted her to just “move on” the only way she could do that was to change completely. Sure, many aspects of Natalie would remain the same such as her sweet nature and genuinely kind heart. The aspects that would change is that she would stop being so prude though no one should expect her to jump right into the sack with them. Her virtue was one thing she was still clinging to.
Fast forward nine days. Now Natalie was at the Tree Lighting Ceremony with a body that was shaking like crazy. Still, her father seemed more preoccupied with getting the choir ready. Eventually Natalie gave up and stalked up, trying to find someone she knew. There were some people but no one she wanted to be near. As she moved through the crowd, on the other side of the tree, down a few yards, she saw Jackson Ford. No, they weren’t friends but he would do. He had once been slightly bothersome, bordering on flirtatious. Or his own brand of flirtatious. That and he had a flask. He was nestled between a small clump of trees that was in the town square, out of sight from everyone. Natalie kept a quick pace as she moved across the snow covered patch of lawn. Natalie came up besides up and smiled, sort of winging it as she was never the first to approach a guy like Jackson, let alone ask him what she was about to. ”Hey.” Her lips puckered up in uncertainty. ”Ok so I know we’re not friends but tonight is not exactly easy for me after everything that happened at the fair. Do you mind sharing?” She eyes stared pointedly at his flask as she gave a solitary nod in his direction. Yes, it was written all over Natalie’s face that she had no idea what she was doing. Not that she cared. She hadn’t been living and now she would start to, especially if her father wanted her to finally “move on.”

I could use somebody, I've been roaming around always looking down at all I see. Painted faces, fill the places I can't reach. You know that I could use somebody. Someone like you, and all you know and how you speak. Countless lovers under cover of the street. Landon was officially in a sour mood. Earlier him and Jesse had a date and that went downhill fairly quickly when he mentioned he had found his birth mother. Of course it had come up in a weird manner as Landon did say that was one place he would consider moving someday. Apparently that had hit a sore mark despite Landon just tossing ideas out. He wasn’t saying he would definitely move there, just it was an idea. Honestly, Landon was confused as to where in the world he would move. His family lived down south, his birth mother was in New York and now he was in a relationship with Jesse who lived up here in Maine. He had a span of hundreds of miles to chose from. That wasn’t exactly an easy decision to make.
Since their date was officially ruined, he had brought her home and left it at that. This was one thing he couldn’t really fix. Their first “real” fight. They both needed to cool down before the approached one another again. Landon had driven around for a little bit before he decided to come to the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Alone. He slammed his car door fairly hard before he stalked off towards the crowd. He tried to put a smile of some sorts on his face as moved through the group. There were kids and people who were generally excited to be here. He didn’t want to be the Grinch who brought people down from that. Landon stood with his hands in his pockets, hoping that the ceremony would start soon. Otherwise he might just get impatient and leave. Right now he had no desire to be here, though, he also had no wishes to be home or anywhere else.

Kitty sighed as her skateboard rolled along the pavement. She hummed softly, hands stuffed into the pockets of her sweatshirt. She blinked and glanced around at the crowd. So many people had gathered, at least more than she thought would. After all, it was pretty cold out. She stopped and kicked up her board, catching it in her hand. Too crowded to ride.
Carrying her board, she glanced around for a familiar face to stand with, weaving in and out between the citizens. She stood up on tiptoe, watching the as the tree was being finished, getting it all dolled up and ready for the ceremony. Christmas, such a lovely time of year. To her and her family, it was simply another day on the calender. Just like birthdays. Kitty had never celebrated the holiday, her mother couldn't afford to recognize it. But ever since she was little, she hated to admit it but she loved the ceremony. This was her Christmas day. She just loved how the tree glowed and hoped maybe it would snow.
Kitty glanced around again, flushing slightly at the rather childish and embarrassing emotions she was feeling. She was distracted from her thoughts as she spotted her brother. Well he wasn't her brother, just a very good friend of hers but in many ways, except in blood, he was her brother. He looked after her like no one else. "Landon!" She called cheerily, moving as fast as she could over to him. "What are you doing here? I thought you had other plans?" Originally she had asked if he wanted to go with her but had refused, saying he had a date. She had been a little disappointed but had understood. "Is everything all right?"

Sydni was nervous. She was beyond nervous – plus her hormones were crazy right now. After making a trip to the hospital the other day and just about scaring the life out of Cameron to give her the answers she wanted without running his mouth off to someone in the town – she had all the proof she needed. Though – the pee stick and lack of menstrual cycle gave her enough proof – the ultrasound and blood test confirmed everything one hundred percent. Still, she didn’t breathe a word to Jude. No, she was honestly too scared to say anything at this point. They’d only been seeing each other since September – so, three months total. Three months in, and she was six and a half weeks pregnant. She wanted to keep her mouth shut until she got far enough along – after what happened a few years back. No, she didn’t want to even get excited yet – let alone think of Jude’s reaction when he found out that though they were only dating for three months, she was six and a half weeks pregnant. Tonight just wasn’t her night. After months of planning, months of late night office stays – finally, her year was coming to a close. The Christmas Tree Lighting was ceremonial – it was one of the most important town events that took place. She breathed, as for the first time in a long time, she felt like all eyes were on her and she couldn’t manage to take a breath. She began to feel herself getting nauseous – so she went to a corner away from people on stage – including Jude – to get her phenergen out of her purse and to down it with a glass of water chasing it. Oh boy, this wasn’t how pregnancy was supposed to be..
Babies were a happy thing. Pregnancy was a happy time. Babies were to bring joy and all of that jazz, but instead, all it was bringing Sydni was heartache. Sydni had been pretty much dead after the incident that occurred a few years back – and that was why she had been so careful. She took her birth control on time, every single day – never missing a dose, but apparently.. birth control wasn’t bullet proof. Nope, not bullet proof at all. And there was still a chance she would miscarry once more – who could really blame Sydni for not being happy?
After she shuffled through her finishing touches, scrambled through her notecards twice more, she felt ready. All they had to do now was wait for starting time – ten minutes to go. Yay. She walked over to where Jude was, went up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. “Hey, good looking.” She smiled, “I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate you being here with me tonight – it really means a lot to me..”

Post by JACKSON XAVIER FORD on Feb 6, 2013 22:25:09 GMT -5
jackson wasn't a big holiday or winter person, but the christmas events hope harbor did weren't half bad. they had the parade with santa claus, sleigh rides and the tree lighting ceremony. the parade held no interest for him, and neither did santa claus, of course. jackson had gone on a few sleigh rides already with different girls; heck, it was a great making out place, and the girls he'd found were more than willing. the driver didn't exactly approve, but then, it wasn't really his business. but he would say something if they got into it a little too much.
the tree lighting ceremony wasn't all that special, to him, anyway. another reason he wasn't too keen on it was the big crowd of people it brought. so why was he here? well, jackson didn't exactly feel like sitting at home while the rest of his friends, and hot girls, were out doing things. he could have gone to a bar or club, his charm and looks, plus a fake id, made it possible for him to get it. but some weren't even open, the owners taking part in the holiday events, and the ones that were open have few people in them; most of them guys. and jackson didn't swing that way.
jackson had walked there alone, since his mom had other plans, arriving to find a bigger crowd than he'd figured on. he supposed he'd have to stay, whether he liked it or not, since he'd told his sisters he'd see them there. he told himself he wouldn't be staying long, though. jackson didn't like crowds as it was, but add to that the fact that his seizures could be triggered by stress, among quite a few other things, he didn't want to chance it. the problem was, he never really knew what would set one off. could be something he'd eaten, a high stress situation, too much excitement or even extremely bright lighting.
he lit a cigarette, which sometimes helped to keep him calm, and puffed at it, hanging back from the crowd for the time being. jackson saw a few people he knew, mostly girls, but didn't see either of his sisters. he pulled his phone out and texted both of them, slipping it back into his pocket till he got a reply. once he'd finished it, he pulled a flask out, taking a pretty good swig of it. jackson felt his pocket vibrate as he received a text. he checked it, then began walking towards one of the small food stands to meet up with them. he hung out with them for a while, grabbing a bit of food, then decided to go off on his own for a while. jackson was getting a little antsy from being around so many people and how loud everything was, needing to just get away from it for a bit. by this time he actually didn't feel like going home, so he looked for a spot away from the crowd where he could sit and drink for a bit.
jackson starting walking away from the crowd and soon found what he wished for. a small clump of trees that would give him some privacy and quiet. he sat down, feeling a bit tired. that was one of the side affects of both the cancer and treatments. jackson tired easily at times, and they always told him the same thing. lots of rest. his last treatment had been.. a week ago? he couldn't remember. that was something he hated, too. some weeks were a complete blur for him, hardly remembering anything that happened. they told him that it was just something that came with the treatments, but jackson had to wonder if his brain cancer was getting worse.
he heard the crunch of footsteps in the snow long before he made out who it was. to jackson's surprise, it was church girl, or natalie. though that's what he usually thought in his head every time he saw her. he could think of no reason why she'd want to talk to him, of all people. "hey," jackson replied, with a smile that was more of a smirk. her body language told him that she wasn't used to this sort of thing, and his smile widened without him bothering to hide it. speaking of body.. she seemed to be showing a bit more of it off. he listened to her reasons for coming over and had to feel a bit bad for her. perhaps if he knew more of the details he'd feel worse, but he hadn't been there that night, having had a treatment earlier that day, and they weren't easy on him. jackson wasn't one for showing compassion, even if he felt it, since he considered that side of himself to be weak. "yeah, i heard about that." he showed genuine surprise at her request, laughing a little and seriously thinking she had to be kidding. "uhm.. no? for two reasons: first, daddy would hunt me down and kill me, and second, you're a bit underage." jackson grinned as he took another swig from the flask.

Natalie brushed off about him hearing about what happened. Most of the town had heard about what happened. The ones who hadn’t usually didn’t spend much time around here. Like her father, she wanted to move past it but not quite in the sense he wanted. ”Yeah who hasn’t?“ she grumbled out. She hated being known as “that girl”. sure being known as that church girl was fine-she had come to terms with that. Not the fact she was that girl who got kidnapped. Natalie grunted as she leaned against the tree behind her. Her hands tugged on the end of her scarf in thought as she looked around. She was stupid for coming over here but she was tired of her anxiety pills. Sure they calmed her down but she felt like a zombie. She had enough of feeling that way.
A snort left her in a half attempt to laugh at him. ”Underage? Really? And how old are you again?” Apparently being around Isabella was having more of an influence on Natalie then she thought. They had only been talking for about a month, maybe more? Then again, Natalie didn’t have many female influences so it wasn’t that hard to pick up on the mannerisms of others. That and mixed with her time that she hung around Autumn she was probably becoming a lot more rounded then she was in these previous seventeen years of her life. As she watched him take a sip she pressed on foot flush to the tree trunk and tapped it against the wood which caused her body to shake a little. At least it helped her to stay warm since she hadn’t slipped tights on. That and though this was technically a sweater dress it wasn’t as thick as normal sweaters.
”And if you’re worried about my “daddy” don’t be. He’s too wrapped up in the choir to care about what I’m doing. Besides, he wants me to “get better, move on and make friends again” as he tells me often. So I’m moving on and making new friends. No matter how pestering they can be at times.” She shot him a look that held no smile but laughter was in her eyes. Yes she was referring to when they first met. ”I know I’m not one who usually does this but I’m tired of being timid and scared. So me getting better is changing.” Why she had let that much out she didn’t know. Perhaps because when nervous she just sort of rambled. That seemed to be a general female trait she observed. Or just the girls she knew. She popped her jaw in and out of it’s socket in thought before she spoke again. ”What do you want? Except for you know,” Natalie said as she waved her hand around aimlessly. She may not be familiar with parties or how people interacted in situations involving alcohol but perhaps bartering would work with Jackson.

[/color] Apaprently avoiding his father didn’t work. The elder Winslet caught up with him and tried to pester his son about some stuff. Jude shrugged him off and said they would talk later. With that he tucked himself away and went someplace closer to the group of people so if he came around he’d be less likely to say something. He thought about leaving until Sydni came around. Only then did Jude smile as she wrapped her arms around his waist. He placed his hands on top of Sydni’s arms and squeezed gently. ”Hey babe.” He rubbed his hands along hers and nodded. ”You’re welcome. Honestly if you weren’t here I wouldn’t even have come.” He sighed as he looked around. Some people in the crowds seemed to be getting antsy for them to start up. He rocked them from side to side gently as he sighed. Jude really didn’t want to be here. He just wanted to go home and have a meal, perhaps with a drink. No he didn’t overindulge anymore but sometimes he liked to take the edge off. Especially since things with his father was on the rocks. Again. Not that it was ever off them.
Jude breathed in and moved so he could be besides Sydni and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. He pressed a kiss to her temple and then rested his face there for a moment. ”You ready for your speech?” Jude didn’t understand why this whole thing had to be stuffy. Let the choir sing some carols, flip the lights and be done with it. Maybe it was because of everything that happened a couple months ago but he hated town functions even more. He had never really been a fan of them, even as a kid. His father always made it seem like he had to do it not something fun. When the fun got sucked out of you it never really came back. Jude had some moments but certain things were hard to wipe from your system.

jackson could tell she really didn't want to talk about, and for good reason. the talk at school had switched from the 'church girl' stuff to 'that girl'. the one who got kidnapped. he'd listened, of course, but hadn't commented much. jackson had also heard more rumors about her father and something that had happened years ago that certain people had been hiding all that time. he wasn't sure whether to believe any of it or not. though he supposed it could be true, or at least part of it. jackson nodded at her comment, taking another sip from his flask. he didn't blame her for sounding grumpy about it; he'd feel the same way, maybe even worse.
"older than you," jackson replied, grinning. natalie had been influenced by someone since their last meeting, he realized. the differences in her appearance, plus her attitude, and the fact that she was asking him for a drink of alcohol. he wondered, a little jealously, if she had a boyfriend now. jackson supposed she could keep that a secret, at least for a little while. of course, there were plenty of girls at school that could influence her, so maybe that was it. hopefully. he glanced up at her when she tapped the tree, realizing she looked cold. jackson supposed he should give her a drink. he didn't really mind; he just enjoyed giving her a hard time.
jackson listened to her speech about her dad; she actually sounded bitter about him. things had certainly changed quite a bit since the fair incident. it must have been something major for her to think so differently about him now, and in such a short time. jackson knew now wasn't the time, but he planned on asking her for the details, eventually. "i see.." he replied, for once not exactly sure what to say. he smirked, taking the hint about the last part, widening it to a grin when she shot him a look. yes, he was completely unrepentant. jackson gave a snort at her next comment. "you can say that again." he looked up, studying her for a moment and wondering what else had changed about her. "looks like you already have," he commented, an approving tone in his voice as he raked his eyes over her body once more. then he began to wonder.. why was she telling him all this? he could barely get her to say five words to him last time, and now it was whole sentences.
he stared at for a moment, trying to decide whether or not she was serious. the new natalie was full of surprises, apparently. jackson leaned forward, his elbows on his knees, the flask held loosely in his hands. "what do i want?" he repeated, pretending to think about it. "honestly, i don't think your virgin ears could handle it.." jackson paused, holding back a smile. of course, he wasn't going to say what he really wanted, at least not yet. "but, i wouldn't mind a kiss," he told her, grinning as he looked up at her.

I could use somebody, I've been roaming around always looking down at all I see. Painted faces, fill the places I can't reach. You know that I could use somebody. Someone like you, and all you know and how you speak. Countless lovers under cover of the street. Landon scratched at his cheek as he grunted at Kitty’s question. While she was a great friend sometimes she could be a bit...obnoxious? Yes, obnoxious. Just like a little sister. He had an older one and knew she could be a fairly large one as well. Maybe it was just a girl thing. Or the girls in his life. ”Well I did until we got into a fight.” Landon’s jaw clenched as he shook her head in frustration. His hands were shoved into his coat, clenching and unclenching. It was a coping mechanism for him, one of the only ones that worked. Especially after his fiancée had left him. He had been filled with such rage that he literally wanted to hit any and everything in sight. Boxing had been a great outlet for that but being in the middle of the night he really couldn’t get to the gym.
He filled his lungs by breathing in through his nose before he released it slower. ”I found my mom. My birth mom I mean. She’s in New York and I’m going to see her sometime after Christmas.” His lips pressed together to form a thin line as his eyes got a far off look. He wasn’t really looking at anything despite his gaze falling in the general direction of the tree. ”I just mentioned I was still confused about staying in Maine or going home to the Carolinas or maybe, if she wanted me to, moving near my mom in New York.” Landon let out a drawn out grunt as he kicked at the snow. He never expected to just be tossed into a situation like this-torn between three places to live. Maybe he shouldn’t go to any of those places and move to the opposite end of the country.
”But I’m done talking about this.” Landon cracked his neck in an attempt to calm himself before he turned to look at Kitty. The two were an odd pair of friends really. She was a few years younger, goofy and a huge tomboy. Well, at least they had the goofy part in common. ”What have you been up to? Any new boughts of troublemaking that I need to bail you out of?”

Kitty blinked as she realized her friend was unhappy. She was usually pretty good at picking up on his moods but apparently she had missed this one. "I'm... sorry..." Maybe she should have just left him alone? Her eyes softened as she watched him struggle with his anger. Poor guy... he had enough going on and here he was, always helping her out. Why did she have to bother him with her simple problems?
She shook her head, clearing it and trying hard not to let him worry about her. She had to make this better, to make him feel better. "Hey... don't worry so much about it... I'm sure you both will figure something out... you got school and stuff still.. plenty of time to talk it over... right?" She didn't want to aggravate him more but she really wanted to repay him for all the times he helped her.
Kitty flushed slightly and rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. "I may or may not have skipped school again and gone to hang out at the arcade..." She mumbled quietly, looking away from him and hoping he didn't hear. The school would've left a message at her house saying she wasn't in but her mother, not being one to speak English, more than likely ignored it.

Natalie rolled her eyes at Jackson as she shifted her weight from a moment. ”Oh you are so much older by a year.” One could get whiplash with how quickly Natalie’s personality had changed over the last week. It became bitter and full of fire. The only person she stayed her usual, sweet self around was Autumn. Otherwise she didn’t have much patience for anyone at all. She was tired of the questions of what she had been through or talking about it in general. She usually got people to back off now when she had her scar on her shoulder showing. That couldn’t always be hidden from everyone. A couple of people had seen the one on her lower leg but only three people had seen the one on her hip aside form doctors. One was her father as he had to dress the wound, Isabella from their shopping trip and Autumn because she had changed in front of her once. Otherwise they were hidden. Still, if anyone had questions about the ones they saw she had a flippant answer.
She wasn’t unaware of his gaze on her. Her jacket wasn’t exactly buttoned closed and the dress moved along with her delicate curves. It wasn’t tight like a bandage dress but it also didn’t hide everything. With plenty of practice she now knew how to do her make-up in a way that complimented her brilliantly blue eyes. A half smirk formed on her own lips. ”Yes well I that’s about all you’ll see of ho much I’ve changed.” See? She could tease some even if it was a bit lame. Natalie was new to the flirting and teasing game. That was something she still needed to learn and it’s not like it was something one could pick up over night. Perhaps she’d tag along with Isabella when she went out just to observe. Natalie wanted to finally be able to have some fun. Now that she was letting loose as one could say she liked this feeling. She was having fun and enjoyed feeling...hot. She knew her sex appeal wasn’t as high as many oher girls but she figured eventually she could get there.
With her hands in her pockets, Natalie leaned her body forward slightly. ”And they’ll be staying virgin for awhile longer but doesn’t mean I can‘t handle it.” That was something she wanted clear in general. She had no clue when she’d let that part of her go. Would she continue to wait until marriage or just until she was in love? Or would she just let it go randomly? That was something she no longer knew. With a blank look on her face Natalie pushed away from the tree and moved to get on her knees in front of Jackson. She hovered a few inches in front of his face her own heart racing in nervous. Not because she was particularly attracted to him or turned on, though he was cute enough. Natalie didn’t really have a type so not like she could really judge. She moved her face forward slowly but just before she made contact with his lips she diverted and pressed a kiss to his cheek with a chuckle. Her hand grabbed at the flask he was barely holding onto as she moved to sit beside him, part of her body brushing against his. ”You never said where I had to kiss you.” Natalie opened the flask and took a whiff of it. She could tell it was straight alcohol, nothing mixed. When she took a sip it burned on the way down at first seeing as it was straight alcohol. Her face screwed up and she choked. Once she gained her bearings she took another sip and this one went down much easier. The couple of drinks she had tried with a friend the other day had been mixed ones like rum and coke or some fruity concoction. And wine. Those were the only things she had tried.
Natalie handed the flask back to Jackson and turned her head to look at him. They were fairly close at this point. ”So why are you here, drinking alone, when the masses of girls you chase are out there?” Since their first meeting she had learned a bit more about him and realized he was a player. And serious one. No girl had been able to tie him down even if they tried. Of course that had led to a few broken hearts but what did a girl expect? A tiger couldn’t change his stripes and Jackson was definitely a predator.

"older is older," jackson replied with a shrug as he took another sip, sort of taunting her with it, since she'd asked for some, but he still hadn't said yes. he was still debating on whether or not to do so. the nice thing would be, but then, jackson really wasn't a nice guy. he was very selfish, arrogant, reckless and all sorts of bad. so maybe he'd keep the whiskey for himself. after all, half of it was gone already. but then, maybe she needed it just as bad as him, or more so. was this jackson having a care about someone else? well, maybe temporarily. he brought his attention back to natalie. he liked this new version of her. she was sassy and impatient, quite the turn on for him.
jackson was observant enough to notice that even the way she was doing her makeup had changed. natalie had seemed to look a bit different when she'd walked up, but he'd just now pinpointed it. amazing the effect makeup had on a girls appearance, though he figured she'd look amazing with or without it. jackson liked it better than the way she'd been doing it, though. not that that had been bad; this was just better, like the other changes. he smiled a little at her words. "maybe," was his cocky reply. oh, he planned on finding out just how much she'd changed, and adding to it. jackson knew she'd been teasing him, even if she wasn't all that great at it, but it was cute that she tried. he didn't doubt she'd catch on eventually, and he knew that when that happened natalie would have a swarm of guys around her. that's why he figured he had to try now, before his chances were gone. she was the type that would go for the 'good guy' type, not the bad boy.
he laughed at her reaction. "well, maybe yours ears, but what about your eyes?" jackson challenged, albeit jokingly. he didn't know how much she actually knew about the whole process, but it couldn't be much. maybe none. as far as how long they'd being staying that way, it wouldn't be, if he had his way. it was clear she still had limits, which wasn't surprising to him, but he figured it wouldn't be long before she was convinced to toss those to the side, too. after all, her transformation had been quick; the rest would soon follow, no doubt. jackson was hoping, anyway. he was somewhat surprised when natalie began to get down on her knees in front of him. would she actually do it? he guessed she wanted that drink real bad. he kept the surprise off of his face, however, taking on a cocky expression as he waited for her to kiss him. jackson leaned forward a little, too, but let her do most of it. he really thought she was going to do it, till the last second, when she kissed him on the cheek instead. before he knew it, she'd taken the flask from him and had sat down. he had to give it to her, she was sneaky. jackson shook his head, holding back a smile as he sat back. he had to agree with her statement. "you have a point," he allowed, knowing he'd get his kiss, eventually, whether natalie was willing to give him one or not.
jackson watched her sniff at it, wondering if she'd actually take a sip of straight alcohol. he laughed as she made a face and choked a bit, though he'd been the same the first time. to his surprise, she took another sip, and seemed to have an easier go of it. that's how it was with alcohol, or most people probably wouldn't continue to drink it. jackson had a high tolerance, by now, since he'd been drinking since he was fifteen. "you ok?" he asked with a laugh. he took the flask back from her, helping himself to another drink. he shrugged. "guess i've done enough chasing for today," he replied with a smirk, sort of avoiding the question. he didn't want natalie knowing the real reason, or anyone else, for that matter.

Skylar was no where near the Tree Lighting Ceremony tonight. No, they were at the power plant. Why you might ask? Well we don’t want to give it all away right off now do we?
After Skylar snuck their way in they used chloroform to take care of anyone who got in their way which wasn’t many people. After all how many people really had to be here in the middle of the night? Not many. No, pretty much the people without families in town were working right now. All the ones with children were at the Tree Lighting Ceremony celebrating the impending holiday season. They would be singing carols, put their wishes in the tree(which was a stupid idea) and flipping the lights on that ridiculous tree. The stupid traditions this town hung onto were ridiculous. Everyone needed to grow up and realize what was going on behind all these ridiculous customs. They really were blind fools.
Once Skylar’s phone beeped they checked the message and gave a solitary but firm nod. Skylar moved about the control room. They had gotten the information on how to shut down the main power before sending them to a drugged up state of sleep. As Skylar flipped some switches they sat back in the chair. It looks like a simple rolling power outage. Nothing too crazy, right? Nearly everyone in the power plant was knocked out so not like they’d be answering as the phone began to ring off the hook. The only sucky thing about power outages were phones still worked. Oh well. Skylar just sat there and looked over the darkened city for several minutes. Oh how they wished they could be in the town square to see how everyone was panicking. Especially poor, little Natalie Owens. How many awful memories this had to bring up. The thought caused a snicker to leave Skyalr’s lips as the thought played in their head. Oh that “poor thing”. Yeah, because she was doing so awful now.
Another beep came from Skylar’s phone. Oh well, no more imagining how it was going down there. Avery filled Skylar in on some of the details but mostly said it was time to flip the lights back on. It was time to reveal their surprise to the town...

Post by AVERY NEVAEH DAVIS on Feb 12, 2013 18:04:00 GMT -5
Everything was going to plan now! Avery was sitting in the town during the tree lighting ceremony right in the open! They were standing here talking to people and even talking to a good portion of them. A smile spread on Avery’s lips as they talked to quite a few people there being friendly. It was nice to be out in person and everyone still not know who you were. When the message came through Avery read it and moved over to where the new mayor…or well the fill in mayor was giving their speech at. The gazebo where everything was going to go down.
As the speech began Avery gave a yawn and imitated most of the people around them. They all just wanted to get on with everything else and leave to do the rest of the fun things. Even Avery was taking part in these festivities to fit in like everyone else. As Sydni got closer to the end of her speech, Avery had a small smile on their face as they sent a message to Skylar.
Do it!
In seconds the town went black. That was Avery’s moment to strike. Their hands in their pocket Avery hit the switch that would drop the noose and the dummy. A knife sticking into the dummy’s heart with a picture of the mayor beaten, bloody, gagged and tied up on the floor. When done the message sent to Skylar to turn the lights back on. The real life like dummy was going to make someone scream. When the lights returned Avery’s eyes widened in shock like everyone else’s. A woman in the back screamed and then fainted as little kids started to cry with the sight of the ‘person’ hanging there. It was a good thing that the switch was easy to destroy so no one would find it.
As some people started to calm down and hot chocolate was getting passed around Avery took one when offered to them and thanked the person. Sipping on it they let out a sigh and pulled the hoodie tighter around them. Silently and slowly when people weren’t watching Avery slipped away and took off down an alley way. When they were alone and in a deserted building Avery pulled out their phone and called Skylar. “It’s done, Skylar. Get out of there now.”
