They’d just gotten back from the restaurant. Dinner had been nice, and with everything going on in the town lately it was nice to just have a nice conversation over dinner. Tonight was to be the night - yes, tonight was to be the night Sydni would tell Jude her secret. She realized that morning that she wouldn’t be able to hide it for much longer. She had wanted to keep it a secret - until she knew she was completely safe - but the one person who needed to actually know right now was Jude. He was the father - after all. She was thirteen weeks pregnant, and already her belly was just beginning to bulge. Her appetite had increased a great deal, and she knew Jude could tell something was up.
As she entered the house, she began unbuttoning her jacket. She was nervous, and she figured because of the hormones as well as her anxiety levels - she was lightheaded. She felt woozy and just did not know how to exactly tell him. She pushed her brown locks back, as she looked at him, standing in her living room. Would he get angry? Would he understand her reason for not telling him at first? Would he walk out of her life - out of their lives? Sydni braced herself for the worse.
Over the past few months, she’d seriously fallen for Jude. She didn’t ever really verbally admit it, due to past reasons, but she did love him. There was nothing in this world that was as important to her as he was. He was kind, gentle, and he understood her… so much more than most people. He understood why she threw herself at her job, why she strived for perfection, and why she was so well reserved. She loved the boy with all of her heart - and she would protect him from anything she could. He’d taken care of her when she was sick, he’d come to her job when she basically lived there for days at a time to make sure she ate, even went to her house to take care of her dog. He was a good man, and he had a good heart.
She trembled, with her coat in her hands about to hang it up in its place, “Jude.. I have something to tell you..”
