[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,padding-left:16px; padding-top:0px; padding-right:0px; padding-bottom:0px; background-image:url(http://i51.tinypic.com/2nbr3oi.jpg) ] we are apart of the same play the same play - - - - - - - - - - - - - - it was just past midnight and like always, dakota was out and about. her father had just gotten done yelling at her for the usual; about how dancing isn't a real major and she should do something useful with her life instead of just dancing her way through life. literally. whenever she was having issues she went to one of two places; the beach or logan's house. today, she didn't feel like waking up logan at midnight; she actually just felt like going to the beach and hanging out there until morning. she had already gotten dressed for the next day anyways; that's how her nights usually went. she would come home after classes, get yelled at for a few hours, hide out in her room until her father and step-mother went to bed, and sneak out in clothing for the next day. for tomorrow's outfit, just the usual shorts and long sleeved shirt with her super holey red converse. she really needed to buy some more however her dance class job wasn't really enough to pay for a new pair of shoes just yet. dakota was saving up her money though; that's something she was good with managing her money. dakota finally made it to the beach and took her usual spot underneath the pier. she took her shoes off along with the long sleeve shirt. no one was around, so a tank top wasn't a big deal. the car crash a few years back left some pretty nasty marks on her and she never wore anything except long sleeved shirts. she re-put her hat on and put on some music. dakota had to come up with a routine for a dance recital in her dance class. she could have a partner or do it solo; she only ever danced with one other person and he was just a senior in high school now. so, solo it was. plus, she didn't really count on others to keep up with her. the teacher said that she could do any style she wanted, but it had to be held up to a certain level since they were now at the university level. she had no problem with it considering she'd been making up her own routines since she was about fourteen. her mom had always let her do anything she wanted, and back then, her father wasn't such a douche. after her mom died, her father pulled her out of everything that costed him money. the red head sat on the beach and just listened to the songs over and over again. she had narrowed the choices down to a few but she still didn't know what song she wanted to exactly do. she really liked the song same love from macklemore. actually, come to think of it, she liked macklemore in general. another song was the 'and we danced' from him. it was more upbeat, so that was more likely to get choosen. then came the two lindsey sterling songs. lindsey sterling was a violin player; but she wasn't just any violin player. dubstep violin. the two songs were shadows and elements. but, listening to all four songs over and over again, she finally decided on 'and we danced'. she got up, put the song on repeat, and placed the phone in her shoe so she wouldn't loose it. she tried to come up with some moves for the chorus and think of others. she closed her eyes in her head and managed to come up with something for the chorus after half an hour. she just did some moves that felt right with the beat and the music. she did a spin and fell on her ass. however, she got right back up and just tried again. when dakota gets on a dancing kick, she stays that way until she passes out in the sand. that's usually how it went anyways. she would dance until about four in the morning, sleep in the luke-warm sand, and her alarm would go off at six-thirty before anyone could spot her on the beach. |
