No, technically it was an actual ballroom. This was so weird to her. Just a week ago she had been living in a four bedroom two bath with her four brothers and parents. Now she was living with Daniel in his house by the ocean as well as spent an occassional night at his grandparent's house. Which is where the New Year's Eve Charity Ball to raise money for the public schools was being held-his grandparent's house. It was massive and she was constantly getting lost. Well at least she had plenty of time to get used to it. Between them getting married and the fact she had stopped working. Yes, she hated it but her and Daniel had talked it over. It was just exhausting her too much. Which is also why she was taking all her college courses online. Right now she was just getting the basics done so there was no reason for her to actually go to the college. She could get the core stuff down and be able to rest at home. Hell, she didn’t even have to leave her pajamas or her bed if she was feeling particularly crummy! That and she could enjoy her pregnancy without rushing around.
The next two months would be crazy for her. She had a wedding to plan on top of school and being pregnant. Already wedding plans were well underway along with all this craziness of the Charity Ball. Now that she was engaged to Daniel technically she was a cohost along with his grandparents. The money was going to the public schools but since it was at his-no their- house she was helping out. Just she had never done this before but now was the time to get used to it. She placed her left hand which had her engagement ring on it over her stomach. She had to rush to buy a new gown for tonight to accommodate her new measurements. No her stomach wasn’t far out but she did look like she had put on a couple pounds. That and her boobs were already getting huge. Between those two things she had to go up a whole dress size. Enough to even everything out, especially since she had a ball gown. The small stomach she had going on just disappeared. That wouldn’t last long, especially with her nausea nearly gone and her appetite rapidly increasing. Hopefully she wouldn’t increase too much before the wedding. She already felt like it was a shotgun wedding with her being pregnant, she didn’t need to be wearing an awful maternity wedding gown. She actually wanted something she would like to wear.
When Daniel’s grandmother came up beside her Leila’s nerves eased. She helped to make sure Leila’s dress was smoother out and adjusted the bow in the back. The jewelry she wore aside from her engagement ring was made of gorgeous rose gold and smoky quartz with diamonds. All one of many presents from Daniel which happened to match her dress perfectly. He had already been spoiling her over the last couple months and in the last week it had gotten worse. All she did was make a comment about how only two pairs of jeans fit and even those were tight. Next thing she knew his grandmother was taking Leila to a ton of maternity stores to get clothing for her to wear as she got larger. All with Daniel’s credit card. That along with this new dress. She honestly felt guilty about it but he found ways to ease her mind about it. And if that didn’t work well, he had other ways to persuade her. Usually that worked well enough as he would exhaust her until she gave in to whatever new trinket he got or in that case a whole new wardrobe.
With her arm laced with his grandmother’s, the two women made their way down the staircase. Her strappy black pumps peeked out form underneath with each step. Her left hand encircled the clutch she had as they descended. Once at the bottom the two women went about greeting people, introducing donors with members of the school board or even teachers. Hey she might as well be useful. Especially since she didn’t see any of her family or Daniel yet.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i48.tinypic.com/4v3fjd.png);] I would lie & say that you're not on my mind... Haven was already not impressed with how her evening was going.
She had been looking forward to this for over a month. Even more so once Kylie said she was designing Haven a gown. She had the perfect colors picked out and Haven got lovely accent pieces. Pearl and diamond drop earrings, a diamond cuff bracelet and some gorgeous stilettos she had been dying to wear for awhile. Her and Clark would ring in the New Year together as they danced together and now her sister would be there too. It was supposed to be perfect. Just like the prom Haven had never gotten.
But it had quickly gone downhill.
First, she went to the salon for a trim and to have her feather hair extensions removed. Clark hated them so there was no use in keeping the feathers but was upset she had waited. Then he announced he’d be leaving on New Year’s Day instead of a couple days later to go back to Augusta. Fine, she figured she could deal with those two things. They got ready for he evening and headed out shortly after Cameron and Kylie did. That’s where another fight had erupted. They seemed to be doing it all the time no matter what Haven did. Today he thought she should have tried to cover up the tattoo between her shoulders before going out. What did he expect her to do? Use a whole bottle of concealor and pray it didn’t run if she began to sweat? Then brought up the discussion of having it and her other one on her hip removed. Didn’t he like anything about her anymore? Before he found those things about her sexy. Now over the last two months it seemed like everything he had claimed to love about her he had suddenly hated. Still, Haven held her resolve and said it wasn’t a discussion for tonight. Haven was a donor at the Charity Ball so she had to get there. She gave Clark the option of staying behind if he was so unhappy but no, he wanted to talk to Jude’s father. As they drove she just stared out her window. Now she wished Louis had ignored her and visited her sometime these past two weeks.
Whoa-that thought came from no where. She had done well in building her walls back up. She no longer wanted him near her and knew if he came back she could handle it. Haven knew it. She was normally good at locking her feelings away just he had taken her by surprise with showing up. Now that she knew he was back in Maine she spent her time figuring out ways to not fall back into his charming ways. No matter how much he begged she was engaged to Clark. She may be miserable but she figured it was the stress of his job and having Kylie move in. Once things at work calmed down she was bound to get the man she loved back. That’s what she kept convincing herself.
As soon as they arrived he was off to find the Winslets. All Haven could do was sigh and reach for a glass of champagne which she downed and returned to a tray. After she carefully moved across the floor with a false smile pasted on her face. Both hands clasped her black clutch in front of her nervously as she stopped to talk to a few people. An elegant side bun kept all but a few loose strands back. Her onyx eye make-up was flawless as was the cover up to hide what was left of her dark circles. Her sleeping pills were helping a lot with her sleep issues but she still had a lot of sleep to catch up on. Louis was in her dreams more often which sent her tossing and turning. When she awoke she’d slid out of the bed, silent so not to disturb Clark and just go downstairs to think. There were moments she wondered if she was making the right decision being with Clark. Then she thought over the reasons why she should and shouldn’t be with Louis. Honestly she had no idea that he wouldn’t just split on her again. Even if she knew he was staying in his music career what if they had another blow out about something major. Like marriage or kids? Would he just run and never contact her again. Haven couldn’t take that. It was just too hard on her,
He had left her just like everyone else in her life. She could no longer trust a soul to stay around because of him. She knew she still loved him but she could never trust him again if they were to be together. She no longer wanted a life with him because that trust and the faith she had in them surviving anything was gone. Haven did hope that one day they could be friends. Just right now, as long as he kept asking for her to “come back to him” as he so often put it she couldn’t do it. It was just too hard for her to handle.
With a sharp breath in she grabbed another flute of champagne but sipped at this one. After the wine and waterworks fiasco Jesse had walked in on she was very careful with her alcoholic drinks. Haven normally didn’t drink her sorrows away but that night had been, shall we saw, a unique situation. Tonight she would be a lot more careful as she had to talk about where the money she was donating was going. Haven wanted to remember that. Someone from school board along with his wife stopped to talk to Haven which was a welcome distraction from everything else going on around them. She didn’t even notice a very familiar face come into the Zakarian ballroom. Haven was honestly having too good of a time talking about some new programs the school wanted to start and catching up with the couple in general.

Post by LOUIS ARDEN FITCH on Feb 13, 2013 22:41:00 GMT -5
Louis had not planned to go to the charity ball. In fact he had planned to stay far, far away from Hope Harbor from now on, unless Haven asked him to come, which didn't seem very likely at all. They had parted badly for the third time in their history and it would seem the last. This was both heart breaking and maddening and it was of course, all Louis' fault. Nothing he could do, no amount of "making up" could change this fact. He'd screwed it all up and that was that.
It happened however, that Louis Fitch did attend the charity ball, purely for the reason of performing. One of the event coordinators had found out he was staying in Portland with his family for a time and asked if he'd be willing to perform a few songs at the event. They thought it would draw in an even bigger crowd. For a charity....in his home state...how could he refuse? No matter what the state of his personal life and all that, he felt he had to do this show. Turning down a charity event was just a jerky thing to do. And while Louis had done things that were "jerky", it wasn't a word that defined his overall character.
Louis had selected 5 songs to perform. The set would go about 45 minutes. He had wanted to choose a few songs he had written for Haven. But after a long and very tempting debate within himself, he decided against it. Clark would no doubt be there with her, and it would just make her more agitated. Plus he was keeping in the back of his mind, what the guy at the bar had said. Louis just had to focus on being Haven's friend and let everything else fall in to place. He just hoped that it would indeed.
Arriving at the event location, he admired it from his car. Getting out he grabbed his guitar and gave the key the to valet parking attendant. Stopping at the door, he gave his name to the guest list attendant and was thence admitted into the residence. Louis made his way to the ballroom, which was surprisingly ornate. He went to the stage and secured a safe place for his guitar, before going to get a drink. Louis wouldn't be going on until much later in the evening, so he did have to be careful how much he drank. Not that he was in the habit of getting sloshed, but no one wanted some rich lush up there slurring their words, with or without a guitar, famous, infamous, or otherwise.
As Louis sipped his drink, a vodka tonic, he saw Haven over the edge of his cup. She looked radiant, though a little less than happy, and she took his breath away as was the usual procedure when he saw her. Louis wanted to approach her, take her in his arms, kiss her. But he couldn't. He couldn't even talk to her, for fear that she'd flip, or that it would ruin her life. So he kept his head low, pretended not to notice she was there, and walked in the opposite direction of where she stood.

Post by RUBY-GRACE MCPHERSON on Feb 13, 2013 23:13:11 GMT -5
Ruby-Grace McPherson was a sweet girl with a big heart. Some said too big. Some said too trusting. Some said too naive and some said too tolerant. But they were right to. Because they had seen Ruby-Grace suffer for her big, sweet, trusting, naive, tolerant heart. Ruby had spent some years in college with man...no...coward, by the name of Jeff. Jeff had seemed a rather sweet guy and was at first. But after he'd gotten comfortable in their relationship, Jeff had gotten verbally, mentally, and physically abusive towards dear Ruby. She'd been scared to leave him, for fear of what he'd do to her or her brother. Also, because she thought she could change him. One of the most common misconceptions that girls in her situation fell into. The relationship ended when the neighbors finally called the cops because they could hear her frantic screams for help. Jeff had beat her within an inch of her life that night. Though it took some time, Ruby-Grace made a full physically recovery, but mentally she's never been the same.
Oh she's not crazy, no. It's just that, since the whole incident, Ruby had been rather insecure. When she was alone walking through a store, or to her car when she worked late at school, she often thought she heard footsteps behind her and Jeff's voice, whispering her name. She'd turn around to find no one was there, but it always gave her chills anyway. Many nights she was still plagued with nightmares. Often times her brother, whom she still lived with, out of fear of living on her own, would come in and wake her and tell her everything was going to be okay.
Despite all this, Ruby had really made something of herself. She'd finished school and had become the music teacher at the local middle school. Ruby loved her music and she loved sharing it with the children in the community. Nothing gave her greater joy than seeing the faces of the young children light up when she taught them something new in music and they were actually able to accomplish it. Ruby was sure had one of the most satisfying jobs on the planet.
Tonight was an exciting night. It was the night of the Charity Ball. Ruby really hadn't want to go at first to be honest. But she was a teacher and the charity was for the school, so she kind of had to go. Ruby would have felt much more comfortable about all of it, if her brother could have accompanied her, but he had to work that evening and couldn't get out of it. However, as the time grew nearer, and she found the perfect dress and an adorable pair of polka dot shoes. She found herself getting rather excited about the whole the thing. There were few things Ruby enjoyed more (job aside), then stepping out in a brand new pair of shoes. She had found that a new pair of shoes, could give one a whole new perspective on their day, if not life as a whole.
Arriving at the Zakarian residence, the very perceptive Ruby could feel the excitement in the air and it gave her own little chill of anticipation at what would go on this evening. One never knew what would happen at such an event. Ruby LOVED to dance, all different kinds. Modern, ECD, Tap, Swing, she did it all. And though she wasn't necessarily looking for love, the great Jane Austen had said "To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love".

Post by OLIVER SEBASTIAN WELCOTT on Feb 14, 2013 9:35:23 GMT -5
Oliver wasn't big on social gatherings these days. He had been so at one point, but he had been a different person that. A more, whole person. In his younger days, not that he was old now, back in his home city of jolly old London England, he'd been quite the social butterfly. He and his younger brother Tristan had attended all the respectable parties and moved in the highest circles. They were two of the most eligible bachelors in the country, next to princes William and Harry of course, (this would be prior to the royal wedding), of whom they were very well acquainted with. Though they didn't always approve of their lavish behavior, they quite enjoyed frequent jaunts to the palace for this or that occasion. They even had occasion to meet the King and Queen. Of course Prince Charles and Camilla were there, but Oliver especially didn't approve of the two of them. Though he never voiced that opinion.
In med school, Oliver had met and married a truly wonderful woman. She wasn't girl of his dreams though. Because she was better than any girl he could ever have dreamed up in his little pea brain. But their time together was cut severely short, when she died of a heart condition. The only thing they could have done to save her, was a heart transplant and she'd been on all the lists. But they were years long, and she hadn't been able to hold on that long. This had been a blow to Oliver, it would have been to any man that truly loved his wife, but the impact was even worse, as he was a heart surgeon and hadn't been able to save her.
This is what had changed dear Oliver Welcott. He went from being a social butterfly and everyone's best friend, to closing everyone and everything out and becoming a total recluse over night. He even quit the job he had worked so very hard to get, and moved away from his once beloved England, here to Hope Harbor, Maine. There had been no reason he'd chosen the town, accept for the fact that it was small and he thought the residents would leave him be. Oh but he was so wrong. For their was a woman...a VERY determined woman, by the name of Brooklyn Sawyer who and shoved and pushed and poked and prodded, until she'd pulled Oliver back out of that shell. Not completely mind you. But he had reached the point where he would go out on occasion and socialize with a very few people. And he was to start working again, at the hospital here in Hope Harbor. They were understaffed and in need of his services.
When he had received the invitation for the Charity Ball, he'd almost tossed it in the trash. But he stopped, for some unknown reason, and asked himself what his wife, Lilian, and his brother Tristan, and his Gran, and his best friend, Brooklyn, would want him to do. And here he was, looking so very dapper in his fine tweed suit and of course bow tie, as was so very fond of them. Oliver was nervous to say the least, but felt almost as if he could conquer the world, though he wasn't quite cheery. He was glad that Brooklyn had gone after Tristan, who was in London performing tonight, but he wished they had both been here to attend with him. Then he wouldn't have been quite so nervous. The night would prove itself to be an adventure, he was absolutely sure. ___________________________________________________________________________ Outfit PURR! whatever you want here--} ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂Willow was more than excited, she was ecstatic. She was sure to meet some of her friends here at the party but more importantly she was getting a night off. They were so far and few in between, especially since she had been on winter vacation. All her time was consumed by her daughter.
But tonight, tonight was different. She got a babysitter, wished her daughter a good night, tucked her in and left in her fancy get-up. It was nice to let loose and relax once in awhile. She would dance and eat cute little food. Maybe she would run into some of her friends but that was simply a bonus. If she was really lucky, maybe she would meet a guy. Then again, she wouldn't have time to see him again so it was a silly idea on her part.
She stepped into the building, heels clicking on the floor as she glanced around, amazed at the decorations. This was for charity too, which was always a plus. She could have fun and feel good about helping people.Especially since the fundraiser was for the schools which meant she might just be able to keep her job for another year. She could drink to that. Nothing could spoil this night for her. Nothing.
Across the sea of people, she slowly managed to pick out her friends and coworkers and decided to make her rounds. It would be nice to surprise them since she had to turn down a lot of their invitations recently to hang out. Sometimes being a single mom left her with a heavy heart. But never would she trade anything for her daughter, she loved her more than life itself, it was just tiring chasing her around all the time. ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂

Post by maverick on Feb 14, 2013 11:12:58 GMT -5
Maverick had no particular reason for being at the party. His business was going good and overall he was pleasantly happy with life. He just loved parties and any excuse to dress up and advertise his work. His roommate and best friend Bella had convinced him, none too hard, to be her date. They went as friends of course because she was missing something important.
Bella said she would see him in awhile and had left to go visit her college friends, leaving him alone and feeling like a wallflower. Maverick didn't mind though, Bella was young and full of so much potential that she deserved to enjoy herself before life caught up to her. He wandered around the edge of the crowd, keeping to himself as he sought out a drink. He would need one to have fun.
He hadn't lived in Maine for too many years, having moved from Texas he was quite a way from home, hoping to unite with his half sister. To which he had yet to do. Maverick hadn't told anyone why he had moved there. Not the real reason at least. He couldn't bring himself to involve anyone in their odd family issues. Not that Catalina knew about their odd family issues. She had her own life and didn't want to upturn it for his own selfish reasons. Which was why no one knew the truth.
Life in Maine was odd, he found. He didn't really fit in but he didn't really stick out too much. Sometimes he felt like the only gay guy in Hope Harbor but statistically that had to be untrue. He was extremely popular with the ladies but that was probably because he didn't seem gay at first. Especially since guys were dressing metrosexual nowadays. So he had plenty of girlfriends. It didn't help that he owned a fashion boutique where he made his own clothes. It made him extremely popular.
So here he was, trying to figure out what his New Year resolution was going to be this year. Probably the same one he had last year, and the year before that... To tell Catalina the truth, to find out what having a sister was like, to find love and maybe become a well known fashion designer. He was hoping for a lot... at least that's what he thought.

Post by DANIEL MARCUS ZAKARIAN on Feb 14, 2013 12:50:54 GMT -5
New Years Eve! It was not something he expected to sneak up on him so fast but it had. The fact that he had offered to host the charity ball had made this past week so stressful. Thankfully he had closed down his practice so he could focus on the holidays and if anyone really needed him they could call his emergency cell phone. The house was still decorated for Christmas even though it was already over but hey, who really took down their decorations the day after Christmas? The fact that the ball room had a large Christmas tree still decorated inside of it was evidence that the Christmas spirit was still alive even tonight.
When people started to finally arrive he had the butler show them through the house to the ball room and told them where the restrooms were if needed. The night was perfect! He made sure that his fiancé had been showered with gifts and was ready for tonight. By what he had seen of her dress for the night she looked more beautiful than ever! He was so excited that she had said yes to marrying him. Soon they would be married and then everything else would be behind them. Standing in their bedroom he finished getting ready as he heard the orchestra playing slow music for anyone who wanted to dance right now. The DJ would be playing the rest of the music for the night when it wasn’t slow get close and dance with your loved one music.
Walking down the hall he spotted his grandfather who pulled him into the study for a quick chat before the ball actually began. Normal business things that ended up with him really excited with some news to tell Leila when they ran into one another soon.
Making his way out of the study they finally arrived in the grand ball room. Looking from on top of the balcony he spotted his grandmother with Leila and smiled at how beautiful she was. She really was picture perfect. No one would take his girl from him. Scanning the crowd he didn’t see any of her family yet or even his parents. His mother was probably off with hers discussing wedding plans for the two. Walking down the stairs and onto the ball floor he greeted people and shook hands. All of this was for the public schools. Even his family had been generous to donate a nice sum of money to the school.
As he finally caught up to Leila he slipped his arms around her middle resting his hands on her belly feeling the small bump. “I have something to tell you later tonight.” A smile played on his lips as he moved and placed a kiss to her cheek greeting the woman that they had been talking to then giving his own grandmother a hug and kiss on the cheek. His hand reached down and took hold of her free one as he looked to the dance floor. “Would you care to dance, love?”

[atrb=border, 0, true][atrb=style, width: 420px; background-color: #A9B1B9; border: 10px #1B2836 solid]it‘s amazing, you save me
Cameron had felt bad when him and Kylie left Haven alone with Clark. The two had been having a hushed argument though it didn’t go over. The pig was probably leaving tomorrow to go be with some other woman. It was disgusting and heartbreaking. Tonight Cameron would finally tell Kylie what he knew just after they had enjoyed some time together. Since he was representing the hospital he had taken the time with his outfit including a bowtie. His hair was slicked back with the help of some men’s hair products and he felt good about himself. Actually, since Christmas he had felt fairly good about himself. He thought things went well with Kylie’s parents and he had some good grounds with Haven now. Plus his Christmas Eve with Kylie had been very memorable. Yes, memorable was the best word.
Whenever he thought of that afternoon a lopsided grin formed on his face and desire grew in him again. No it wasn’t just about the lustful side of things. It had been much more that night with them. They had made love. It was heated yet tender as they explored one another’s bounds. After they spent the time curled up in his bed aside from when they exchanged gifts. Even then no clothes were required. After she spent the night though she had to leave fairly early to go get ready. Then he went to Haven’s to help her set up while Kylie picked up her parents. He offered to go with her but the three had a lot to talk about privately. Now her parents were back in Chicago and it was back to the two of them just enjoying one another’s company in body, mind and heart.
Once they came up to the Zakarian mansion he went to open the door for Kylie. With her arm through his he led her into the extravagant home. No, it was more a mansion. A mansion right on the outskirts of Hope Harbor. Their warmer coats were taken before they were led into the ballroom. Some Christmas decorations were still up, including a tree, but it made it kind of fun. Heck, his tree was still up but looked dull compared to the decorations here. Cameron leaned words Kylie and pressed his lips to the part of her head just above her ear. ”Do you want to dance before I get bombarded about donating?” The staff who wasn’t wealthy enough to donate a large sum on their own had pooled together to get a good chunk together. There was a little over three hundred dollars. Not a lot but hopefully it would help. Plus, it’d reflect well on the hospital for when they did fundraisers.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i48.tinypic.com/4v3fjd.png);] I would lie & say that you're not on my mind... Haven’s night started to get better as she talked to the couple before her. They not only chatted about the school and it’s programs but also Haven’s shop the upcoming Zakarian-Scott wedding. Yes, the mothers of the couple had already scheduled an appointment with Haven to get the flower arrangements figured out. Something like that should make her more eager to plan her own wedding and in some sense she was. In another sense she wasn’t and probably wouldn’t be until Clark was done working in Augusta. Then he could stay home for good and the two could really connect again. Him spending a good chunk of each month in the capital just seemed to be taking a toll on him and their relationship. At least that’s how Haven kept justifying it to anyone who brought up his behavior. Being a lawyer was stressful after all as was running your own business in Haven’s case. They just both had a lot going on so their tempers were short.
Once the three were done chatting the couple walked away and Haven took another small sip of her drink. She stepped out of the way of some people as they passed by while she felt slightly out of place. While she stood there a conversation behind her caught her attention. ’Yeah they got that singer to play tonight. Louis something.’ ’Oh the one from Maine! I didn’t know he was currently playing. I read he was taking a little time off.’ Haven’s head had been turned slightly in the direction of the group that was chatting. Her chin was resting slightly on her shoulder while shallow breathes were drawn in and out. Haven hadn’t this. She thought she’d be fine seeing him again but it still hurt knowing he was here. She just wanted the to be friends and it seemed like it would be impossible. Haven was able to lock away the bit of love she still had for him but Louis seemed unable to do so. He showed that with how he kept begging for her forgiveness.
Which...
”Shit, was muttered under her breath as she set the half empty glass of champagne on a small table that was close by. One hand grasped at her clutch while the other gathered up some of her dress so she wouldn’t step on it while she walked at a somewhat brisk pace. First she went near the stage where a DJ was currently playing music. She saw his guitar set up there but no Louis in sight. She moved to the edge of the crowd to scan in an attempt to find that familiar visage. Finally she caught sight of him, his suit casual which was very much him. Louis had never been one for stuff suits. They even joked when they got married she’d have to bribe him to wear one. Well at least she knew she wouldn’t have to do that with Clark. He wore suits more often then anything else so a suit or tuxedo would be nothing new. Tonight was a perfect example of that.
She moved around the groups of people until she got to Louis side. Seeing as he was near some people her hand looped around his elbow in an attempt to pull him along with her. Only once near a place where there were few people did Haven turn to him. The look on her face wasn’t anger or joy but panic. ”What songs are you playing tonight?” There were a couple he had released which she knew were about her or them in general. Those were mainly from his first two albums which she knew of because she had known those songs. The rest Haven was still in serious denial were about her because then it would mean Louis really had missed her this whole time. One night she really thought over some of them and thought that’s what he was saying but then convinced herself that wasn’t the case. Haven was really good at convincing herself of things that weren’t the truth. Things like Louis never really loved her, that she would be happy once married to Clark and that everyone leaving was always her fault. At one point Louis had started to change her way of thinking but that had quickly changed with him leaving her life.

Post by DOMINIC ELI BANES on Feb 14, 2013 16:51:53 GMT -5
dominic didn't get out much, aside from his job. it was his choice really, though, because he could hire a babysitter more often. but he didn't want his three year old daughter, everleigh, to be raised by a babysitter. no, he wanted to raise her himself, so he usually turned down offers to parties or go clubbing. dominic was afraid he'd miss all those little moments when she was being cuter than usual. this just so happened to be a week when he didn't have his daughter with him. she was with her mother, and would be for the next week as well. it gave him a break, which he appreciated, though he missed her. so he'd decided to come to the charity ball. dominic just hoped he'd know someone there, which was extremely likely since he'd lived in hope harbor his whole life.
he dressed, not having to take long to choose what to wear. dominic had a few different suits, but he chose a black one with a slim tie. he preferred those to the ones that got wider at the bottom. he polished his black shoes, making them extra glossy, put on some cologne, then inspected himself in the mirror. dominic fixed his tie, finding it a bit crooked, then grabbed his coat and car keys. he wasn't worried about being there right on time. besides, wasn't it fashionable to be late? he had soon pulled up to daniel and leila's residence, admiring the outside, having never been there before.
dominic saw that a lot of people were already there, which was a good thing. he'd been dreading being the first or something. it was only about twenty minutes after the party had officially started. he walked in, removed his coat and milled around a bit, waving and saying hello to those he knew, sometimes talking for a few minutes with them. dominic was really in the mood for a drink. parties like this were a bit hard for him, since he'd always gone to them with jackie, his ex. he really did need to get over, after all, it'd been three years. it was hard to move on from someone you loved, though. he pushed her from his mind, grabbing a champagne flute from the tray of a passing waiter. dominic sipped from it, feeling like he could down it in one gulp, but refraining.

AND HOW I GOT TO WHERE I AM. BUT THESE STORIES DON’T MEAN ANYTHING, WHEN YOU’VE GOT NO ONE TO TELL THEM TO. IT’S TRUE, I WAS MADE FOR- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - you | [atrb=width,240][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 240px; padding-top:10px;] Leila felt like a moth in a butterfly costume. Up until Daniel she lived a rather ordinary life. Yes, she had some extraordinary circumstances with her health but other then that she never did much to stand out. Her clothes were simple and she did whatever she could to keep her head down. No, Leila never tried to show herself off. Then Daniel came back to town and he tried to make her feel special. Plus she took more care in her appearance and didn’t mind showing off some parts of herself though it was just for him, not any other guy. He tried to help her continue to feel extraordinary with the things he did for her. No other guy she had been with, even briefly, had done half the things he did for her. It wasn’t even just the gifs but how he treated her in general. She tried to do the same back though sometimes she felt inadequate. Yet he assured her time and time again none of her “silly” thoughts mattered just that she loved him back. Which she did, oh so very much.
When Daniel came up besides her a short laugh left her lips. ”Why later?” She tilted her head slightly as his lips pressed to her cheek. Leila had given into the fact that he’d show her affection no matter where they were. Besides she was starting to like it though that just may be the hormones talking. Lately she had been very affectionate and not just to Daniel but her friends and family as well. She had always cared for them but now she felt like she might explode with the emotions. Then she’d have some fairly swift mood swings. The stress of planning the wedding didn’t help at all. One minute she was fine then something would send her into a fit of tears. This was definitely not how Leila normally acted. If Daniel was around he tried his best to calm her though that led to a mood swing of an entirely different nature. Him trying to comfort her was best if they were alone.
With a blush when he called her love she nodded her head before she sent a small wave to his grandmother. She squeezed his hand as they found a spot to dance. Once she was back in his arms she pulled herself close to him. For a few minutes she just didn’t say anything. The rest of the night was sure to be crazy as they helped his grandparents host the event so she wanted to enjoy a silent moment together. All she did was rub her thumb along his arm as they swayed to the music together. After a moment she drew in some air before she pressed a kiss to his lips. ”I love you, you know that right?” Occasionally her sappy side just took over a little more then it used to. If Daniel was lucky it may even continue after the baby came that summer.

AND WHILE YOUR HEAD IS SPINNINGHOLD TIGHT IT'S JUST BEGINNING* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
jesse had almost decided not to go to the charity ball once landon told her he'd be traveling. she knew she'd have friends there, but she'd been looking forward to spending the evening with him. oh well.. she'd see him again soon enough. besides, it was leila and daniel hosting it, and though she didn't know daniel, leila was a friend of hers. and then there was jude as well as haven, so she didn't know why she was worry so much about it.
she planned on getting there right on time. jesse didn't like to be tardy, so she always made the effort. she'd been thinking about a floor length gown, but in the end thought it too much, and purchased a stunning red dress that ended above the knee. landon had yet to see it, but she was sure he'd like it, too, when he did. jesse put more effort into her hair and makeup than she normally did, though it was still down, like she preferred it. next, she donned the earrings and bracelet landon had got her for christmas, then heels and she was set.
jesse pulled up to their house, stepping out and hurrying inside to get out of the cold. she saw quite a few people she knew right away. it didn't take long for her to start up a conversation with a couple of her girl friends, talking about their outfits and the deals they'd got on them. jesse was very good at that sort of thing, getting the dress and heels she was wearing at a price that was much lower than most of the people's there, probably. she caught a glimpse of leila and daniel, admiring her dress. she knew haven had to be around somewhere, but she was no doubt with clark. as far as jude, he would be with sydni. so, after she finished chatting, jesse went to find a drink. no, not an alcoholic one, maybe later. right now she just wanted some water.

whatever you want here--} ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂Willow wandered around, amazed at the home she found herself in. It truly was gorgeous and she couldn't help feeling a little envious but she smiled it off. Her life was good she shouldn't be looking for frivolous things like... a big gorgeous house... She shook her head to clear it briefly before grabbing herself a glass of champagne as the waiter passed by.
She wandered the floor looking for a friendly face, trying to carefully weave in and out of the crowds. Being on the shorter, quieter side, she tended to go unnoticed so it had taught her to be a little more cautious. She squeaked softly as she found herself meeting the back of another guest. She mumbled softly to herself, managing to steady her glass before it dumped on either of their nice clothes. "I'm so sorry..." She said softly, smoothing out her dress.
She blinked and glanced up, smiling softly as she recognized the face attached to the body. "Oh hey Dominic, I'm really sorry about that I think you're dry though. Funny I'm tipsy and I haven't even gotten a sip..." She joked slightly or attempted to. She knew Dominic from her life here at Hope Harbor. Having lived here since she was born, she knew quite a few people. Half of them had kids that were either in her class or had gone through it.
She was only a couple years older than Dominic so they hadn't hung out much in high school but both having young children and trying to raise them on their own, they had run into each other more than once out and about town. Willow had a lot of respect for Dominic and how he managed to keep it together when his wife walked out on him. She knew how she had felt when she had lost the love of her life.
"Its good to see you got out of the house." She half teased, knowing she was in the safe boat as him. She took a sip of her champagne, hoping he was trying to have some fun at least. ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂ ❂
