[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- When Lexi got a call from Jayce saying he was moving back to Maine she was thrilled. She hadn’t seen her brother in law-ex brother in law?-since she left California. Now he would be living and working here which made her happy. She had always had a soft spot for her husband’s little brother. She always tried to show him love and kindness and always welcomed him into their home. While he was in college it wasn’t like he had a lot of time to visit. Nor around the time she had lost the baby. Lexi was very depressed then. Jayce did come see her on the days his brother had to work, making sure she was eating and drinking water. She had always felt like she gained so much more then just her husband when they had gotten married. Of course his parents had never felt the same way about her but Lexi got over it. She married her husband, not his parents.
So, now that she knew where he was living and when he was and wasn’t working, Lexi decided to make a visit. She made her chicken enchiladas that the boys had always loved and some wild rice. She had already gotten dressed, including her shoes, so that as soon as he food was done she could go straight to his house before everything got cold. His apartment was only ten minutes away. Daniel and Leila were still on their honeymoon and would be for another three days. Lexi insisted they take a couple extra days because of the chaos after the wedding. The two deserved to enjoy themselves before coming home. Meanwhile, Lexi had moved everything from the house at the beach to the house her and Daniel’s grandparents had given him. She set things up in her childhood room as well as in her private sitting room. Lexi had a lot of things, mainly her “geek” things. Dvd box sets of sci-fi movies and shows, her D&D set and some collectables. Very few people knew about that side of her as she did a good job of keeping it hidden.
When the food was ready, she grabbed hot pads and carried first the dish with the enchiladas out then the bowl of rice. She tossed her purse in the back seat and then peeled out of the driveway. She went a little faster then normal, mostly because she was excited to get out of the house. Her maroon colored heeled boot pressed on the gas pedal as she stared ahead. When she found his apartment building, she found a place to park and got out before she went around to grab everything. By this time it had gotten dark. Lexi didn’t have to work tomorrow and Daniel wasn’t around to call her in a panic to make sure she was ok. That meant she could take as long as she needed as she caught up with Jayce. Awkwardly she got into the building before she reached his apartment. With the bowl of rice on top of the casserole dish she didn’t have a free hand. This left her to step back and use her foot to kick at his door. ”I come baring food! I’m sure it’s better then whatever crap you planned to order.” The warm dishes made her uncomfortably warm. Under her jacket she wore a mint colored cardigan with a rose colored t-shirt. She was wearing one of the few pairs of jeans she owned along with a gold heart necklace that had a matching ring and gold diamond stud earrings. Her hair was pulled back with a braid made to look like a headband and then pulled back into a bun. She wore minimal make-up and was glad. With the heat of these items she would her been feeling gross.
As soon as the door was opened she pushed past him and went to set the items down on the counter. ”I just took these out of the oven maybe fifteen minutes ago. I was beginning to feel as warm as I get in the summer.” She organized everything on the counter, not really caring that this was Jayce’s place. She just made herself right at home with setting the food on the ocunter and then slipping her jacket off.

Today was going to be a good day for Jayce. This was the day that he was going to see Lexi for the first time in a really long time. Looking around his apartment he decided to clean it up and make sure everything was ready for when she came over tonight. When he was done fixing the apartment up he moved to the table and opened the curtains then set the table. A bottle of wine sitting next to the table chilling for later when they started eating. Making his way back to the cabinet he found some candles and placed them on the table. Once he was satisfied he made his way to his bedroom.
Once there he pulled his clothes off and tossed them in the hamper before grabbing his towel and making his way into the bathroom to take a shower. He was going to get ready and smell good for her. What? She was family! In a way that was. Unless you didn’t count the fact that he had a small crush on her still and she was his dead brothers ex wife. Once done in the shower he popped out and went to shave. Now that he was clean shaven he made his way back through his apartment to finish drying off and find some clothes that would be comfortable to wear for tonight.
When he had his outfit picked out he laid it out and then heard a knocking on the door. What in the hell? Heading out he looked through the peep hole to see that Lexi was there already. Oh shit! He wasn’t dressed and here she was at the apartment already! Hearing her saying she brought food made his stomach growl. Well now he really was hungry. Unlocking the door he opened it up and smelt the amazing smell of her cooking flood his nose as she pushed in. “Well hello to you too Lex.” Laughing he followed her into the kitchen after he closed and locked the door. “It smells amazing like always Lex.” When she slipped her jacket off he walked up to her and took it before hanging it up. “You look amazing!”
Giving her a hug from behind he smiled then placed a kiss to her cheek. “I hope you don’t mind if I go finish getting dressed.” Running back into his room he slipped out of the towel and pulled his pants on then walked back out as he pulled his shirt on. “So how have you been?” Pulling down two plates and glasses he walked over to the fridge and opened it up. “What would you like to drink?” Thankfully they would both have some good food and drink tonight. “I’ve missed seeing you around.” Looking up he gave her a friendly smile.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- Though the two kept in contact, it had been weird for Lexi. One, because of his brother’s death and two, because Jayce and Ian’s parents hated Lexi. They blamed her Ian taking the boat out and dying. She already blamed herself enough and they made it worse. Especially when they sent her the papers to sign off for declaration of death a year after everything that had happened. That had been hard on her. Especially after the will was read and Lexi got most assets. There were some personal belongings that went to his parents and brother but everything pretty much went to her. She didn’t keep them all as she gave plenty to his parents but they still had a few unkind words about it. Lexi didn’t want to have things be hard on Jayce if they knew the two of them were still talking. She wasn’t sure if they’d get upset at him or not. It would be interesting with him back here in Hope Harbor, knowing she lived here.
Lexi had been in such a rush to put the hot items down she didn’t even fully register looking at Jayce. She saw his face and that was all she processed. She was just so warm and all she waned to do was to cool down her body. She smiled as he helped her with his coat even though he couldn’t really see the upturn of her lips. She took the top off the larger dish and was thankful the enchiladas didn’t slide everywhere and come apart. ”Yes, well cooking for a pregnant woman I have perfected many recipes. I swear Leila craves everything under the sun that she shouldn’t have while pregnant.” As she wiped her hands along her jeans, Jayce came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her before giving her a peck. A blush crept along her face and neck as she realized he was very much undressed. She cleared her throat as she nodded. ”Yeah probably best,” came out in a slightly flustered manner.
Lexi let out a breath of air as she shook her head, pressing the back of her hands to her cheeks to calm herself. That was awkward. She had seen Jayce in his swim trunks but never that undressed. Once she felt calm she went to the door to unzip and slip her boots off before she put the dishes with the food on the neatly set table. Her eyes gazed over the candles and how nice everything looked but passed the thought over. When he came back she glanced over his form. ”I’ll take whatever you’ve got.” Lexi wasn’t a drink snob just she rarely got drunk because she was a friendly drunk. Very friendly. Because of that Ian insisted she only drink in excess around him which was just fine. Made for some fun nights afterwards. Lexi moved to help Jayce with getting the dishes for the table before she placed a peck on his cheek. ”I’ve missed you too Jay-Jay. Now you’ll have to tell me all about why in the world you’d trade in the big city life to come back here.” Lexi set what dishes she had down before the two of them sat down across form one another.

Thankfully no one knew that the two kept in contact or there would have been some major family drama. After losing his brother Lexi became that rock that he could count on and talk to. If someone had a problem with that then they should shut up because they had no idea what it is like to lose someone so close. As he thought about tonight he sighed and continued his routine. He would be ready by the time she got here. Hopefully she wouldn’t mind about having a few drinks tonight. Did he know how she was when she drunk? Not at all. The only thing he knew was they had never actually been able to drink together before so now they could.
As she burst into the apartment he chuckled to himself and shook his head. While she spoke up about having to cook for Leila and how she was eating things she shouldn’t he couldn’t help but shake his head. “Maybe it’s just because she’s craving these foods.” Nodding his head he held onto her gently as he pressed against her. “I could eat like this if you want me to.” He teased as he poked her side gently.
While he got dressed he shook his head as he pulled his pants on. What was wrong with him? He should be a good person. When he came out and looked for something to drink he smiled as she told him she would be fine with anything. “Well if you’re sure about that Lex.” Grinning he pulled a six pack of ice cold beer from the fridge and carried them to the table. “I hope this is okay.” When she gives him a peck to the cheek he flushes red and smiles to himself.
When they sit down at the table he relaxes and looks up at Lexi when she calls him by his nickname. Or well the nickname she gave him. As he sat there trying to think about how to answer the question she asked he took a bite of the food. “Oh wow, this is so good!” A smile spreads on his lips as he eats. After a few moments he looks up at her as he opens two beers and passes her one. “Well with everything that’s gone on back home, I don’t want to have that memory. It’s too much and there is nothing left for me there. Out here I can make a new life and have a fresh start. The fact you’re here makes this whole thing easier for me. You know someone familiar to me that can help me adjust if I need help.” Finishing off one enchilada he takes the beer and brings it to his lips as he takes a long drink from it.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- Lexi had always been a little bit naïve growing up. Sure, she knew about the birds and the bees and to not do bad things like drugs or alcohol. But, she never knew when someone liked her unless they told her. And she had a tendency to ignore people’s various states of undress. Being a nurse she had to be used to all different parts of the anatomy. Not that Lexi was overly familiar with nude forms but she was generally comfortably enough around people.
So why did having Jayce in such a state of undress make her feel uncomfortable? Was it knowing his towel could fall? Or how he wrapped his arms around her tightly and pressed a kiss to her cheek? Or was it a combination or all of those and knowing that this was Dean’s brother? Sure she hugged Jayce and would get close to him but...this situation was different. Lexi cleared her throat as she chuckled nervously. ”As much as I know you enjoy showing off your abs, this is nto a beach with scantily clad women all around you.” After he walked away, Lexi shook her head. Tonight was starting off with weird vibes. Probably because the two hadn’t seen each other in so long and they had to keep their friendship secret. So, being so close after all that, was bound to be awkward.
Lexi shrugged. ”Beer’s fine. I think it will go with the meal perfectly.” Lexi served them each their first serving before she settled back in her chair. ”Well I remembered how you and Dean used to golf these down like they were your life force so I thought it might be a nice welcome back to Hope Harbor meal.” As she bite into her food she looked up and locked eyes with Jayce. It really had been too long since they could really see each other or talk. She had missed him so much. He had really been her other rock aside from Daniel after Dean’s accident. He had always been so supportive when she needed it, whether Dean asked him to or not. And now he was here and the two could become good friends again.
She took several long pulls of her beer as he talked about “back at home”. Of course she knew what that was like-it’s why Lexi had left California to come home to Maine. Lexi didn’t even realize she had gone through half her beer until she set it aside. She clasped her lips together to make sure no belch came out which thankfully it didn’t. that would’ve been embarrassing. ”What did your parents say about you moving here?” Lexi’s voice was on filled with pain as she finished off her plate of food, taking bites of enchilada and rice mixed together. Lexi hated that her in-laws disliked her so much. She had tried to get them to like her but it all seemed in vain so eventually she just gave up. Jayce had liked her well enough which was good at least.
She felt like her appetite was wearing off she leaned back in her chair and slouched slightly while she finished off her beer. Lexi’s head tilted to the side as a grin played on her face. ”Adjsut? Really? What adjusting ot you need. For goodness sakes you used to live here. There shouldn’t be mch adjusting that needs to be done.” With her first beer gone, Lexi put it on the table and now leaned her arms on the edge of the table. ”Or is there another reason you’re here, JayJay?” She pretended to give him a dead stare as she paused briefly. ”You finally just snapped in LA didn’t you? The pressure was too much for the small town boy and broke. I bet you ran through the streets wearing nothing but your officer’s hat. And with that Magic Mike movie I’m sure plenty of girls came flocking.”[/c] Lexi‘s laugh fell out again before she reached for her second beer and drank this one a little more slowly. She already had a buzz goingo n from finishing the first one off so fast. tag: jayce outfit: click! lyric credit: everly notes: -- |

It was kind of awkward actually standing there in front of Lexi in absolutely nothing but a towel. The only way it could have gotten worse would be if his towel had fallen off right in front of her. Then it would be a disaster for him. Hearing the nervousness in her chuckle made him smile. “It’s not like you haven’t seen me like this before. Though the fact my towel could fall any moment would be bad so I’m going to change now.” Oh if only he could have stayed in his towel for the whole time she was here. Hopefully things would turn around and start going right for their sake. No more awkward moments were needed tonight.
As he returned and scoured the fridge he grinned at her reply. “True story, beer and enchilada’s make a great combination.” Not the fact that they could get wasted right now. Hell if she got too bad she could crash on the couch. Sitting across from her and her comment about how him and Dean used to eat these made a small smile come to his lips. “Your cooking was like the only thing that got me through collage. I swear if you weren’t there I probably would have starved.” It was true! He was always at Dean and Lexi’s place eating dinner or lunch while he was in school. If not then he would have had to eat that horrible food they served in the cafeteria. As they started to eat he relaxed more as he finally got comfortable with the situation. It was about time they got back into their normal routine of hanging out like normal.
When she grabbed her beer he watched her as she downed like the entire thing right there in one sitting. A laugh escaped him as he watched her. “Still able to chug you drinks like it’s nothing, huh?” Picking up his own beer he finished it off and as he set the empty can down he smirked at her. Grabbing another can he shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t think they were too happy but they didn’t know you’re here so that’s a good thing. I personally hate how they try to micromanage me in every way.” Finishing the food that was on his plate he sighed out in content. “God I’ve missed great cooking like that.”
Watching her movements after she finished her meal he shrugged his shoulders as he thought about it.“Didn’t you have to readjust after living in LA for so long? The way things are from here and there. It’s so much different. I think it’s the fact that being in a small town is different.” Besides all the things in town that have changed. She would be able to show him around town. When she spoke up about another reason he perked up and looked dead into her eyes. Her hypothesis on what happened to him made him laugh. “Well if you wanted to picture me naked in a cop hat you could have asked earlier when I was naked.” He teased her. With a laugh he shook his head and then took a swing of his new beer. “I guess you’re kind of right in a way. The pressure of living there and seeing a murder like every day drives you nuts.”
Cleaning up the plates he put them in the kitchen and walked back to the table taking her hand in his and picking up the other two beers. “Come on, I got a movie for us to watch.” Sitting on the couch he opened up the arm rest and stuck the two beers in the cooler along with the rest as he grabbed the remote and turned on the tv and DVD player. It’s A Wonderful Life popped up on the screen and he pressed the play button and then relaxed back on the couch. Looking over at her he smiled. “I know you love these kinds of movies.” Turning back to the screen he took a swing of his beer and then set it down as the movie started.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- Lexi shifted around. She was confused as to why she felt so weird around Jayce in his state of undress but she just ignored it. Lexi had a tendency to ignore little things. There were so many other, bigger problems in life. Why focus on the little things that upset or confused her momentarily? ”You know I don’t think I’ve actually had a beer since that cook out for your brother’s birthday. I’ve been working nights so I really don’t get much of a chance to drink, well, anything.” Even on her nights off she played it safe. Plus, with her medications if she had a panic attack after having had a drink, she couldn’t take them and that could prove to be a disaster.
”Well, I wasn’t going to let your eat that awful crap at the college. I went there and remember eating it. Just ew. And it was nice to have the company while your brother was deployed.” That was the hard part about being stationed out in California was that Lexi was away from all her family. Sure Daniel flew in when he could but he had been going to school himself. And her parents had demanding jobs. She really couldn’t do much about that. But Jayce had been there and they kept one another company. It had been fun, especially considering all the things they had in common.
Lexi shrugged. She was by no means a lush with her alcohol but when she felt an awkward moment, she filled it with something. In this instance, chugging a beer. She knew she should eat some more food but she just wasn’t feeling it. She had a second helping of rice but that was it for her. ”I’m confused. I thought you told them I was moving home when I left.” Lexi tilted her head forward, a stern looking coming across her features. ”Jayce…where did you tell your parents I moved to after leaving there?” Her family had property all up and down the east coast so it was easy enough to say she went elsewhere. The paperwork for having Dean declared dead went to her lawyers office so they obviously never had her address but she assumed they knew she was in Maine.
Lexi’s gaze went downwards as she fiddled with the edge of her sweater. ”I was too numb to think about adjusting. I just sort of threw myself into work and when home I just took my sleeping pills and anxiety meds which knocked me out.” Lexi shrugged her shoulders like it was no big deal but she knew it had been. For a year Lexi kept herself comfortably numb though no on really knew it. She kept her happy exterior on as she moved through the motions of her life. One of her award winning smiles went on as she passed the thought over. ”But consider me your tour guide, welcome committee, what have you.” Lexi S eyes were dull a moment but shined with humor as he teased her back. Perhaps it was the beer but she was feeling particularly ready for some good jesting. ”I don’t think you needed to do much more for me to imagine that.” It was true, aside from his bits little was left to the imagination. Now as they joked about it, she did think about it for a moment. Then she felt guilty for thinking that about her dead husband’s brother and moved away from it.
”Are you sure you came to the right town then? With this psycho I feel like bodies are slowly piling up.” Lexi helped him with clearing the dishes and stuck the extra food in the fridge for him to have. She grabbed her beer before she eyed him curiously. ”Aww you planned this all out. How sweet. I guess a movie is one way to repay me for dinner. I was thinking you take me out for ice cream bu I’ll settle.” Lexi’s body settled on the couch next to him as she took another drink of her beer. At this point, Lexi was feeling her beers more then just a little. She set the drink on the coffee table as her eyes lit up. ”Oh I do! ‘m surprised you remembered.” Without thinking about it, Lexi curled up against Jayce’s body to watch the movie. When the alcohol started to take it’s hold on her, she really just went with things. Right now she went with being snuggled up close to Jayce as she pulled her legs up onto the couch. When he shifted his arm so it went behind her, Lexi moved to rest her head against his chest.
This was probably more intimate then she should be acting with him but she didn’t care. She wasn’t trashed but she was just drunk enough her cuddly side was coming out. And Lexi just wanted to be held in general by someone who cared about her but wasn’t a family member. Jayce was family, or had been once, so it didn’t feel as forced. She laid there comfortably as they watched George Bailey went to a dark place and an angel tried to show him the error in his thoughts.

When she spoke up about not having a beer since the cook out he gasped. “Well we will have to get you drinking and having some fun then!” He laughed as he turned around to look at her. It was amazing to see so much life back in her. It was like she had finally moved on and was now going to help others. Well aside from her job as a nurse and helping others already. Thankfully she didn’t have to work tomorrow so they could drink all they wanted tonight and just hang out tomorrow. That was the perfect plan for them!
A laugh escaped his lips as she spoke up about going to the school and not liking the crap they served. “It was amazing to have someone to talk to, hang out with and nerd out with.” They had so many things in common it wasn’t funny. Like when they sat there and played D&D together or got on World of Warcraft and teamed up to help one another out. They had actually become a great team on Wow. It was nice to not be judged for once about the things you like and what you liked to do. Who cared if they liked to go and play these kinds of games?
When the semi-serious but teasing conversation ended he went back to his beer until she spoke up again. She caught him! Oh great! Now he was actually going to have to tell her everything. Was it wrong he lied to his parents about where she moved to? Looking up and into her eyes he sighed. “I told them that you were moving to New York City.” She knew how his parents felt about her and what they thought about her. “If they knew you were here they would have tried to stop e from coming back here.” Was it so wrong that what he needed was someone he knew to be there for him? Someone he was close to and could relate to? He needed that comfort and that person who could just be there.
As she told him about everything he listened intently about what was going on. Nodding in agreement he sighed. “I was forced to take time off because of it. They knew I wasn’t coping well so they thought it was for the best.” He knew exactly where she was coming from on that aspect of just going through the motions of living your life. “Thanks for showing me around.” With a smile he kissed her cheek once more but then it turned into a smirk as she spoke. Gently he poked her side. “Oh really? Sounds like you’ve been picturing what this whole package looks like.” He winked playfully at her .
What was this about a psycho? “I haven’t heard about a psycho. What’s going on?” A laugh escaped him and he looked at her. “How could I forget what kinds of movies you like? We spent a lot of time watching them when we weren’t geeking out.” Laughing he made his way into the living room and took a seat on the recliner couch. When she snuggled up against him he smiled and slipped hi arm behind her allowing her to come and snuggle up to his chest. Casually he pulled the button that extended the foot rest to the chair and pulled her over so they were cuddled pressed one another. Feeling her leg draped over his he reclined back so they were lying down as his fingers moved through her hair. His free hand grabbed his beer and he finished it off then placed his eyes back on the movie as his arms slipped around Lexi cuddling her close to him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- ”What is it with Blackwell men wanting to corrupt me? I was once a very good girl. Never went to parties, let alone drank. Then you two came along and it was like all hell broke loose.” It was true-Dean had gotten Lexi from being so awkward and shy. He really helped her grow to who she was now. Then with Jayce she was able to let her nerdy girl side out. That really balanced things out for her. She had friends she could be herself around and Dean never minded her geeky tendencies but once out in California, she had no one to do those things with. Not that she minded doing things alone-she spent most of her childhood sheltered and alone. She really could adapt to being by herself or with others.
Lexi groaned as one hand went to rub at her forehead. ”Jayce why would you do that? They’re going to be even more pissed when they realized you moved where I’m living. And I don’t feel like having your mother scream at me anymore then she already has.” Why would he screw her over like that? Jayce knew how tense things had become after his brother’s death. Actually, tense was putting it lightly. Things had exploded really. Lexi felt like crap for so long after. It’s what drove her to move away. ”It’s not like you knew back then you’d be moving here so I don’t get why you didn’t tell her I came home.”
All they had seen that week after Dean had gone missing was something from a horror movie. There were bits of boat dragged or flown in and placed on the docks. At one point one piece had caught fire. Everything the Coast Guard had told them just all whirled together after awhile and Lexi shut them out. ”Daniel didn’t want me to return to work but I just couldn’t sit still.” Lexi didn’t need the money but she hated to be idle. It’s why she had no problems helping Jayce pick up the remnants of dinner. She was surprised when he pressed another kiss to her cheek and she eyed him curiously for it. Probably just the fact she was someone familiar.
She laughed as she pretended to think hard. ”You’re right. The jig is up. I have thought about it.” She threw her hands to mock him. ”And it’s really not that impressive.” Lexi could easily throw things off so they weren’t so weird. She ran a hand through her hair as she tilted her head. ”This Avery person? The one who kidnapped the pastor’s daughter and killed the mayor?” Lexi then filled him in on everything going on though kept how Avery was manipulating her a secret. She wasn’t ready to share that with anyone just yet. His look of distaste for the situation was confusing. She would have thought he would’ve heard of it just coming into town. Everyone was talking about it.
”True,” she let out slowly as she made herself comfortable. She had just gotten so when he shifted them again. She groaned lightly in frustration as her concentration was momentarily broken before she adjusted herself. One of Lexi’s legs tangled with Jayce’s. she relaxed as she watched the images flicker over the screen. She had Jayce grab her beer and she pulled away from him just long enough to take the last sip. Her head pulled up to look around, remembering he put the others in some sort of cooler that was a part of the couch. It was on the other side of him.
With a sigh, she pulled out from under his arm and climbed onto his lap. It’d be too much of a bother to have him sit up to get into the arm rest. Her body shifted against his as she lifted his hand off the armrest and placed it half on his stomach, half on her thigh. After she had her beer in hand, she settled back and straightened her body while she opened the can. Lexi eyed Jayce before she laughed. ”You can so tell this is a bachelor pad. I would never allow a couch like this into my home. It is really redneck.” Lexi sipped at her beer, not thinking twice of how she was positioned. Yes, the alcohol had a strong grip on her. Having a half empty stomach and working your third can did that to a girl.

“Oh come on Lexi, there’s nothing wrong with drinking. Besides I know you used to drink like when we were having parties, or well when we were having a family get together.” Laughing he shook his head at her nonsense. She was just being crazy! Laughing he reached over and poked her. “I didn’t corrupt anything missy. All we did was nerd out and enjoy ourselves. It was so much fun by the way. We need to get another game of Dungeons and Dragons going on or something. WoW is getting boring with how we go in and just kill everyone as a team.” It was true; they were a great team in WoW and could take pretty much anyone down.
When she spoke up he reached out and took her free hand in his gently rubbing the back of it. “They won’t get mad at you Lexi. If anything they will get pissed off at me.” He took a deep breath and looked back up when she spoke about not knowing he was going to be moving here back then. Looking down he let go of her hand and then sighed. “If you want to know the truth back then they didn’t ask where you moved to even though I knew where you were going.” Looking out the window at the moon as the light washed over them he looked back up into her eyes. “It was when I was moving they asked where you went to because they didn’t want us to be in the same city. So you see, you’ll be in the clear where I’ll be the one getting yelled at.” He knew how to manipulate his parents with ease.
Reminiscing about what happened after his brother disappeared actually hurt to think about. The one person he knew who actually had his back was gone from this world. Well that was a lie. He could count on Lexi to be there for him too. “I know, he thought you would be a wreck. I don’t blame you for going back to work. It is better to have a distraction than dive into a severe depression.” He had seen it happen to his mother in that year he first went missing. She was depressed her perfect oldest son was gone. Okay, even though he looked up to his brother there was still that sense of spite there. It was like anything he did it wasn’t good enough. So what? Oh Dean went in and joined the service, Jayce became a cop. How could she only be proud of Dean? Did she expect him to follow in Dean’s footsteps? That wasn’t going to happen.
After the kiss to her cheek and talk he looked at her and burst out laughing when she confessed. “I knew it! Such a bad girl!” He teased. When she said it wasn’t that impressive he gasped and poked her then spoke up in a joking voice. “Maybe one day you’ll see and judge for real then.” His face was serious for only a second before he burst out laughing. When she spoke up about Avery his eyes went wide. “That’s the person who is doing all of this? Good god what has this place come to?” Okay maybe he hadn’t paid that much attention to the news in the first place.
When she groaned because he changed the way they were cuddled made him smile. His hand gently stroking her side as she got comfy again and tangled her leg up with his. Gently his other leg came in and trapped it between his. When she looked up and around after finishing her beer he looked at her puzzled. What was she looking for? He was about to ask until he realized what she was doing. What the hell? She was straddling him? Oh this wasn’t going to end up good! As she wiggled and moved on his lap he blushed as he felt a problem starting to happen. When she moved his arm and placed his hand on her thigh and part of his stomach he gasped to himself. “Well I am single with no one to decorate for me.” Sticking his tongue out his other hand moved to rest like the one she placed on her thigh was. Slowly he moved his hands so his thumbs were rubbing dangerously close to someplace forbidden. His focus was fully off the movie and trying to distract her from his own issue she was giving him.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- ”I’m not saying there is anything wrong with drinking. I just never really get a chance to do so anymore.” Lexi poked back at Jayce before she put her hand on her hip then rested all her weight on the leg attached to that hip. ”Oh? You didn’t corrupt me? You’re the one who told me about World of Warcraft and now I’m addicted. And now you’re encouraging me to drink and have fun. You, Jayce Blackwell, are a corrupter.” Lexi shrugged her shoulders upwards. ”Maybe Daniel will let you play D&D with us. Just, don’t tell Leila. She doesn’t know about my dear cousin’s little obsession.” The house as so large they could easily have their game and no one would even know! Plus, the set up was in Lexi’s little “geek room” so it was really out of sight as Leila never came in there.
Lexi shook her head. Jayce may knew some of the problems between her and his parents but it went so deep. He didn’t know half the arguments they had together. She understood they were hurt but Lexi didn’t make Dean take his boat out with an impending storm! He did that of his own free will. ”I doubt you’ll be the only one getting yelled at but we’ll drop it and cross that bridge when needed.” As if her husband going missing, then being declared dead, wasn’t hard enough on the poor girl his parents had only made things much worse. It’s part of the reasons why she went back to work-so she didn’t have to think of losing her child, losing her husband and now being hated by her former in-laws. Otherwise she might go completely insane.
Lexi laughed, glad to be able to have some fun though she probably shouldn’t be joking in such a way with Jayce because of their connection. The laughter was nice to break up the two tense conversation. ”Well, there were two people but they caught one. They thought the caught the main person but after the accidents following the wedding, they realized they were wrong.” Lexi wasn’t particularly close to anyone else who had been effected. Except with everything that happened after the wedding she sort of had to handle that situation so that Daniel and Leila could enjoy their honeymoon. That had been fun. Not.
Jayce’s fingers in her hair and then along her sides relaxed her and made her tense all at once. Not noticeably tense but she felt awkward because of how he made her feel. Which, she wasn’t even sure how that was. She did know she liked it. Part of her drive for her third beer. She needed to a little more of the alcohol to relax her more so she wouldn’t think about how weird things were. Her fingers flicked it open as she rolled her eyes. ”Well now you have someone with a sense of taste to help you out.” As she tilted her head back to take a drink of her beer she began aware of his issue pressing against her and the placement of his hands along her upper thighs. Way upper thighs. Lexi debated with herself in her mind as to what she did but just continued to drink her beer after she drew in some air. Lexi…liked what Jayce was doing. His hands against her thighs and feeling him pressed between her stirred desire in her. Long ago Lexi had locked down lustful thoughts for anyone but slowly they were coming out and Jayce was filling them.
Lexi curled her hand so her beer was held close to her a moment. She watched him as he focused on the movie. Feeling particularly bold-and yet nervous as well-Lexi leaned forward. She nuzzled herself against Jayce’s neck as she thrust her hips just slightly to egg his hands closer to where she craved him to touch. This was not normal Lexi but the beer, the playfulness shared with Jayce and the fact it had been so long overtook all rational thoughts. Alcohol did have that effect on people after al.

Clutching his side as he laughed he looked up at her and shook his head. “I can take the blame for getting you into World of Warcraft but the fact you continued is all on you.” Okay he was to blame for that addiction. It was good she was addicted though! It was something they could do together and have fun with. “Didn’t you ever just want to let loose and have a beer?” It was nice that they could just be together and drink. There was nothing to worry about. Well then again the fact he had seen how cuddly she could get might be a small issue. Not like there was anything to worry about in the end. If it was anything it would only be cuddling. “Sweet! Next time you play I’ll tag along.” Playing D&D together would be a great way to get to open up to everyone again.
Why didn’t he just straight up tell his parents he was going to move to the town Lexi was in? He should have done it and just gotten that yelling over with. Did he care anymore? No. Not as long as he was with someone that he could get along with and actually talk to. “I hope we will never have to cross that bridge. I mean we are friends and they know that.” Not like they had anything to worry about? They were really good friends who knew how to have fun and just hang out.
The way they were teasing and having fun made him happy. It was a way to lighten the mood and keep things fun. The seriousness about this Avery person was worry some. The fact that there were two people and they had captured the wrong one was a big issue. “I wonder how many people are getting on this? I bet it won’t be too long before they call in the feds to come help with this.” This person sounded like they were dangerous and were to be taken very seriously. The fact there had been someone working with them made him wonder if there were more than just the one.
As they lay together cuddled up on the couch he could feel the change in her body as she tensed up a little bit while he stroked her tender sides. When she straddled him and they started forgetting more and more about the movie he nodded his head. “You can help me redecorate then!” He laughed as his thumbs continued to stroke her inner thighs. This was getting so dangerous. His eyes widened in shock as she leaned forward and nuzzled into his neck. A small smile crossed his lips as he realized she was just getting cozy on him. What worried him most was if she felt his issue that was going on.
When her hips thrust forward he felt them hit his issue and he gasped silently in content. That was unexpected. Feeling how much further his hands moved up he took the hint and slowly moved the up more. His fingers found the button to her pants and he unfastened it then pulled the zipper down. Leaning in he started placing kisses on her neck as he slipped his hand inside of her pants. His fingers coming into contact with the wet fabric that was protecting her from his fingers as he started to rub. His free hand moving up under her sweater as he kissed her neck gently tugging it up letting her know to take it off.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- ”Of course I’d like she just have a beer and not really give a fuck but I’ve had too much responsibility. Especially lately. I was helping Leila and Daniel with the wedding, I do most of the cooking in the house, on top of working nine to twelve hours and doing some babysitting on the side. Really-I don’t have time to drink.” Lexi’s life was just a chaotic mess. The few spare hours she had she usually spent relaxing with WoW or playing D&D with Daniel for her geek things. The rest of the time she read-a lot. Maybe with the wedding behind her cousin, Lexi could take a bit of a breather. ”We usually play on Thursdays. Have you seen your schedule yet?”
”Yeah and I bet they have a few things to say about us being friends.” Lexi really wasn’t trying to be cruel just she was deeply hurt by how they treated her now. Once upon a time they all got along. Lexi just wished she could go back to that but there was no way to bring their eldest son back. So Lexi was stuck, probably for the rest of her life, knowing they hated her. ”I hope so. A few people died after the incident the night of the wedding. It was horrific. I had to work because it was all hands on deck.” Lexi shivered at the thought. There was so much blood and so many people who needed attention. And poor Oliver that night...
”Ok I’ll help if you make me dinner next time.” The way the two were talking to one another it was sounding more and more like they were setting up dates. And how Lexi was letting him knead at her flesh through her jeans wasn’t helping the situation at all. After going about two-and-a-half years without another’s hands on her, Lexi was already feeling warm with excitement. She knew Jayce wanted it to. She could tell between the bulge that pressed against her and the way his hands, particularly his thumbs, caressed her. Lexi wanted more.
Her eyes drifted shut as her slowly moved to undo her jeans. Her breathing was already slightly heavy and she drew in a sharp breath as she felt his fingers against her panties. Lexi sat motionless as she lulled her head to the side to allow Jayce’s lips to explore the columns of her throat. The feeling of his hand along her skin caused her to arch her back, her soft body pressing into his more. When he wanted her sweater off, Lexi sat herself up. Lust filled her eyes as she slowly, tauntingly, undid each button of her sweater and then pulled it off. The outline of the lace on her bra pressed against the thin fabric of her t-shirt before she puleld it up over her head. Lexi let a soft moan out before she moved back down to Jayce. This time she didn’t nuzzle against him. This time she allowed her lips to crash into his, her tongue seeking entrance as she moaned against his lips. His fingers were working her up very quickly. Her body was already wanting release as he quickened his pace.

Listening to how her days were spent he looked her over and shook his head. “You really are stressed and working too much. It looks like I’m going to have to fix that for you. Ease your schedule up this way you’re not so busy. Unless you like doing all of this work?” He thought about everything they could do to go out and have fun to ease the stress up that was part of her life. When she told him that they played on Thursdays he smiled and nodded his head. “I normally have Thursday, Friday and Saturday off.” Now this was a good schedule that he was going to have to keep now.
“They probably would have something to say against us being friends but I honestly don’t care what they would say. They can’t control my life.” She was his friend and there was nothing anyone on the planet could do to pull them apart. He couldn’t help but like being friends with her because they had so much in common. As she told him what happened at the wedding and all the accidents his eyes widened. How could someone be that sick? It sounded disgusting! “Someone really needs to go and stop this person. I hope they put me on it so I can help find out who this sick freak is.” They would be punished for this!
When she made the counter offer he looked her over and then smiled. “We have a deal!” He was going to cook for her and she would help him redecorate. The way they were talking it sounded more like they were about to have a date than just hang out. Was it that wrong? Not at all!
As his fingers worked her flesh he sighed in content that she wasn’t stopping it. He really wanted her now and he could tell that something in her flipped a switch and she wanted him too. As the bulge in his pants grew he gasped as he started to rub it against her. Hearing her breathe as he undid her pants he smiled knowing she wasn’t going to stop him. As her head moved to the side he started kissing and sucking on her neck. When he pulled away an angry red hickey stuck out against her flesh as he moved to the other side of her neck. Seeing her lean back he looked up into her eyes and noticed they were filled with lust. Now they were past the point of no return. Desire filled his eyes as he locked his eyes to hers.
Seeing her lace purple bra he growled playfully as she leaned in smashing her lips to his. His mouth opened as he allowed her access into it. His tongue clashing with hers in a hot passion filled kiss. As they moved against one another he moved the lace fabric to the side and gave her what she wanted a low gasp left his lips as he felt her against his fingers.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the girl in the moon --- Lexi shrugged as her eyes went downcast. ”My family has needed me. I haven’t been able to ignore that.” Lexi had always had a strong sense of family. Daniel had been there for her when she needed him most. Of course she’d be there for him in return. And now, in turn, for his wife. Lexi was becoming close with Leila so it was all working out beautifully. Plus, she’d be able to help out after the baby came. Lexi planned to adjust her work schedule so she could have the days Leila had classes off. Then she’d take care of her little niece. ”Well I’ll tell Daniel you’ll be joining us. Leila’s little brother also comes to play. He is adorable.” The sixteen year old boy was such a sweetheart and Lexi loved when he came around to hang out.
Lexi was glad he was standing behind his convictions of them being friends but she really did worry. Lexi didn’t want anymore ill feelings then there already were. ”Jayce, they’re your family. Nothing is more important then family.” She nodded her head before she shrugged slightly. ”There’s tons of articles about him or her. Plus the whole police force is on it so I’m sure you will be too.” Laughter left her mouth as he agreed to help with decorating his place. He really had no idea how crazy she could get with her shopping. She had gone crazy after finding out Daniel’s wife was having a girl. The newlywed couple would be in for a surprise, that’s for sure.
The friction of their bodies rubbing together aroused Lexi as he moved against her while he fumbled with undoing her jeans. A groan escaped as he marked her though she didn’t know that yet. All she was aware was how good his lips, teeth and tongue felt against her hot skin. She wanted hi lips to move elsewhere along her body. Especially as she began to remove her clothing as she straddled him. Her hips grinded against his hand and his bulge. A shiver of pleasure went down her spine as she moved to press her body flush to his once again.
When his fingers met her bare, sensitive flesh Lexi began to squirm. It felt so good to have him egging her to the peak of her arousal. Lexi could barely focus on their passionate kisses as her hands went up to cusp either side of his face. In fact as she felt her body tense with her impending completion, she pulled away. Her hands moved to tangle in his hair as her muscles clenched then relaxed. The sounds as she came down from her moment filled the room. Her breathing was heavy as she tried to steady it. Lexi pressed her forehead to his before she went to press a slew of tender pecks down his nose until she recaptured his lips in a soft kiss. Lexi slowly deepened it, savoring the moment. After a few moments she pulled away and looked up through her lashes at Jayce. Her voice was soft and breathless. ”I want you Jayce.” Lexi truly did want him. She wanted his hands to travel along her covers and his lips tasting every inch of her skin. She wanted to run her hands along the planes of his figure as they built one another up and then went over the edges of their ardor.
